It's fun when you can canoe around the front yard [emoji5]

Our place is Dry, on a small high spot and up about 4' above ground. Neighbor to the right of us is not so lucky, be has a mobile home fairly close to the normal lake edge; the top of a swing set, about 6' above local ground level, is poking up in the middle of that shot.

Second photo is the dog pen we have at camp, about 20' lakeward and a couple feet lower ground level compared to our house there. The water is 2-1/2' deep at the lake edge of the pen [emoji5]

If anyone wants to try pumping our front yard, go for it [emoji3]

We're on the only flood plain for a decent chunk of the Seneca River. The water would have to be 3' higher to bother us, and that would stretch the flood area a huge amount (unlikely - that would be a LOT of water).

Honestly, it just makes it easier to launch our raft/boat. I need to reset one of the six wheels on it, then I'll be able to float it down towards the real lake edge, tie off to the shallower set of moorings I have.

Wow . So lucky your house is safe. Do you have to use a boat to get out?
It's our camp, 20 minutes from our main home. We parked at the last dry point on the road going to it, slogged through the water.

Wifie and I are both divers, I instruct on the side, so we have wetsuits and boots. We did go on a canoe ride around the area, tied off a few items that had floated away [emoji5]. We now have a 20' section of someone's dock deck on the road side yard at our place. It's tied off for now, I'll probably drag it back to the lake edge Tuesday.

I belong to a Flow painting group with 10K members from all over the world. The questions come thick and fast and most of the information is laid out in group documentation. People are extremely open about how they do things with process videos and handholding. Immediately after reading the above post here I was tagged to help someone in that group. This was the post

what are your favorite brands of acrylic paints, pouring mediums etc. Also what products give you the best cells. How do you mix everything (ratios) and are the ratios the same when you are doing a dirty pour? When it dries do you put something on it to seal it? And what does using a torch do?I looked in the files but could not find anything that helps me out. Thanks!

Took a breath..........Then on the second day.................

Can you imagine what sort of reaction that gets and she was most upset when people ignored her. How can you help someone that wants so much information without ever having done a bit of research. People write books on this.

Wow, just Wow !! Where does a person begin. Sometimes after reading a question you're filled with so many emotions, mostly conflicting, that you just don't know how to answer (you know what you want to say but....), so I just sit there staring at the screen for who knows how long, then, some other kind soul comes along and answers before I can.

But then...

"ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY MY mod GETS SO HOT!!!

There must be something wrong with the electronics in my mech."

Then Johnny Joe who just joined last week comes along and "confirms" the OPs suspicions.

Because after 6 posts, all questions or argumentative, Johnny Joe is now a battery expert.

Boy Howdy !! I have seen that exact same thing I don't know how many times. That mindset seems to be more and more pervasive. Those folks you can't help. The old saying "Ignorance is Bliss" is a reality.;)
