Been sick all night, had ........ every hour, on the hour, upset stomach and cramps, just lousey! I just tried my hand at Grimm's fuse Clapton's, using .8x.1 Kanthal and 30ga. My swivel didn't cooperate the first round, my brain failed to cooperate the second round, that's a day. I was hoping to make something to go in that silly Avocado.

Nothing more humbling than a good case of the back house trots!

I fried the 1.6 ohm BVC coils on my KBOX at 13w and the initial setting was 8w so I'm guessing somewhere in between is best for the coil. As far as the CE5 I'm guessing less than 5w but I want to know what y'all think.

I'm thinking the CE5's topped out at around 7-10w, but it's been a long time and I've tried to sleep since then!

13W is too high, start around 3W and slowly up it, just to be safe.

I think I have found my substitute for LR 510 atties. Derringer clone RDA. You can close that sucker down tight for MTL, it's super easy to build, and has decent flavor. I built it with a single 1.5 ohm coil, and it's working out great. Going to try a dual coil build next time. The only thing I did was switch out the small drip tip it came with for a longer one (personal preference). The atty does spit a bit, but I will get used to that.

Alright @TrollDragon round two with the Avocado, I just twisted two pieces of the ribbon Kanthal, .8x.1mm, got a .74 ohm coil, 4mm is too big for this I'm finding out, but it's more better, flavor still seems a tad muted to me, but better, it's no where near as hot and even at just 20w it sounds like a rattle snake is caged up inside the top cap!

Well, I made it back from my Georgia trip but my return was bitter sweet. My friend and fur baby Carmella Marie passed away. When I separated from my wife I got her as a rescue so the kids would have a pet when I had them. My daughter was 4 then and now she's 19. I've been afraid of this happening but know she's in a better place. Over the last year or 2 she aged quite rapidly; lost her hearing, arthritis, loss of balance...

I know it's for the best, just wish I was here...

When I separated from my wife I got her as a rescue so the kids would have a pet when I had them. My daughter was 4 then and now she's 19. I know it's for the best, just wish I was here...

Thanks everyone. Was never really a "cat" person but couldn't have a dog in the apartment. She really grew on me though and was always there. The kids are grown and gone now and she was good company even though she'd be trying to lay on the keyboard right now and knocking over mods lol...
