Not that I disagree, but let me tell you a little story. I was just starting out in the vaping world, fall of 2015, had my first setup ordered and on the way. An Ego One, I've since piffed it but I think it was a 2200mAh battery.
Anyway, I found out there was a vape shop that was only a couple blocks out of my normal route to and from work, decided I'd stop in and see what they had, maybe be able to start vaping a couple days sooner that way. I walk in, there is nobody behind the counter. There are a couple young guys (couldn't have been much over 18) flirting with a barely dressed girl who I doubt was 18, blowing what seemed to me to be massive clouds at the time. I look over their stuff for about 10 minutes (by the way, more than half the store seemed to be devoted to something other than vaping, ie glassware, if you get my drift) Finally after 10 minutes, and no sign of an employee, I head for the door. Now one of the kids asks if he can help me.
Nope, you were too busy trying to get some from the half naked chick, you lost your chance to help me. First and last time in that store.
Another vape shop I found nearby, big prominent sign on the door declaring that no one under the age of 18 is allowed inside. Not going to state my opinion on if that rule should be required or not, but..if you post that sign, you better enforce it in my opinion. First time I went into that one there was a kid (maybe 7 or 8) in there with his father. So I never went back to that one either. Neither store ever saw a dime from me and never will.
Third store I found in my area, they were helpful, they were respectful, they didn't try to push anything specific on me, and they were willing to answer any questions I had. They were more focused on the juice side of things so their hardware selection was quite limited, but I ended up buying my second setup from them, an Aspire Odyssey kit, the original version, even though I knew I was paying about 50% more than I could have ordered it online. That store has continued to get some degree of my business for nearly 2 years now.
I do think we should support the local businesses but I also think they need to earn our business, Indigo earned mine, the other 2 did not.
Yep... I'm not saying we should support poor service and law violators... I'm just saying we should support locals when possible.

There was another shop about 50 miles north that I stopped in. He had a poor selection of older gear at newer prices. I opted to buy some juice. Spearmint, IIRC... he walked to the corner of the room, pulled out a bottle of nic, a bottle of flavor, a bottle of VG, and proceeded to mix the e-liquid by eye... no syringe, no scale, bo visible recipe. I never went back... He has since gone out of business... Thankfully!

The funniest part of this is, when the local shop opened, he showed up and tried to talk the owner into hiring him as a consultant for $800 per month AND commissions.

puffers of toots....question for the tinkerers (is that a real word?)

anyone know where to get metric screws? I'd like a kit, with different sizes, in different lengths. preferably brass, but I'd take stainless too. NOT hex. Phillips or Flat head.

$55 plus free shipping here. They have the Metallic Bronze 2.5, White 2.5 and the Silver Mini's left.
I bought a white one on Monday and got my shipped email yesterday.
Provari 2.5
This company has a ton of the colors and some Classics, a bit pricey though.
provari

It arrived today!!! So pretty :wub::wub:
A special surprise in the box... it came in a Provape box and extension cap!

Actually I *think* the word is tinkers? But I use tinkerers for the sake of being understood.

The screw kits sound like a Lowe's or Home Depot item. Might even show up on their websites? Actually a good Ace Hardware store often has a better selection of tiny stuff. If ya got one support it! We lost the one in my neighborhood.

Went to Home Depot few hours ago for some sprinkler heads. Figgered while there I'd ask about some 10-11mm steel balls (ball bearings) that I need. Almost got laughed outta the store.

A tinker is 'a person who travels from place to place mending metal utensils as a way of making a living'. A tinkerer is someone that tinkers.

I get the impression the little tiny screws and orings that we use are hard to find except online. They're smaller than the more commonly used stuff. I could be wrong, of course.

Fasttech has some kits. An bolt and nut supplier would be the best bet.

This is speciality stuff you are looking for.

Haven't had occasion to try, but I've read that a hobby shop catering to RC devices may be a good source.

I use the Nautilus 1.8 coils, but recently used the 1.6s as that's all I could get at the time but I think both are pretty decent & the Triton mini coils were actually not bad, they just didn't last long enough. I was getting four days out of them :(
I just picked up the Triton mini a few days ago, playing around with what coil would go best with it. The .7 ohm new Nautilus coil turns it into a mini lil sub tank.... but I really want to make it a Mtl tank..
Why do you like the 1.8 better than the 1.6 nautilus coil?
It's been soo long since I tried the 1.8 in my N mini I forgot why I don't use it. Might wanna give it a whirl again.
Thanks h00ligan! I'm going to see if I can find the .7 Nauti 2 coils at eightvape and I may pick up a Nauti2 too. I think my Kabuki is the original Kabuki, but I've never had any problems at all with it. I don't have an authentic Vika Fantasy, but the FT Vika Fantasy clone is fantastic! I've had it for a few months now, and the quality is so good I stopped thinking about getting an authentic Vika, but I may try to pick up the Vika Fantasy Lite, which is an authentic, but for some reason, sells for only $30.

I've got a pile of the older Nauti Mini coils, but I am definitely interested in getting the .7 coils pretty soon.

Thanks for all of the great info and tips. I look forward to reading your review & comparison of the Kabuki vs. Nauti2.
I've been using the Nautilus.7 coil for a little bit in my N mini. It is rated 18-23w but you get great flavor out of it even at 15-17w. It's growing on me. It's kinda nice that it has range. I notice that you can keep bumping it up from 15+ through out the day... morning low watts by the end of the day I sometimes push it more if you want that extra punch.

Lowes has them. DH works there so I asked him.

Will this work:
https://www.amazon.com/475pcs-Metri...28&sr=8-1&keywords=metric+screws+philips+head

If not, lots of other options on Amazon and if you have Prime then free ship on many.

By the time any stores popped up in my area, I was three-plus years vaping, and already giving my business to people I'd come to know and like.

The industry will change much (we are but a microcosm), and all that may soon change too - but for now I remain to a loyal client to my past.

Plus, well, not really BUYING too much anymore. Now I just whip whatever out.

So to speak. :blink::blush:
