Be aware that the rta version has a wicking "trick" to it.

Oh? I get the wick around the coil posts and kinda stuff it into the well. Is there a better way to do this? I think I even tried getting the wick under the coil, but the first way seems to work fine for me.

I'll be darned. I got to looking thru my old stuff, and found a bridgeless atty. I soaked it up and tried it. I think I'll stick to my igo-s for flavor testing. :)

You have a pic? I'm interested to see it!

T for Texas!
Isn't a bridgeless atty essentially an RDA with a stubby wick that doesn't touch the deck? In other words, what's the point of using 5 year old vape gear?

The list of reasons to use older vape gear is long but distinguished :)

But for this particular situation it is for those who DIY for their liquids. A bridgeless atty has NO wick, therefore you can change to another e-juice/flavor/mix without any fuss. Basically just drop your juice on the atty and go.

With an RDA, you have to change the wick to test another flavor.

What keeps the coil from roasting itself?

They have been around for a very long time. Used to be the thing for dripping. For me at least, the smaller rebuildables like the igo-s are just as good, if not better.
I remember buying the bridged atties, and de bridging them.
