i ordered this and wanna know is it supposed to be green when mixed?

i mixed it with the 50/50 pga/pg and got tons of specs. will let it sit for a few days and shake occasionally and see if it comes together.

Dark avocoto or olive green is correct

I recieved some of the rustica and yesterday mixed it in PG. Its a pasty goo so was hard to get it right but believe I am close enough. First mistake as put the PG and rustica in my 10 ml glass vial and microwaved it for 10 seconds. Grabbed it and burned the $#^^((^ out of my fingers lol. Let it cool down some and it disolved fairly well. Used a wood Q-tip stick to stir in in the vial and it was steaming everytime. Eventually poured it in a 10 ml bottle and shaked it well. Gave it a couple hot water baths and shakes over the next couple hours and then tried two drops in a 10 ml tobacco juice I make. Really wasnt impressed. Taste didnt really change much but it did smell great. Now I am letting it steep and see if that makes a differance.

My mixture is dark dark brown, almost black. I dont know how anyone could see suspended particles in it. But it does have an awesome aroma to it.

BTW, the little bottle I received was a 3 ml size. I put a third of it in the vial and it raised it to maybe 9.2 ml mark. After heating in the microwave the level was slightly over 10 ml which was the target level.

When I mix it and add it to my juice It does have a greenish cloudy tinge to it so if that's what your seeing then that's normal. As far as chunks or particals floating that is not normal and would lead me to believe that you either used to much paste to create your concentrate

Or

Did not use pga/pg base

or

did not heat and mix it well.

THe concentrate will also leave a slight film on the inside of the bottle.

If you can not get it mixed properly try cutting back on the amount pf paste or try diluting it a little more or add more PGA. Also I don't know if age matters but when I got mine in 2014 it was dated 2014 so for you guys that got something from 2013. Well that just don't sound right to me and I would ask Samarian why it's so old?

Good question, especially since they told one customer (Chopdoc I think it was) that their current batch was not up to their standards, and then they went ahead and shipped it to other customers anyway. Something is off the way the particles in this batch from 2013 are refusing to dissolve in pga.

What is the date of your batch written inside the documentation?

I couldnt say but it probably is 2015 because I had to wait for them to receive an acceptable batch to send it out. The documentation is gone. I received mine the day before going into the hospital and nine days later when I got home I seen the wife "straightened" things up a bit. Documentation long gone.

Sorry to hear about your hospital stay. You apparently received more courtesy from the company since they didn't want to send you an old batch like they did to the rest of us. Organic compounds usually have a shelf life of approximately one year - this according to a sticky posted by Rolygate somewhere on the ECF. Enjoy your vape. Wishing you a full recovery.

p.s. Mine is still steeping, but I am getting a taste of oriental tobacco with herbal undertones - similar to a spicy cigar.

I don't know what to say except I don't get any spice at all. I really don't know what to compare it to, but probably the closest I have to it is is Cigar from the VZ alcohol line. For me it shines as an additive because I like strong but smooth and slightly sweet grassy/hay notes and the Rustica delivers that in spades.

Spicy is probably the wrong word but I couldn't find anything better. "tangy" may be more like it since it has a good kick. I also should mention that I am vaping this all by itself without mixing with another flavor. It's unlike any traditional tobacco that I know of, but whatever it is, It's a pleasant vape.

I received an e-mail from Samara indicating that the nature of Samara can vary from one batch to another and be different from one year to the next. They had to reject one batch in January and now are selling a batch received in March. For all these reasons they recommend buying a small sample first before commiting to a larger quantity. A sample costs $1.99.

That is a perfect description of it. I compare it to pipe.

For those who are interested, there is a new version of TA being offered by Mother's Milk, the makers of WTA's. It is most likely a different variety from Rustica since according to its description, it is derived from air cured American tobacco.

https://www.mothersmilkwta.com/index.php/catalog/absolute-ta-tobacco-absolute/

$37.50 is a bit expensive for an already premixed TA. If it's from american tobacco I would assume it to be on the lines of a virginia TA. If anyone tries it please report back.

I noticed a lot of you are having issues mixing the samara TA.

So I mixed some up just to confirm my original recipe and it came out as it usually does. Now I noticed a lot of you are not following my recipe so here it is again

50% PGA (190 proof everclear) to 50% PG then add 10% samera to it. So in my case for 10ml I used 4.5ml's PGA + 4.5ml's PG + 1ml samara. The key to desolving it correctly is the PGA.

Now it may just coagulate and sink to the bottom that's OK. Heat it to 150 degrees and shake the heck out of it. What I did was put it in my ultrasonic cleaner with the heat cycle on for 1 hour shaking it every 15 minutes. After an hour it was a nice dark brown. If you rotate the bottle it will coat the bottle with an olive green film. There were no chunks floating around and it did not sererate even after 3 hours.

I made my ADV with my usual 3% samara mixed concentrate added and it came out as it always does (Great) and it will only get better with age. It is normal for your mix to have an olive green haze to it.

just to emphasize danny's point, your alcohol needs to be 190 proof for best results. Anything lower, and you are introducing unwanted water into the mix - a poor solvent for this particular material. I used 140 proof, but limited it's use to 20%. The results are OK, but far from perfect.
