The rule is that if you drop something on the floor and can pick it up within 5 seconds it's safe to eat. It usually applies to candy, but 5 seconds is still 5 seconds.

I waited tables when in school and this rule always applied... Better than having the customer wait for another meal prep.. that might effect the tip

Some people like a savory vape. If that's not you, I recommend wiping the drip tip off or at a minimum, shaking off the loose material.
