    TPuffers -

For as many NYEs as we've been together, I'd like to wish you all deep love, radiant health, many enchanted moments, and long-lasting, honest friendships in this newest of years.

Thank you all for the teensy but viable puffs we enjoy together.

I am honored to be here with you.

    I second that ^^^

We had my then prospective SIL for dinner, Princess said he was allergic to “peas of any kind”...I ASSumed peanuts only. First dinner ended with a md relative and an epi pen over green peas, so yes, I believe someone now if they say they’re sensitive to something. Allergies are weird.
Oh I don't doubt that for a second. My aunt is allergic to peanuts, soy, wheat, and a bunch of other things. She always carries an epi pen with her everywhere. And things can change in time. My dad for the first 40 years of his life could roll around in poison ivy and nothing ever happened. Then later he became highly allergic to it. Yes allergies are weird for sure.

I heard of people allergic to PG. But never to VG. Too me that is news. What's next? People allergic to vaporized nicotine but not smoked nicotine?

Bill, I have no real knowledge of allergies to PG or VG or anything for that matter, but have heard over the years that people say they are allergic to PG.

It seems to me that perhaps those allergies could also be in the realm of VG.

    I do not know.

I DO know tho, that a high percentage of VG makes me KWITE kongested and not happy lung-wise. I never thought of it as an allergy, but more of a preference to high(er) PG.

My favorite vendor made v-liquids in a 65/35 blend and that seemed to be my sweet spot. DPL would like his v-liquids to be a bit higher, even in the 80/20 range. And yet, we know MANY who like a super high VG.

    Ratios are subjunctive. ;)

And Happy Newest Year to you!

Wait a minute here 5cardstud, isn't it true if you start with vegetable oil and remove the fatty acids from it, you end up with vegetable glycerin?
Vegetable Glycerine (or vegetable glycerin) is a clear, colorless, thick liquid with a natural, moderately sweet taste. 100% food grade vegetable glycerine is comprised of 99.7% fatty esters, made from either coconut or palm oil (ours is coconut derived). The remaining 0.3% of vegetable glycerine is water.

That's derived from vegetable oil. That is what I am saying. Whether you make it from coconut oil, palm oil, or whatever oil. And when I taste 100% VG, it taste sweet, but also like vegetable oil. And when I vape it, I can go up to 80VG and not have that vegetable oil taste. Higher though then it starts to taste like vegetable oil to me.

Well I never heard of a VG allergy before. But what do I know? I am just surprised it can happen.

    Happy New Year 2019!

My first post on ECF in 2019.

Here in the UK is eight 'o clock now, Grey sky, and an eerie silence all around - after all the partying of tonight.

Enjoing tootle puffing this morning -together with a good expresso coffee, while awaiting the world to come back to their senses today.

Enjoy tootle puffing, again AUGURI for a wonderful year 2019...

I just started using 10% VG but for the past 11 yrs. I was vaping 100% PG. As far as how either are made truthfully I couldn't say. My expertise in the construction of either has been in removing the cap to the containers came in. Happy New Year one and all. It is officially 2019.

Me too. Especially in the colder months, Sept till May.

I have been bumping up my nic levels so I vape less and so far it is doing the trick. Haven't had any cold yet this winter. Will be playing with the PG levels this year to see where my sweet spot is.

My new year's resolution is to be more optimistic by keeping my cup half-full with either rum, vodka, or whiskey.
It's been a looooong time, but right now I'm in the mood to have my cup runeth-ing over with some of that stuff!

So how about our first review of the new year?
Some time back I posted in this thread (I think) that I had won an iStick Amnis/GS Drive kit. Had no intention of even opening the box. Well, that plan went out the window when I got home and had the new kit sitting there next to me with an updated GS tank. Plus I figgered the battery would give me a good indication of what to expect from the Pico Baby battery.

    Amnis battery:

Pretty much just a tiny high powered ego battery. Fires down to .3 ohm. Direct voltage. I started with a standard 1.5 GS coil and noticed power drop as soon as the battery indicator changed from green to yellow. Yet when I put in the .75 coil it has gone down all the way through green and yellow into the blue before the dropoff became noticeable. Weird, I would expect the .75 to drain the battery faster? Still the .75 is a huge step up in both flavor and vapor from the 1.5. Still TP-able tho, just take shorter quicker draws.

    GS Drive tank:

This is my first top fill tank. They've never interested me. The AFC ring is a huge improvement over my original GS Airs! It has the Cyclops style air holes, one on each side. I have to close it down to just a tiny sliver to get a nice draw from it, but it does work well. The big improvement over the original is NO LEAKING. If you vape the original down too low it will dump its contents into your battery. I do get the tiniest trace of seepage from the childproof/SENIORproof push button release for the topfill cap. Really not enuf to be a 'thing' for me. Oh, you do NOT want to mount this tank on a battery with a stationary center pin. First time I've ever had to pry up the center pin on my Evods was after mounting this tank on one.

Guess that's all I got. Any questions? Fire away. I'll leave you with a size comparison between the 900 mAh Amnis kit and my 650 mAh Evod with original GS Air.

    Edit:
Forgot to mention the proprietary drip tip on this tank. You can't change it. The top of the tank has a small nub sticking up that the driptip slides over. NO BLINGY DRIP TIPS for this one Kat.
