Thanks guys. Its just frustrating, to be new, on info overload, and then to feel like some people "judge" you without knowing the full story. But at the same time, there are so many good responses to the few negative ones.

angied: I feel the same way. I like my njoy so far. Is it the best out there? i'm sure its not...but I can always upgrade. I would have been much more upset to spend $100+ to get set up and not like it, than to spend $20 to find out I don't like it. Turns out I do enjoy it, so I will upgrade when the money is there.

Some people also don't understand living paycheck to paycheck due to circumstances beyond my control. I can't just drop hundreds of dollars to try something. I have to really be frugal and figure out whats right for ME. Sure I could have bought the top of the line, and all the juices, and accessories...but I wouldn't have internet..or electric. There's always a tradeoff to consider. My opinion is that buying the njoy for $20 is a lot better than not even considering the e-cig because I can't afford the best.

Please don't let the few grumpies discourage you. We all try to help eachother, alot more than people in other forums do. If you want to see some flame-posts, check out almost any fast car forum. All they do is name call and discourage eachother(testosterone driven. lol). Once you have found what works for you, no one should be saying anything discouraging to you IMHO. Whatever works is what works. If I was part of the problem for you, I appologize. I just happen to like very much what I have, and like for people to get info from my experience of 6-7 different e-cigs that I've had in the last 6 months.

LowThudd, my comments were not directed at you AT ALL. You have been very helpful and given me lots of needed info :) Thank you!!

i've only been on here a few days and already thinking i won't post anymore. i didn't ask if anyone approved of what I bought. I knew what I was getting going in. I had my reasons for purchasing it. I posted a question about batteries yesterday and that thread ended in why would i want to vape and charge, why don't i invest in more batteries. OY. i just asked a simple question about batteries in general. I don't really feel like explaining in every thread my reasons for what I do.

Don't let anyone get to you. Some folks are competitive in whatever they do and their personal favorite is obviously the best :p If you're happy with it, that's all that matters. Personally, anyone making the first step to getting off analogs has made a great choice.

Kari, I wish you well. The 7-11 kit has some good reviews for what it is. You could have done a lot worse. At least it's working for you now.

One thing you can try when you do get some money is you can look at the ECF classifieds. People are often on there selling their used or new stuff for good deals. Classifieds and swaps

BTW, there is a model specific forum for the RN4081 here: RN 4081 *Super Mini* No one will bother to try and convert you there. lol

Thanks! I hadn't found that one yet.

whoohoo, didn't know that existed either. So many things on this site, I have a lot of exploring to do apparently :)

Kari, shoot howdie this is like the first time I when to one of the banjo forums. It feels like people are judging you for the things you have rather than the person you are or the values you hold. Good for you for trying vaping and quitting cigs. Newbe forums always are a little tense like the first day of school and all. You go girl! I have to say it speaks very well of you that even in a time when most folks would not want to face any other changes (I can't quit now. I am way to stressed about the bills. and so on) that you are trying to better your sense of self.

I've only been vaping for a month but I like to chime in like I know what I'm talking about

Ya know, I've been doing that, too, and every day, I've been telling myself that I should just shut up and quit posting, because I'm sure that weeks, months, and a year from now, my opinions will be different from what they are now -- about e-cig products and everything related to vaping. I've only been getting my opinions from the products I decided to buy, from various messages posted in this forum, and from watching YouTube videos in the last three weeks. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if I'm using completely different vaping products a year from now (or sooner).

Yup, I thought my eGo was the be all end all e-cig. It is, in a way. But sometimes a sniper rifle works better than a bazooka. Ya know?

Yea, I sure know what you're sayin'. One thing that bothers me when responding to those who are just starting out is that many of us are recommending what we've found to be the best for us. I really don't want to confuse anyone or make their decision harder. You like the SmokeStik the best, I use these passthroughs most of the time (because I'm almost always at home), and now I'm using an eGo part of the time at home and always when I'm not at home, and others use something else. It has to be mind-boggling to someone new who comes here asking for advice on what they should buy.

So, every day, I tell myself that I should just stay away from posting my opinions on what I like so far -- and just read to try to learn stuff I don't know yet, since I still have this obsession and can't concentrate on anything else yet.

yeah but i also know that some people jump in headfirst without researching and some people really know their stuff! My fiance and I research a lot. We aren't experts by any means but I think we've gained some knowledge that we can share and i'm sure you have too. I'd rather have someone try to answer my question than leave me hanging :)

I try to walk in the OPs shoes and give them advice based on what they are looking for. If they say "I want big vapor and long batt life and I don't care if it's cig sized", then hands down it's the eGo(USB batt IMHO). If they say the want an auto, that is cig sized, I try to explain how the SS and the KR* IMHO are better than the 510s, based on the problems I've had. Simple.

And I tend to take it a few steps further by placing myself in the OPs shoes a week or two after they start vaping (when their desires will most certainly change, after they've bought the starter kits and/or parts they no longer want and have to spend more money to get what they shoulda bought) -- when they most likely won't care if the battery looks like a cigarette or not, when they no longer care about big vapor and have decided that they enjoy throat hits better, or when they get tired of messing around with atomizers and cartridges, discover cartomizers a week or so later, and decide to switch to cartos. Just a few little factors that are currently on my mind, since this all happened to me just two to three weeks ago.

But you see, you are assuming they will want what you would want. I don't agree with second guessing what someone has stated they want. It just confuses the person sometimes. Remember how you were on overload that night I helped you pick the eGo? Well, others might not be able to even handle it as well as you.

Look, I feel like I should explain something. I guess I didn't realize how sensitive some people can be. I'm not used to dealing with people all day, then I come on here and say something and it is sometimes taken the wrong way. k_a_r_i I feel bad for coming across the way I did. It really wasn't my intention. I'm used to dealing with gruff people who take things a lot differently than most of you guys on here. Sorry for coming across a little prickly. I really wasn't trying to degrade you by the comment about your device. My opinion about that hasn't changed, but I am allowed to have an opinion on a forum right? If someone bashes my PV, I just be like 'so.' Anyway, my apologies. You seem like a sweetheart so please don't let me scare you off.

I figured I'd spend the $20 and look at it as a "test" model to see if it was something I would like. I'll probably get a Joye510 next. So far the NJoy is performing better than I expected it to. In 48 hours I have only had to charge the battery once, and I'm still on the 1st cartomizer.

Welcome to ECF! as you probably already know, you've made a good choice. i started wit the joye 510. used it for a year and really liked it. about a month ago, i bought a joye eGo. it was a few more bucks, but well worth it! i liked my 510 but LOVE my eGo!!! experiment with flavors. any questions that come up... ask here. you'll find ECF to be an outstanding resource. Happy Vaping!!!
