That's basically a very well-done primer on how to rebuild the eleaf 1.5 coils. @Cheechako and @IMRs were pretty much the ECF groundbreakers in rebuilding that coil. They learned it and passed on the knowledge because so many of us were using the eLeaf tanks and, especially, the 1.5Ω coil. Once the CLR coil was discovered, however, a lot of folks walked away from rebuilding the eLeaf coil since the CLR is much easier. In doing so, some also walked away from the eLeaf tanks.

I still like them and still rebuild the 1.5 coil. It's basically the same as rebuilding the CLR with one major exception--the top cap does not screw off. You have to maneuver it off and back on, and it's not fun. A lot of the vid you were referencing up there had to do with getting that trick accomplished. I fought a stupid long time learning to get that cap off, but I'm fairly good at it now.

@Bea-FL is among those still heavily involved with the eLeaf tanks. The Air M seems to be the favored one (the names of these tanks can be confusing). I have several GS tanks that I bought on clearance from GotVape a few months ago. I like those a lot, and I have different versions of the GS Air tanks, including four that came as part of the iStick Basic kit, which is what got me off cigarettes. I like those too.

And, I'm very fond of the 1.5 coil, which explains why I learned to rebuild them. At that time, I was certain the eLeaf tanks would be my main stash. Now, it's the eGo Ones, but I have almost as many eLeafs.

Not sure if GotVapes still has the GS tanks on sale. They were like $5 apiece. They've redone their website, and my signin info no longer works. I'm sure Bea and others can direct you to the M tank if you want one. Folks swear by them.

Dang, that took a lot of words to say so little. I'm tired and think I've forgotten how to transfer thought to printed word.

What does it mean when you seem to have open airflow and can taste the juice, but don't get any vapor?

Anyone have any reason for me not to get the GS Air tank ?

Since you like rebuilding, it would make sense to stay away from tanks that take drop in coils unless they also have an RBA section.

I assure you, button is being pushed. [emoji4]just now I was able to get the smallest hint of vapor by taking a very long drag, but this is 90% vg juice. I'm puzzled

Mr Studly! Good to see you again

@VapeLuvr yes the GS Airs tanks are still my daily tanks. I have ego ones and amors and I like both of them but the Airs are my favorites. Last year when we were all stashing away for the vapicalypse I bought LOTS of their coils so I use them because I'm not fond of coiling. I can recoil them easily after having practiced and cussed and cussed some more at first. No they don't unscrew like the CLRs but after I loosen a top off I find they come off and go back on easily. I keep all my used ones and recoild them for later.

@Cheechako's video was a great help to me to learn how. Thanks sweetie

Now about the Air tanks. There are GS Air-M tanks (3mL) GS Air-MS (shorty) (2.5mL) and GS tanks (3mL). I have the M and the MS…the latter being my favorite. Both are 19mm.

M and MS tanks are available at FT but they are not authentic. I bought some of the M from FT and, as far as quality, they work fine but the AF is very loose and has to be adjusted often. The top metal cap sticks out past the glass a little. Not a biggy really.

$6.30 Free Shipping GS Air-MS Styled Bottom Coil Clearomi (GS Air-MS, Silver + Translucent) at m.FastTech.com

I know nothing about the GS tanks but they are available at FT.

I hope this helps.

My guess would be the coil isn't heating up as fast as you think it should. What you just described sounds like a long ramp up time. What wattage and what resistance, and type of coil?

I left it at home. I had to go back into work. I'll report back with the specs when I get home!

Hmm! It appears I forgot to mention the plain GS Air tanks. I don't have any of those.

Interesting! I just noticed that the FT tanks come totally apart. The authentic Eleaf ones didn't. They were sort of glued together which actually made no sense because the parts are screwed together. Scared the you no what out of me a few weeks ago when I dropped one and it came apart.

The plain GS tanks were the Air's when I first started using them. Great tanks but also a bit of a pain because you had to use a tiny screwdriver to adjust the airflow.

Love screw adjust airflow! Set it and forget it... and don't have to reset it every time I screw the tank on and moved the AFC ring!

You could try bumping up the watts to 11 or 12 to see if it makes a difference.

That did the trick, thanks! I guess it would be obvious to the more experienced vaper, but it wasn't for me!
