Has anyone been able to find an alternate source for Rustica until Samara Botanicals starts shipping again? I have searched all over, and it seems they are the only one offering it. There is plenty of the other variety available, but not Rustica.

I was able to add it to my cart and go to checkout so they must have it in stock.

Here's a nice one for you.

I got tired of the usual RY4's overly sweet taste and yearned for an RY4 that actually tasted like tobacco with just an ever so slight sweetness. I wanted body and fullness more then sweetness with a rich tobacco taste. So here's my big boy recipe for RY4 I would like to share with you all.

Base:

12mg 76VG/22PG 5% DW

Flavoring

Inawera s-camel 3% (Strong stuff)
Inawera DNB 3%
Samara TA 3%
AP 1%
Hangsen chocolate 1% (substitution is OK for your favorite milk chocolate)
Hangsen caramel 1% (Again substitution OK for your favorite caramel)
EM .5% (That's half a percent - No more no less)

You can add more chocolate or caramel but I would say no more then 2% total on each. After all your looking for a tobacco rich flavor and not a chocolate or caramel dominent flavor.

Steep in a crock pot for 4 hours

It's out of this world.

A cross between a slighty ashy but heavenly sweeter pipe tobacco taste with just the hit of nutty caramel. Chocolate gives it thickness. OH so good.

I was able to add to my cart as well, but did you actually check out? Chopdoc apparently did, and he subsequently received an e mail indicating a delay in his order (see below.) I wrote to the company a week ago to see how long a delay, and haven't heard from them yet.

Sadly I wont be able to try the rustica tobacco absolute anytime soon. I received an email earlier that my order is delayed because the shipment they received isnt up to their standards. I am glad they have good quality control but would love to give this a try now that I tried others.

Man, that sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing Danny.

Yes, thanks for posting Danny. That looks like something I'd like as well. I actually had s-camel in my cart at one time but went over budget and took it out. It seems to get mostly good reviews.

If anyone is interested in trying a sample of Rustica already mixed and ready to vape, Rize vapor has a 5 ml sample size for around $4 .

RiZe Rustica Tobacco 5ML

The description indicates it is "mapacho" tobacco from which Rustica is extracted, but they do not clarify one way or another whether The flavor natural or synthetic. Intellicig USA also carries the flavor in pre-mixed form.

I'd rather get the TA and mix it my way with my choice of nic and base but for others that may work:):toast:

Of course, but if Samara is not shipping, as someone indicated above, where else can you find Rustica? It's a bit puzzling that they shipped JD1's order but not the next order from another person. I went ahead and placed my order anyway - just to see if they actually will push me off like they did the other person.

My order has shipped.... Don't know why anyone on this thread would spread rumors that Samara is not shipping, or otherwise that their inventory was not "up to their standards." Neither seems to be true given the fact that JD1 found no problems with the quality. On the other hand I am still wondering why Samara did not respond to my e mail inquiring about a question that had come up with their batch. Oh well ...

Great! :vapor:

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I'm really liking that I can 'rescue' some of the tobacco flavors I already have. I have four or five tobacco recipes that don't need the Samara and several more that do.

I definitely plan to try Danny's recipe as soon as I get the rest of ingredients together - one down and several more to go :toast:

Followed Danny's lead and this simple mix is pretty decent green. Takes the solvent-ish edge off some very well steeped TA I have.

1 drop TA 50% dilution
2 drops INW brandy cocoa
2 drops INW czekolada
In 10ml base

Thank you Danny for reminding me how good a bit of cocoa is in tobacco.

Yeal, inspired me as well. I posted my concoction over in the 'what did you make today' thread. By far my favorite additives are vanilla and caramel for a Ry4 type mix, but lately I've been having fun with others as well. Not long back I added some cherry and absolutely love it.

A couple more new (to me) flavors that I use in my tobacco mixes is TFA Dulce De Leche and FA Oakwood. Either or both are great for a change of pace addition. Adding some coconut with the Oakwood is great as well.

One flavor that I like but not as well as I thought I would is apple. Maybe I just haven't found the right apple yet.

I received my order of Rustica today and need some of you better informed people to check my work before I start mixing. To make a 10% solution of Rustica, I would first mix the 2ml's that I received with 2 ml of Ethyl Alcohol (70% alcohol, 30% water.) and then add 6 ml of pg for a total of 10 ml. I would then use that as a concentrate to make my final mix. If my final mix was to contain 2% of Rustica for example, I would take 2 ml of this new concentrate and add it to 8 ml of base. Is that correct you guys? Thanks in advance and sorry for the silly question.

Your 2ml of Rustica should be added to 18ml of solution for a 10% solution. Danny recommends 50/50 pga and pg for the solution but if you don't have that then you'll need to go with what you have. Since your alcohol is 30% water already, I'm thinking I'd use 20 percent pg so that the alcohol ratio would still be 50 percent.

The actual numbers for that is 14.4ml Ethyl, 3.6ml pg, 2ml Rustica. I'd think they could be adjusted to 14, 4, and 2 to keep it easier.

I'd also consider making a quarter amount until you see how it goes. Good luck and keep us posted.

The way I am doing it is, (I think) : 20% Rustica, 14% pure alcohol, 6% water, 60% Pg for a 20% Rustica solution. I can compensate for lack of Vg in my final mix. Or I can cut my 20% solution to 10% with proper amount of Vg and/or additional alcohol. Thank you for pointing this out.

This stuff is extremely oily. Got some on my hands, and it wouldn't get off very easily. No wonder it's a coil clogger. But from what I hear, it's worth it. I better start improving my coil building skills. Going to need it.
