This "thing".
Not my daily driver, not the best power source, a clear compromise between price and features.
OBS removed TC, tenths of Watts, all possible options - it doesn't have a menu at all. But.
They used every penny they saved for a larger-than-average battery and excellent 510 connector. Compared to the Aegis mini, if you don't use TC, this is a much better choice, it lasts three times as much and the topper screws in fully.
So this morning I picked this because I couldn't devote too much time to life's finesses...
... Together with a little bunch of pods..

From left to right:

Geek vape Flint.
3 power levels - Pure MTL - power gets lower as battery drains. Replaceable good coils. The most rugged and best hand feeling. Many says is not a pod but an old-school eGo battery / clearomiser. It is much more than that, the tank is of an unique efficiency.

Smok Fit.
12 to 15 Watt fixed power level. Airy MTL -The power gets lower as the battery drains. Flimsy, but properly functional and of minimal mass. Good vape production. 15 W are necessary if your nic level can't go above 20 mg (EU law).

Geek Vape - Frenzy.
3 power levels - Pure MTL. Power is stabilised, uses replaceable coils. Best MTL all-rounder. Pod is one of best design around. This is the pod I would recommend to a Vaper.

Orchid Pod System.
Pretentious. Restricted DTL only. No replaceable coil. Vape is truly great with their mesh coil. Power is continously variable between 5 and 30 W, with one watt granularity.
The battery is much smaller than the advertised 950 mah capacity, and the max reasonable power is 20W. The plastic cradle which holds the pod, is of questionable design.

All of the above pod systems do not work well with High-VG e-liquids.

Greetings all! Been an ECF member for awhile but sort of drifted away. Moved from DL to mostly MTL setups and it looks like this is the place to be for MTL discussions. The pic is the current daily rotation

I spy an Ephro Mod 101. I have two of those, and for the money, I don't think you can go wrong with those. :)
it does a good job. It's not as pocket friendly as my 18350 mech/mosfet tubes but the additional battery life is great.

I just ordered the Eleaf Tance pod. My first pod device. It looks really good from reviews. It does 10 watts. I vape my low wattage MTL devices with 12 mg freebase juice. Will this be sufficient nic for the Tance? I never had salts before. What nic level of salts would be good at 10 watts? Or should I just get an 18 mg freebase? Thank you

    Hi Tommy!

I've been using salt nicotine (they get to charge more if they call it nicotine salts) for about 3 months now (I DIY). The only real difference between freebase and salt nicotine is that salt nicotine is smoother. That's it. But it was a difference that made it possible for me to up my nic to25mg, which got me off the cigs. I would never have been able to stand vaping 25mg freebase. I like my vape as smooth as possible. So my DIY recipe is 98%VG, 1% vodka, and 1% flavoring. Vape it at 7-11W and I'm in heaven!

Salt nicotine works just like freebase, other than that. I see the juice companies charge hugely for it. The price difference isn't as wide on the DIY side. Until a few weeks ago, LNW sold freebase and salt nicotines for the same price. All of a sudden, they started calling it "nicotine salts" instead of "salt nicotine", and raised the price. Still a good value, though.

BTW, it's called "salt nicotine" because the finished product is a slightly amber colored crystal. Freebase nicotine is a colorless, odorless liquid. I don't know where the term "nicotine salts" came from, but it refers to the same thing.

    Tootle on!
