At least you'll get your money out of it. I've noticed 2.5's selling for $100+ lately on ebay, so ProVaris have returned to holding their value and then some!
There are two reasons why i would let the Provari go.

1. It cant go less than 1.2 ohms. My preferred resistance is .8 ohms.

2. Dobt know if an 18350 or 18490 battery would get me through the day.

Sometimes, I can't do it with my eyes open. Would you tell me about those replacement screws?

Wrapping coils. I can do it with my eyes closed. 2mm rod and 8.3 wraps of 26 gauge Kanthal gives me a .78-.83 ohm.

I got replacement deck screws for Kayfun so installing coils is way easier.

@ToolmanTexas told me about them. The bottom of the screw heads are perfectly flat.

My left hand us messed up from Duprodens Contracture. Only my thumb and index finger on my left hand work.

The screws that came in the Kayfun i had to try 10 times or more just to trap the first lead. After switching svrew heads i can usually trap the fist lead in 2-3 tries

That's how I feel too. Given my age and life expectancy I think I have enough hardware to last me, plus a few extras in case what I have doesn't last as long as I hope.

But every now and tgen I question myself: what if they last less, what if I live longer than expected, what if…Then I start thinking about buying some more. The new FDA guy is in now but who knows for how long and who knows what happens later on. What to do…sigh!

Which will bother you more. Not having a vape when you want one or being buried with a bunch of unused stuff. I have planned for 30 years. I could last a lot longer than that but will cross that bridge then.

@listopencil is technically correct that vaping can't be stopped because simple setups can be created for vaping purposes. @qorax did a vid about it awhile back, linked below (if you aren't subscribed to @qorax youtube channel you should be!!).

BUT, there are many reasons that people choose to stock up. Perhaps you have tried a KF on a Provari and you know that it is a unique vape in and of itself and cannot be replicated. You decide this is a setup you can use for the duration of your life, so you decide you are going to stock up on the RTA and the mod that you love, so you load up on KF atties and parts and a good stock of Provaris. You are set and decide to now put your funds elsewhere (DIY, Nic, your other hobbies, etc.).

Another motivation or maybe together with the above you decide you aren't going to wait for the govt to restrict your favorite vaping devices, so you stock up on your favorites. Then there is no regulation that will be able to come between you and your favorite vape setup.

You know that push come to shove you could rig up some type of mech and a dripper but based on your motivations above you decide that is not for you (that choice is ALWAYS there), so you stockpile what you love and then cease purchasing. Or you only invest in some high end stuff that you want to try every now and then for hobby purposes.

Those are the reasons many of us choose to stock up on the rigs that we love (you will never simulate a Provari hit using a mech, and vise versa). So, why shouldn't I stock up on Provaris (or whatever)? If it fits my style and I love it there is no reason to wait (including the company may go out of business or stop manufacturing my beloved device :)).

If push came to shove I could vape on the SVD2 carrying case.

I would ask, why wait until then... you can get outstanding mech mods today (clones and authentics) for a very, very low cost investment (especially the clones), some are < $10. Get a dozen, stash 'em back and be set for a lifetime no matter what happens.

My thoughts anyway, I don't want to wait to make a mod out of a flashlight when I can have several outstanding mechs waiting in the wings ready to go at a moments notice.

My mech stash was bought first. I have enough of them to not have to worry. Then I bought regulated in quantities so I would never have to use them.

I read that statement by you before and think that is a brilliant approach, buy mechs for back up stash and then enough regulated that you would never have to use the mechs.

Of course, that predicates on the fact that you don't prefer mechs, which many do, so load up on both LOL!

I don't own any mechs and don't really want any. I bought a bunch of the Aspire CF Mods and Innokin SVD2 kits instead for my stash. They're things I know I'd use if push comes to shove.

At this point in time I don't prefer mechs. They are just sitting in the basement as insurance.

No, I can honestly say I won't be going to TC. I'm a very low v/w vapers with higher ohm coil. Like right now my coil is showing 2.3 and I'm vaping at 5.4 w

Don't think I have to worry about how hot my coil is getting ;)
You and me both. Not interested in TC, I use provaris 24/7. I don't think I have to worry about hot coils either considering I vape 1.5-1.8 at 3.3-3.4V!

Well thought out.

How to turn something of everyday things into a vape device is buried in the threads here on ECF.

If things should go that sour, those smart members will be more than willing to help out. You should see what they've turned into mods. Altoid tins, little flashlights...

There are even YouTube videos that take things step by step. From what to buy, to how to put them together.

Really interesting reads. Yeah, I spent a lot of time reading old threads. :p
I'Ve seen the vids and poured through threads about mechs. Iteresting reading but not interested in doing. Not for me.

When I found out what the government planned to do I bought what I think is enough for my ever. Since I'm a provari girl through and through I have enough of them although I wouldn't mind having a couple more for extra insurance. And I have several other mods I stashed away for those times when it might be fun to vape on something else for a while. Plus I have several icares I use for stealth situations and I also always throw on in my purse when I go out for more than a couple hours.

And of course lots of tanks and nic. I believe I'm set.

'Cause I have a lot of a very dependable mod as backup. ;)

Even if this mod fails in 5 years, I have enough to last me 35+years. :p

Stored with packets to keep moisture at bay, they should last my lifetime.
That's how mine are stored too. Good insurance.

I think we are in agreement. That is what I'm saying also, stock up on what you love and don't wait until you have to make a mod out of a flashlight as @listopencil is choosing to do.
Xactly!

Which will bother you more. Not having a vape when you want one or being buried with a bunch of unused stuff. I have planned for 30 years. I could last a lot longer than that but will cross that bridge then.
I don't think I'll have that problem with what I own. And when I'm gone I won't have to worry about what's left behind!

That's what I vape at, too, most of the time...like with my KFL+ shorty tanks and others on my Coolfire IV and other mods. Using the Nautilus Mini, I go to 4V, but that's about it.

Now that I have a bunch of the little Ego One tanks though, and they came with 1.0ohm CL coils...I'm really liking them! When I start using the CLR coils in them though...I'll build them at 1.5-1.8 hopefully, though some may end up slightly lower, which is also OK.

Have a stash now of Provari 2.5 and a couple Classics, but haven't even put a battery in any of them yet. Been too busy slowly trying other things I've bought before I bought them.

Um, might be a good idea to at least run one battery cycle through the new ones, just to be sure they work now. While no guarnatee of future performance, it they don't work now is the time to find out! :2c:

I have a moderate stash of regulated mods, and they've all had a test run before storage.
