Glad to have helped. You will pull it of just make sure you wet the end with your saliva a bit so it doesn't fray and push / pull the sandwich slowly through the coil.

In return, I have about 15 mini protank 3s, I can send u like 4 drip tips if u want. I like those, but I also like the stock protank 2 tips. I see u are on Portugal tho, don't know anything about shipping little pieces of metal to Portugal. I have found that the only ones with holes small like we both seem to like are the little plastic ones, for sale @ many places. They look cheap, but I also HATE a large bore tip. Accidentally bought two HUGE bore tips & just gave them to a young cloud chaser at my local B & M. The tip with the aerotank mega is to me -- perfect. Might want to try that.

I simply have no idea why offers of free stuff gets deleted! Not everyone has the time to tell someone -- follow me to PIF... I bought some rayon, all I could get was 500 feet!! So I posted a thread in the rebuilding thread "Want to try rayon?" I offered to pay shipping... I did send about 6' rayon & pay shipping for 6 people & the thread completely disappeared! What could be wrong with "want something for free?" Don't get it. Not everyone has the time to figure out where to post what... I am sitting here, clandestine posting on my iPad during a neurology diplomate continuing ed seminar. Can't search the entire forum for the BEST place to be kind & help other people out. It's confusing.

Too airy, even with all but one hole closed; at first it's like I'm getting nothing, then WHAM! scorched lips and throat and lungs, asthma attack. I don't even put a dual in it, just a single, but it's not my thing at all. I do like that driptip though; I've been using it with a carto, and it's really nice. I'm hoping that Igo-S will suit me better, tighter draw; something that draws more like a tank, in other words -- I keep my kayfuns more than half closed-off.

Have u built it with ekowool? It's not airy at all. Wrap the one end of the 4 mm ekowool with 6 wraps 26 gauge. Let it tail over to the other side. Do the same thing on the other side, just wrap the far end & let the tail go over to the other side. Now, u have turned the dripper into a tank, so to speak. I get like 20 - 30 hits before I need to re-drip. With that much wick, it's anything but airy (for reference, I can't even seem to find ANY setting on the kayfun that's not too airy for me & I plan to sell them for that reason.)

Have you tried sticking something in the air flow hole? Should restrict enough the flow.. Only doubt I have is if the mod's pressure system will work enough to let the juice flow up the chamber

So since you're into ekowool now but have bought 500 feet of rayon before, I guess you didn't like it?

I confess I never tried cotton, rayon or alike simply because I read that you have to change it every few tanks. I mean, I'm not lazy but when I work I hardly have time for anything and I can't worry all the time in swapping the cotton or whatever. Ekowool lasts at least a couple of weeks which is fine for me.

I measured, what I use is 3 mm ekowool. Sorry about that.

It's okay, once u get used to it, the rayon. I have been checking how long a build lasts, still on my first rayon wick, 3 days now. One thing everyone seems to love about rayon is not important to me, the increases nic hit. I only vape 3 or 6mg. But, keep in mind, with cotton (I only like Japanese) & rayon, all u have to replace is the wick. The coil/microcoil lasts a long time, just yank out the wick & dry burn & re-wick. Easy enough. W/ekowool, have to wrap again, unless I master the mircrocoil build Tony demonstrated to me.

You will. I managed to pull it of on my second attempt and now I can do it with my eyes closed.
Since Ekowool is still kinda expensive and there is a fair amount of waste once you have adjusted the loop lengths and cut off the excess ends, I am imagining a way of doing the same thing but using the Ekowool directly from the spool and only cut it after adjusting the loops... 0% waste that way but haven't done it yet.

I would love to make a ceramic wick though but don't have plates available to sculpture. Maybe just a ceramic bar and put some Ekowool on the tips and down to the feeding base? So many ideas... :)

Well... I do have some ekowool, but... not to dis what may be your favorite... but I just can't imagine going back to something that to me, never carried much flavor at all -- regular silica was better for flavor, IMHO... but organic cotton trumps silica by a mile, for flavor... and rayon... 100 miles.

My kayfuns aren't really airy at all -- the airflow may be closed even more than 50%, I dunno, it's hard to tell, with the way the airflow is adjusted in a KFL+. But see, I don't do lung hits at all; I can't, I have asthma. The only thing I ever smoked with lung hits can't be mentioned or discussed on ECF. :D So, I always do the "sucking on a straw" kind of hit, that's how I smoked, and it's how I vape. And a caterpillar, vaped like that, just gives nothing, no feedback, no resistance... and then it just about knocks me down when it hits my throat and I realize I HAVE been getting something... I just couldn't feel or taste it at all, till it just about killed me.

Well it has air holes on both sides; when you slide the ring around, if you have one hole open on one side, there's one hole open on the other side (since it's actually made for dual coils). I've tried covering one of them with my finger, but it doesn't help much. The chamber is just too big.

Actually the real lure of rayon for most folks is that you DON'T have to change it often; with a regular, non-gunking ejuice, you can get 2 or 3 wks out of one wick. With my WTA, I have to rewick weekly, because it gunks the wick pretty bad, and NET would most likely do that too. But, by contrast, I had to change my organic cotton wicks about every other day, and not because of gunking, but because of burnt taste.

Hmm sounds interesting... I thought you had two swap that every other day... Anyway... My taste is so F uped, silica, Ekowool, etc tastes all the same to me and I'm sure rayon or cotton would be the same. At least I can make cute figure 8s and dream about ceramic wicking and stuff like that :D

5am here, time to go to bed but before I go, a little trick for whom uses Ekowool or silica...

Don't dry burn it

Yeah, that's right. Just don't. If it's gummed up or you want to clean your coil, remove it, dry burn the coil and insert a new wick.
Each time you dry burn silica or ekowool it hardens a bit and looses capillary properties. The thing always works best until you dry burn it... Then it's downhill... After 5 dry burns it's useless. Nowadays I don't bother anymore... If the coil is a black mess, I remove the Ekowool, clean the coil and wick new.

Good night and sweet dreams :)

I just tried leaving the caterpillar with the ekowool build I described & left only one air hole open. Impossible to use since I had to pull so hard to get any vapor at all!

The ekowool I get from Kidney Puncher is cotton threaded. (Tony, I checked it says 3mm on one of the packages) flavor is great with regular ekowool. It seems weird, going to basically silica from silica stock wicks. First if all, I am sure you have rebuilt or at least thoroughly cleaned a stock silica wick. Not much wick there! So it's not the silica, it's the small amount of wick holding juice that mutes the taste.

Ekowool holds tons of juice, has this "clean" taste & u can vape one flavor completely off the wick, until white, before changing flavors. No fear of that death-by-burnt-cotton taste. I went to my B & M, bunch of microcoil/cotton heads so we did a blind taste test. Same juice, 2 different drippers, one cotton & one ekowool. To their surprise, all 6 microcoil/cotton types picked the ekowool. It's that "clean" flavor that's hard to describe.

I like Ekowool for its simplicity and longevity. Maybe one day I'll change my mind but for now, Ekowool it is. Did you managed to try out the butterfly wicking yet? :)

Now back to topic:

Good news: managed to control my shopping impulses for almost the whole weekend!

Bad news: "almost"

The cravings for a good fat shopping cart were terrible today. I just had to buy something. So I thought, ok... Let's buy something small and useful just to stop the cravings so I ordered 30 ft of kanthal wire and 15 ft of 2mm Ekowool.
I wasn't really happy but at least my mood went a few points up :)

A couple of hours later, the cravings came back again. Instead of buying something I thought, hey, let's just do some shop browsing and preferably at a store where it's difficult to buy something (read that as outside EU) so I decided to check out fasttech since I never went to their store... Oh God... That thing is huge! I really appreciated the fact that they have their products pretty badly organized so you can't actually browse through items at will (which stopped me buying the entire store lol) but I did a few searches and bam... Saw a quartz nano kit for my kayfun... Then I saw another that uses smaller metal rings ... Had to buy them both. Then I saw those lovely ceramic tweezers... I had to have them... Paid and turned off the computer right away so I wouldn't fall in more temptations.

All in all, it wasn't that bad :)

How was your day folks?
