Hi,

i'm just wandering about the rubbery 'seals'… in the protank2.

The one i removed was small and around the atomiser…. (it was up; snug against the wicks..)
unlike the other 'seals' the one i removed was more of a tyre shape or a cup… as opposed to the rings found next to the pyrex and where the atomiser screws into the base.

i removed it because the atomiser wouldn't screw into the tank - the rubber seal seemed to be stopping it thread..
i haven't had any leaks or problems from doing so… but the ring with the atomiser attached to it is misaligned slightly… (theres a gap now..)

should i have left this seal on?
so basically straight outta the box. just taken atomisers out of packaging and screwed them into the base and screwed the base onto the rest of the tank?

cheers.

ah thanks Bunykiller.

I've just been watching a vid and it appears i removed the ring on the coil….. i think thats the same as the atomiser..

just put the ring back on - its so much better :D
it had definatley stated to gurgle.. - now no longer!

thanks for the reply.

any idea why the 'threaded base' is misaligned?
it felt as though it were cross threaded very first time i screwed it on… - the coil was screwed in fully/nicely..
but when i attached the threaded base to the 'metal ring' it was really difficult and stiff and now its on wonky…

The connection of the Threaded Base to the battery is fine.. no leaks now either..
But just a 1mm+ gap on the other side… - the bit with a grip pattern where it meets the metal ring:confused:

that sounds like a cross thread situation, carefully unscrew it ( to avoid damaging the threads) and gentlly rethread the parts back together making sure it stays straight...

now i can't unscrew the threaded base from the metal ring at all…
its jammed shut…

think this may be a badly made unit…… which is sad as its producing tons of vapour….
i've got other ones - with no 'cross threading' esk issues..

might abandon this one… - can't get it open and was a bugger to put on in the first place..

Don't abandon it!! Buy either another base, or better yet, an air control base. The rest of it is still good. You should be able to get the air control base for about 6 bucks, American.
