Too tight MTL draw?

Trying to find the correct strenght of my draw/suck when vaping MTL on a Nautilus Mini, in order to avoid flooding. I have narrowed my gurgling issues down to either bad coil or too strong/weak? draw.

Setup: DNA40 & Nautilus Mini with 1.8ohm BVC coil (reads 1.9).
Setting: With 1.8ohm bvc I can go up to max 9watts, and then the Volt shows 4.2 and the flavour weakens. Set to biggest airhole.
Most often used e-liquids: 50/50 where the sweetspot is in the range of 3.6-4.2 volts max (otherwise the flavour seems to burn off - five pawns e-liquids + Space Jam)
The strenght of my MTL draw: I can "lift" a 5cmx5cm piece of standard A4 paper from the table.

- Is my draw/suck too strong/weak?
- Should I change to a 1.6ohm BVC coil, in order to highten the watts, and vapour liquid faster?
- Would the Clapton 1.8ohm coil then be a better choice since it goes up to 13-16watts?

I am a big fan of Nautilus Minis but I have had a couple of similar issues.

In my experience the draw seems to get tighter and vapour production goes down when a coil is in the way out and does tend to show up even before an "off taste" develops.

I have also had, even with genuine coils the odd duff one or two in a packet of five - while they fire they don't achieve the right temperature and the thing becomes a chronic "gurgler."

If it's not any of the above all I can suggest is going back to basics and trying "correct" tecnique - a slow four second draw to see what's happening.

As a couple of finals I have also found it useful to unscrew the coil and mop up any juice/condensation which might have collected below it with a scrunched up tissue or a Q Tip. I also have found it best to leave my set up on its side during the night rather than upright - but it might also be worth trying the old trick of tilting the bottom of your mod up higher than the mouthpiece and taking a few draws to clear any gurgling.

It's been a long time since I was that deep into a Nauti; I've been building for years. But bump for an answer, although I think @Falconeer has steered your right.

It seems like all the nautilus coils as of late are coming in at 1.9. I had similiar issues when I used the mini so I switched to the full size version and I have zero issues. It's a really good vape for MTL.

The Nautilus is being naughty at the moment.

The new BVC coils are not working well for me. I am using up my stock and then shipping on out never to return. (Will be trying Eleaf instead)

Too low power - flooding. (Holes too big or juice too thin)
Too high power - poor taste as soon as 3 days...

The best I can get for flavor and vapor is between about 12 and 14 watts.
Ignore the ohm reading on you mod... it makes no difference.
Forget swapping between 1.6 and 1.8, also, no difference.
Clapton is only useful for higher power.

It works!!! ... now I just need to figure out why it works.

Inspired by your answers with higher watts + a youTube video from Steamshots. He gives advice to newbies on how to draw when subohming to prevent gurgling. Seems my suck have been too weak?!

I successfully got a wonderfull tight gurglefree MTL draw on both:

Subvod battery + Nautilus mini w.1.9 ohm + largest airhole + tight 4-5 sec draw
Subvod battery + Nautilus mini w.1.6 ohm + second largest airhole + tight 4-5 sec draw

TaTaDaaaa ... (dancing my happy jazzy mojo dance) now I just need to find out what watts the Subvod battery sends through my Nautilus... and curiosly wait and see how fast my coils die out

the tighter draw also gives me gurglefree DL on the DNA combined with the Triton mini + Subtank Nano ... need to figure out how to do a MTL there as well.

Yeah I'm close to exstaticly overhappy ... I loose some flavour though with my favourite e-liquids, but it's a d... good start ... right now I'm as close to being in love, as one can be with a device, with my Subvod battery .... oooorh nice battery
