The best video that I learned from, which can apply to any Genesis-style RBA tank, is the tutorial that Zen did with the Z Atty Pro for Provape: Z-ATTY-PRO Rebuildable Atomizers For ProVari - YouTube

I second that one, best vid for sure.

I got 2 rebuilables, love em. Only reason I didn't buy more is I am always on the move and like to switch out flavors a few times a day. A friend has the AGA T2 and it works great for him so I would say it is a good buy. I went with a ZAP cause it was so forgiving, after I couldn't get my cobra working. Bought the cobra cause it was shiny, has a fairy on it... Now they both vape awesome.

But then also I like to tinker, just have the cartos and vivs on hand.

Sooooo another soldier joined the RBA army. Im thinking we should probably start some kind of hazing for newcomers. Like making them write "RBA" on their chest in Sharpie, take picture and make it as their display picture for a week.

Hahahaha i kid. Kind of. No really i kid. Or am i? Hmmmm.....

I'm not sure there is anywhere left on my body to write things.... I'm rather, how you say, saturated with tattoos from head to toe. Although maybe I'll get 'RBA n00b' on my face - going for that tyson look.

Oh... Also.. Uhm... I might have bought a ZAP... WHY!

I am Mr Two Left Thumbs if I can do it anyone can.

I have a VV Bogger Box and a Reomizer.

The Reomizer is just plain brain dead to Re-Build if you are using Pre-Rolled 400ss. [Bought at Good Prophets]
You only need around 3/8 inch of material.

I just switched to the FC-2000 Porous Ceramic Wick and yes it takes some time but it's really easy.

I found a sweet spot with my RBA which is .8-1.0Ohm at 4.0v - 4.25V
The reason why you can go lower resistance and higher watts for a sweet spot is that it's all about the Temperature of the Coils. With an RBA you have the coils touching a much greater surface Area than with stock atomizers. Especially on the Porous Ceramic Wick where the Porous Ceramic leaches heat from the wires.

Anyway at this point in time no one has produced a stock solution that is equivalent to my FC-2000 with 4 rolls of 28 Gauge Kanthal. I am getting the purest cleanest vape imaginable.

So if you are searching for perfection in your vaping, than RBA is the way to go. You can tailor your wick to exactly what you like best!

Another good point Kanj. Not only do the wick and coils (generally) last longer it is MUCH cheaper to rebuild them. It costs me about ten cents to rebuild my genny. Also now that I've cut my teeth on a genesis I've started rebuilding all of our tanks, except the cartos obviously. I had a little rebuilding party the other night, rebuilt 2 Vivi Nova's, 2 Vision clearos, a Vision Eternity (still haven't used any of the pre coiled wicks it came with), my AGA and my IGO. Rebuilding the lot probably cost me less that replacing even one Vivi head.
Did you use any NR wire at your party?

sooooooooo...i happened to be in the neighborhood of another semi-local B&M which had a Vision Eternity RDA/RBA. WOW

Its a bit premature, considering I'm still using eGo's and do not have the right equipment to test resistance besides a regular old multi-meter. But I love this thing, 40 drops of juice and no leaks, tons of vapor, great throat hit, and clean flavor. My clearo's are already jealous, and ive only been using this thing for about 4 hours now. I rebuilt one of the coils just for the hell of it to see if I could, and perfect on the first attempt. Though its somewhat easy on these compared to the other RBA's i've seen videos on.

I have been looking into upgrading to a mod lately...still searching for the right fit for me. Once I find it, will be going the RBA route.

Thank you guys again for the helpful information & advice. Now if only payday could get here sooner.

I *almost* punched the "add to cart" button tonight on a Vision Eternity! I know it has had it's critics but what doesn't? 30+ drops in a "dripper"?!?! I bet it looks good on an ego width battery too. The biggest thing that has kept me away from the Eternity is that post and stake method of attaching coils... I wish it had springs or even screws. But hey! I used to recoil my vivi and clearo heads too and those have none of that! :D

IMO RBA's are all about the fear of deeming regulation, and putting the time into finding out what will work should they happen.

If you are anything like me you will probably try to learn how to set up a RBA to vape just like the flavor & TH that you already like.
I now have 5 different RBA's that can do just that!

To be honest, sure the vapopocalypse headed by the FDA or whatever is certainly a factor in any smart (paranoid?) vaper's purchasing decisions, rebuildable or not. But it's obviously more than that too. When I set out with my first home spun silica + kanthal wick I was only *hoping* it would perform as well as what I was "used to". Now all my factory stuff collects dust or belongs to someone else.

Especially SLR vaping on a mech... that's VERY hard to replicate with a carto or vivi at 1.5+ ohms. Then there is the price! Kanthal in spools is less than 10 cents a FOOT. Silica, if you shop carefully is less than a nickle an inch. If you get cotton working it can be so cheap it isn't even worth counting. SS mesh? Around $10 for an 8x11 sheet, as little as half that if you find the deal and each sheet can make as many as 30+ wicks which practically seem to last forever... for around 35 cents (that's a high estimation) a wick? That will beat a $2+ vivi or kanger replacement head to death with a stick! A very large stick! And of course there is the satisfaction of knowing you CAN do it yourself... better... cheaper. :)

Of course it's no match for my MECH+AGA combo but I really really like the Vision Eternity. Truly. As long as you don't over fill it, which is not hard to do, the thing will not leak a drop. Looks and works great on my spinner backup. I got two for about $32 from aquavaporcig.com, still the same price but out of stock :(

I remember being in the position you are in thinking about taking the leap. I recommend it based on what you said in your post about liking to tinker. Try the RSST and a nice mech mod. I used the MKB-TS. I don't regret it. It's kind of a steep learning curve. It's worth it though. Trying to get a nice hybrid mod now. I finally got one a noble1. It needed a lot modification to my taste, especially for 200$. Its at the anodizers now. I got of topic. I digress.... JUMPpppppp....!!!!!

I've only been vaping for a short period of time, but have a handful of friends who are already deep in the hobby and have been vaping for years. As of right now I run a provari with carto/tank combo and it's nice for on the go, but after trying a few mech/rba builds I'm sold on flavor and clouds.

Looking to begin with the IGO L and really like the capabilities/looks of the Nimbus.

That's good to know! I don't even personally know anyone that has one for me to try. I heard stories about it leaking at the threads, how flavor was "muted", etc. It's from Vision so it should be built pretty well, right? And outside of the distance from the coil to your lips I can't see how it would mute flavor any more than any other dripper... I might even prefer it! Already have an igo-l, an a7 and a few phoenix clones... they are all very good... because they are drippers! :D But NONE of them holds more than 8-10 drops!

Found the Eternity in stock and on sale for $20.99 at vaporbank. Already had a pretty full cart so I passed on it for now, especially since I know that aqua had them a bit cheaper. I wonder if aqua is planning to restock or not?
