The Home HP PC almost caught on fire here the other morning.
I awoke to my wife yelling FIRE,FIRE...I jumped out of bed and ran into the livingroom and I could see smoke waftingup from behind the couch,but I couldn't see any flame.I pulled the couch out and noticed the smoke coming out from the computer's exhaust fan beside the couch.
I grabbed the power cord and unplugged the darned thing.I took off the side and could smell burnt plastic, upon further inspection I found the problem.
The sata to molex cable from the DVD burner to mother board was melted on the DVD end.
My DVD burner got fried but fortunately and suprisingly the computer still works.
The PC is a reconditioned HP that I bought for cheap just over a year ago.At the time I thought we didn't need a fancy dancy brand new one and it'd do just fine for a bit of downloading,surfing the web
and for posting/reading here plus it's one of the few computers that still came with Windows 7 on it.
Next computer bought for this house is gonna be brand new.
Phew.... this event could have been alot WORSE and thankfully it wasn't!

so WHO did the RECONDITIONING ? was it HP or an outside source ?
sounds like a low quality CABLE, perhaps ?
I get asked a lot - I always tell people that Reconditioned is better due to the fact that the unit is not 'cookie-cutter' built, but somebody took the time to check it out...
if the price is GOOD , take the chance is what I typically suggest (but from a reputable vendor)
Toolman i had to place another order at Amazon. So i ordered 30 more of those deck screws for my Kompact Kayfuns.
Congrats i too am a wine maker. Made it since long before i was old enough to drink.

Refurbished item goes through a better Quality Control (QC) test than new because they never want to see that item again.
I dont get all refurbished items. I only get refurbished items with a warranty.
Sure. I got 10 as a test to see if they fit correctly before stocking up.

Everyone told me not to get it because the 4S for all intents and purposes is dead as a phone.
I didn't. Care. Not going to use it as a phone.
I LOVE the Retina display. I use the iPhone to read kindle books, watch videos i bought on itunes when i used another 4S for more than two years. And downloading Netflix shows.
I LOVE SERIES 4 and 5 of iPhones i will never get series 6 and above. Apple is making them too darn thin.
I just picked up a refurb 64gb 4s for my wife. She likes to have all her music and finds the 4s size and thickness are very tolerant of putting in her jeans pocket.

LOVE EM! Its a full featured iPad that fits in your pocket.
If i could use the 4S as a phone it's all i would use.
The 4S you can listen to music or podcasts for hours even though it only holds about 1,440 mah but i could use it all day even though i listened to 6 hours of pofcasts through bluetooth ear piece.
I moved out here in the middle of nowhere anf the service plan for it didnt work out here.
So i had to get an android phone that would work here.
This honking monstrosity is power greedy to the extreme. It takes 4,500 mah to charge it and if i listen to a 3 hour talk show podcast through blue tooth or read kindle books for 3-4 hours that 4,500 mah battery is DEAD! I often have to charge this stupid android twice a day. Meaning it eats one of my 10,000 mah battery pack EVERY SINGLE DAY.
The iPhone i can read my kindle books for 3.5 days on ONE charge, and my 10,000 mah battery pack can charge my iPhone SIX TIMES!
I LOVE series 4 and 5 of the iPhone.

My monstrosity wont even work as a WI-Fi hot spot. Verizon is the only thing that works out here.
My android is only 1/2 inch longer and 1/4 inch wider than my 4S but i never saw a phone this power hungry!
I found s complete kit Pico with MELO for $19.97 on eBay a few months ago.
I bought two of them and it took a very long time to arrive from China and they. Checked out authentic. After testing both i put them in my stash.
I'm looking for a white one and I didn't want to have a long shipping wait.
I think the "turkey " code is still active got Rocky Mountain vape; comes out to around $24 shipped!
