I use the coil master and I like it but I haven't used anything else so I have nothing to compare to it.
I get it, the drugs are expensive. I paid the price because there's no way I could have watched him slowly starve to death but it definitely chafed a little.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. We just got done. It was rough on the kids but they insisted to be there.
Rain I did not mean my comment as critisism. Only as an explanation. Now that I am no longer working in the business, when I have to take mine to the vet those costs get to me too.

You are a good pet mom to give your little guys the final gift of a merciful death. It's so hard for childern to understand. And we as moms feel so helpless to ease our kids' pain.

I remember crying twice as an adult. When my dad passed and then again 18 years later when my mastiff passed in my arms. It is difficult losing a loved one, be it parent or companion. Yes, losing my dad hurt, to this day I feel that loss.
Cheyenne was my "little "girl, even at 240 pounds. Both mom and I miss her and I would love to get another "puppy " like that but my work schedule doesn't give me much time off and my mom is up in age. My wife's schedule is worse than mine and a puppy needs lots of attention and care.
Rain, be happy you had your pets for as long as you did, cherish the memory.

So sorry, Dear. It's NEVER easy to send a beloved family member "over the rainbow bridge". All my "kidz" are 4-legged, and I've had to do this a number of times. It's painful for us, but at least the critter can be at peace..... Hugs to you.....

A reasonable lesson for the 2-legged kids. Not sure how the youngest ones will be, but it is our life cycle and will eventually happen all the way around......

Pork Chop (black) and Bacon (brown). Had to put Porky down a few months ago, now it's Bacon's turn. My piggy boys. They have a gigantic enclosure in the dining room so they were always well socialized with the family, talking to us and yelling for more food. I'll miss them. No more pets in our house now and the kids are super bummed about that. It's not easy to communicate putting an animal to sleep because they are old and sick to a 4yo.

Well after you've had your time to grieve and digest the sadness to a palatable level you will know when it's right for another pet.
I'd like to offer my personal appreciation for not treating the piggies like disposable pets. Too many people treat animals that way and it's really great to see someone who cares so much and is treating them right. Good for you and way to teach the value of life to your family.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's never easy. I'm sure you can reflect fondly upon the time you all had together and have lots of smiles from the joy they brought into your life.

Yah they're one of my go to vendors also. Glad to see it didn't ruin them. Good staff. Good prices. Fast shipping.

Coil building theory question:

If you had the options of building a 2mm-3mm ID coil, what would you build?

Just thinking that a 2mm ID coil would be longer than a 3mm coil at the same resistance, and coils heat up from the center outward... wouldn't a shorter length coil be advantageous? i.e., a 3mm ID coil.

You also have to consider mass. Larger coils take longer to heat up and cool down. I'm personally a big fan of 2.25mm coils for mtl vaping. You typically also don't want to go wider than the air hole. Also try spaced coils if you haven't. If you tightly spaced a coil you get. Ore surface area for heating due to radiant heat. 2.25 mm and Six wraps tightly spaced usa. Great build.

We are to assume the same resistance? In that case, a 2.5 mm ID would be a happy medium. What you are saying is true, but the more wraps also equate to a larger coil/wick surface exposure. Usually a 6 or 7 wraps is a good coil. At some point, a higher number of wraps starts defeating the purpose.

I'm a big fan of 6 wrap coils. Spaced or otherwise. I find doing more wraps creates too much mass also.

Question re. coil jigs: Which one do you like the most? (Preferring a screwdriver or drill bit or something that's not a coil jig counts.)
The geek vape set. I much prefer it over the coil master v3 see below.
Coil Masterisk v3, the posts are longer.
The coil master rods arenjce but I often want to detach the rid for the placement portion. The way they changed the tool so you nownscrew on a top cap makes his process arduous to say the least. The geek vape kit has long rode too with magnetic handle so you can quickly detach. It also cokes with a hex but and two flatheads along with a philips. One side of the handle takes the tool bits the other takes the winding rods. It's all held in a kit with a rubber holder so it's very very convenient.

Here are photos of the geek vape kit. Yes my dog is still shedding like a mini beastie. The widening tool is around $11 for the geek vape.

This is what he tool looks like with rid in place. It has holes to wrap either direction and cokes with three double sided wind ends.

I'll post a link to the kit in a moment if I can find it. I do own the coil master v3 as wel but I never use it anymore.

Edit. I'm sorry there are four winding bits not three. The kit does the following mm wraps. And I love the 1/4 and 3/4 sizes

1.5
2
2.25
2.5
2.75
3
3.5
4

Wow!! 3f has he good style full geekvape kit for $35. I paid $55 and they supposedly stopped making them. If anyone wants tools even if you have some this kit is AWESOME

They don't seem to have just the coil winder anymore so you'll have to google for it. But even though I had most tools and a meter I'm still happy I bought this kit because it is so good and stores away so nicely.

If you don't want to go that route I suggest either getting a grid -it from amazon or using a pencil bag to keep everything together.

I feed the wire through the hole beneath the screw driver shaft to where it comes out beneath the set screw.I hold the wire end tight with my thumb while I wind the wire around the shaft with my other hand.
The hole on the bottom is where the 510 attie base is placed so I can set the coil in the atomizer.

The screw driver shafts sizes are 2mm 2.4mm and 3mm. the handles were lopped off with a dremel and the tips were ground off with a file.

I've been waiting for them to open again too. Great deals. They are my official Eleaf Pico dealer for $26. I'll probably get another one as soon they open again.

@RainSong as a fiber artist farmer raising sheep and goats and llamas and alpacas and cats and dogs and chickens, most every one of our critters is a pet... as you might imagine, you have my deepest sympathies...

Looks like I missed a bunch yesterday... lemme try to get caught up a bit...

I have the Coil Master V3 both as a jig, and in the big clamshell kit

had a Kuro Koiler but PIF'ed it
Kuro_Coil_Jig_Set_11pc.JPG
have a Tobeco block style but only use it as an atty stand, anymore
coil jig 2.jpg
have a Tenna Jig and kinda like the cleverness of it... Tenna, as in Antenna... get it?
tenna.jpg
but keep coming back to the multi-mandrel... it's just convenient...
coil jig.jpg
Of course, I have a full suite of bitty screwdrivers, too, and the ceramic sticks...

I spent the day yesterday traveling with The Wife. We did a little craft demo, saw a movie (Pirates), bought an Angora goat buck (yeah... I know... crazy, right... apparently The Wife had seen a buck she wanted to add to the flock in a Facebook post, so we stopped by and... we'll be going to fetch him in a couple weeks), had dinner (David's Burgers... wow!*). Throughout all of this, I used just 2 mods and 2 tanks... kinda running a side-by-side showdown... Neither one a tootler, though...

We also stopped at several vape shops... alas... I'm better equipped than most shops... I bought nothing... However, this brings up a rant... brace yourselves...

I'm getting a little sick and tired of Smok. Sure, their mods are pretty good, but their current run is damaging the industry at large. Damaging? Yup... B&Ms, trying to cater to such a diverse crowd, have sunk so much money into the gotta-get-em-all mentality created by the 564435 color combinations the Alien kit is available in, they're carrying little else... very few starter kits, no mechs, no rebuildables... just stacks and stacks of multi-colored alien kits. Meanwhile, in order to get any traction at all, other companies are trying the same thing... so there are now 36545 Therion colors, 43345 Predator colors, 43345 iStick colors which makes it look like there are very few DEVICE options... scan FastTech's TC Mod category... page after page of Aliens and Therions... Sooner or later, the demand for these kits will drop, and I can see thise B&Ms left holding dozens of these mods which will be so devalued by the flood, that they'll be lucky to move them at cost. This behavior has stifled innovation... why come out wuth something new and better, when you can slap a different coat of paint on something old and keep right on selling? And, in spite of the percieved personalization opportunities, it's making thing LESS customizable... skin manufacturers must be hurting... If I had my druthers, there'd be 5 color combos... stainless, black, white, brass/gold, copper. Any further customization can be achieved with skins/wraps/battery door/panels...

End rant...

*David's Burgers is apparently an Arkansas only chain at the moment, but WOW! If you like burgers and are ever passing through... They serve fresh-from-the vat fries like Mexican joints serve chips and salsa... you never run out. The burgers were seasoned and juicy. I got mine with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayo. The Wife, being gluten free, got a burger steak smothered in mushrooms and onions. And, the service? I was so impressed I left a tip... at a burger joint... where I had to order at a counter... that NEVER happens!

That burger and fries looks gooood! I just hope you get more fries than what's shown there. I like about 3 times that many. I loves my burgers and fries. :)
The fries are all you can eat... they keep bringing them as long as you're eating them...

:offtopic:

Okay - WAY OFF TOPIC - However, I don't know where else to go and post this, but I Need info & some suggestions that I can trust are sound . . .

I did a lot of research in the past few days and have gotten totally frustrated with all the overwhelming information that is out there (just like I do with any other conversations dealing with technology & electronics today) . . .

Given this - I would appreciate a little assistance from all Ya' that are more technology minded and even more savvy about electronics then I can ever be . . .

AND - So the thread does not get bogged down with reply's - Please send "Me" a PM . . . THANKS ! ! ! :D

Long story short, even though I have an assigned parking space (re: disability accommodation -ADA), I live in senior housing complex that has open parking lots for residents only. Worse is that a majority of the other tenants living here should not be driving - AT ALL ! ! ! "My" vehicle has been scratched (even keyed a couple of times - by someone who resents that I have an assigned parking space and they don't), dinged, and dented way to often. However, the complex management says they cannot (or better said - will not) do anything about it without prof of who is the culprit.

So I want and NEED one of those in car security cameras/"Dash-Cam" (as unobtrusive & inexpensive as possible that works) which I can self-install, especially one that can "SEE" around the car (Front & back of car)- particularly at night and can detect motion when someone is around my car or hits it and inadvertently damages the car by "accident" when it is parked . . . I have seen a number of them that strap on to an existing rear-view mirror or need a professional to install and are available at prices that range from a low of $10.00 (direct from China "Albaba"/FastTech) up to $500.00 + installed (NOT GONNA HAPPEN) . . .

So anyone have any suggestions or want to point "Me" in the right direction ? ? ?

Swap the mayo for ketchup and I'm there. :)

My sister knows someone that butchers a cow (grass fed) every so often and makes hamburger from the whole thing. She gave me 2 of the 20 pounds she bought and it was the best I've ever eaten. The next time he does it I'm going to buy 20 pounds my self. Or maybe 30 or 40.
