Ego megas are 22mm in diameter and 2600 mAh (maybe 2500). They last me a whole 12 hour shift of sneak vaping.

If you are wanting something different than a Kfl perhaps a coppervape Hussar w mtl 1.3 insert or an sxk doggy style?i've just watched some of PBusardos review for the russian and the russian 2.0 and he measured the center pin hole size and it's around 3.0 mm as opposed to the around 1.5mm of the kfl/russian91%.
so i'm not sure anymore it would be suitable for a restricted MTL.
Thanks David...And since I'm sure there are other devices in the future...If the only reasons are to learn and the Naut2 tank...Then the Aspire is probably a good choice for now...TrigEstimated / average service life of most lithiums is based on full recharge cycles, and is pretty much the same for either built in or replaceable.
In general, the battery will reach end of life before the electronics. With a built in, well, you'll either have to have some good luck sourcing the exact pack for the specific mod AND some skills in dis- and re-assembly and good soldering skills - or you toss the whole thing, even though it would work fine if it had power.
These days, there's no real safety difference between them, other than the user. It is possible for, say, a cloud chaser to use a replaceable that isn't rated for the power they use and thus cause a battery failure. That clearly won't happen with a built-in, which will (should!) just shut down if the user tries to vape at too high a level for it.
Yeah, most of the newly released devices are in kits.... but you can often find older (last week's??) models without the kit factor, and often - especially for us t'puffers, at greatly reduced prices. But even if not, as you say it can be a backup topper, or be pif'd.
Eventually you will want to delve into replaceable battery mods. The mods are generally cheaper and you have more flexibility with them. There is no rush however. To get the most benefit from replaceable batteries you need to buy some spares and an external charger, and a sleeve or container of some sort so you can carry a spare safely.So...I managed to get my Knickers In A Wad over thinking about the whole "Fixed Battery" vs "Replaceable" issue and which way to go...I guess my main misconception(?)is that Fixed are inherently safer...Maybe not so much...A cheap fixed ain't much better than a cheap replaceable...And with the replaceable when I buy a Samsung from a trusted vendor I know exactly what I got...Even those could fail...And By-Pass charging for either is fine with me...
The other thought is which is more likely to die 1st...The Mod or the Batteries ? What's the reasonable life expectancy for good 18650's ? What's the reasonable life of a Pico / Baby...Mod Only ?
All that being said (babbled) I have decided on the Aspire Zelos...At the worst I get a Nautilus 2 which I wanted anyway and that Mod is VV VW & TC which seems like a perfect learning device as well...And maybe I'm just missing it but most/all of the decent Mods with replaceables are Kits Only ?...I'm sure I wouldn't be the 1st person to ignore an included tank and keep it as back-up...Blah Blah Blah...Ya' Think I'm Cracked Yet ?
We Learn As We Do...And I do try to learn something each and every day !!!...Trig![]()
Yep...And I do have a bit of resistance to an external charger...I'm a single guy and I can only vape one Mod at a time so By-Pass charging will probably be fine for me with replaceables...Hell...Halloween is right around the corner...I don't need to wait for Xmas...Or maybe Happy September 23rd !!!...Eventually you will want to delve into replaceable battery mods. For me, shopping for and buying mods is fun and buying batteries and chargers is not. The zelos kit seems like a logical upgrade for you. That Nautilus 2 has a silky vape to it that I haven't found elsewhere yet. It doesn't have the level of flavor as an RTA, but I don't notice it if I start the day on the nautilus because it's that close.
You seem to making that change from "ex smoker" to "hobbyist" and the zelos mod should give you a few avenues to explore without "needing" to buy another mod.

Ah...So its not unreasonable to think I'd get at least a years usage out of the Aspire ?Backups for your backups backup.
The best device on the market is the one you are happy with.
My preferred mods are internal and I know they will be scrap in a few years unless I decide to rebuild them and I am good with that.
The stash are all replaceable batteries that should give me decades of service.
Thanks Anna...I Always Appreciate Your Thoughts...The Aspire does sound like my best...1st Choice...TrigTrig, I have the aspire zelos as my backup mod. I really like it as a backup though normally I wouldn't buy an internal battery, but I have loved aspire products and knew I would like the backup tank, as well. It's light, and small, and easy to carry around in my purse, unlike my steampunk. Even MY purse (it's black, and also a black hole) might take issues to two steampunks. Heh. My experience with the zelos is that I enjoy the vape, it's a great setup, with good battery life. I've used it a fair amount to switch up flavors and I'm still on my first charge.
*Ideally*, batteries would last for less time than the mod, but that is not always the case, though eventually, an internal battery mod will be unusable unless the internal battery is replaced. Time frames on that depend on usage, as well, so you have to factor that into your considerations.
I started out this time with a 2 battery mod that my son gave me, so I got into replaceable batteries, which eventually led me to the Steampunk Tesla Nano 120, though it does have SOME issues (battery cover) it's a fantastic vape, much smoother and efficient than any other mod that I've vaped, and I'm glad I decided to mostly go the rechargeable/removable route as my battery life is so much better before recharging, since I'm using very low wattages. That said, I like both setups for different reasons, and I trust aspire's reliability honestly.
I hope you enjoy it, you can always take the Step Up if you want to, but you don't HAVE to.

I could be wrong (often am) but I think the normal expectation is around 300 or so charge/discharge cycles before you start noticing a drop in capacity.Ah...So its not unreasonable to think I'd get at least a years usage out of the Aspire ?
And I will have a replaceable at some point so eventually I'll find that Happy Spot...
Plus with the Spinners and the T18 I'll be great when the power's out for days !!!
That's what I've read too!I could be wrong (often am) but I think the normal expectation is around 300 or so charge/discharge cycles before you start noticing a drop in capacity.
+ 1@Trigster - I personally haven't hesitated at all about buying mods with internal batteries. Any/all of them I've bought have been $25.00 at the very most, on sale or Clearance. Regular prices were up to $72.99 for some of them!
I figure...even if they each only last a year, I've gotten the use from them for WAY less than the cost of just 1 carton of cigarettes that were ashes after less than a week!
By the way, I've only had 1 mod with an internal battery go "kaput" on me since I started vaping. I'm pretty sure, too, that one went at about 10 months...only because of a problem with my car cigarette lighter adapter I was using. Have had none give out on me that have been charged only in the house!
I buy both with full knowledge that any regulated mod will die eventually and choose each accordingly and price wise. For the price I pay for the internals they serve my purpose many fold.I have had 5 models of internal cell mods die over the years.
I've only had 1 mod taking replaceable batteries fail.
Just sayin...
