Hi, could any of you kind folk help me out with some recommendations? A friend is looking for a tootle puffer style box mod, regulated, that'll last for the ages... I use mainly higher-powered mods so I don't really know what to tell him, other than the Provari Radius. But that's the basic idea of what he's looking for, something priced around $150 or so... Any suggestions? Thanks!

Depends a bit on the definition of "lasts for ages" I suppose. External battery is a must as anything with a li-po is going to eventually die, but honestly I don't think there is that much difference in longevity on most of the single battery box mods without jumping up to the Radius price range.

I'm inclined to suggest taking the $150 and buying multiple mods. Always good to have a backup anyway. I think the 18650 version of the Coolfire 4 is an excellent mod, my Evic VTC mini has seen a fair amount of use and abuse so possibly the Evic VTwo Mini would be another good choice.

Someone may come along with some better suggestions, but if I had $150 to spend on a mod, I'd be buying multiple cheaper ($30-$50 or so each) ones rather than one in the $150 neighborhood.

Most any mod can be used for tootle puffing. Just because a mod goes to 60, 85, 100w or more doesn't mean we have to.

I also recommend a mod that uses replaceable batteries. You probably just need to consider form factor. I have iStick Picos, evic vtc mini and vtwo. Wismec Presa 75 (which is awesome imho) a Reuleaux 75 and others.

With your budget, you could get a few different mods and still have lots of room for batteries and charger.

See if any shops nearby have any you can hold. What I like may be too heavy or too light for you

I'd second this and add that the CF4 18650 is great. I'm planning to pick up one or two more even though they're about $10 more than a Pico as they can take a tank up to 25 mm and they just feel good in the hand, even with a larger tank on. Two Picos can also work if you'll never go above a 23 mm tank. For strictly MTL, that should be fine as there are no giant MTL tanks.

Cool experience at the vape store today...free wire because of tootle puffin'.

My car got broken into and some of my stuff got stolen, including my last roll of 28 gauge kanthal and 28 gauge SS...

I went to a vape store and they didn't have any. The guy looked through everything and found a roll of 29 gauge kanthal. I said I'll take it, and he gave it to me for free. He said everyone uses thicker wire and builds low, so they stopped stocking it. Thanks vape shop guy! :)

Woot! Tootle find today! Wandering through the vape shop near the fairgrounds where the sheep show is (I'm in Guthrie Oklahoma at a sheep show...), and found a 14500 Bagua with a Scar RDA!

Pictures or it didn't happen. :)

Sorry about the car break in, but nice on the wire.

Nothing major was stolen. A cupful of change and a box of extra vape stuff I left in there. (I left it in there for a reason, but can't remember why for the life of me...lol)

Edit: I remember why now...we were going to my wife's grandparents house and we loaded up last night. I was going to rebuild some of their coils for them. Just in case anyone was wondering why I had a box of random vape things in my car. Lol.

Take a look at the Provape clearance section, they have v2.5's on clearance for $30-40, hard to find a more durable mod for that money! They could get two and still have plenty left for toppers!

In other news, with all this sqounk talk I just came across this little thing,
Pico Squeeze with Coral - iSmoka/Eleaf electronic cigarette

Just finished recoiling the microdrip...spaced 7 wrap, 2 mm ID, 1.5ish omhs, with some homemade mango, peach, pineapple juice...I'm in heaven. (At least until the kids wake up from their naps...lol)

Is that where the men are men and the sheep are skeered? Sorry, someone was going to go there!
    Nice score!

I'm inclined to suggest taking the $150 and buying multiple mods.

I have iStick Picos, evic vtc mini and vtwo. Wismec Presa 75 (which is awesome imho) a Reuleaux 75 and others.

I'll jump on that bandwagon as well, several rather than just one. Yes, Provape can fix it - if they survive the Dooming. So having several makes more sense to me.

And ALL need to be 18650 or other replaceable battery style. (Unless you really know your way around a soldering iron and have an actual source for the RIGHT lipo pack!)

The Pico is nice, my second is on the way. The Wismec Pressa75TC is a great choice, very comfortable to hold and use. The Realeaux 75 is a tad "chunkier", but also a good choice. Also in my stable is the Ola X Hero 30, a bit on the hefty side, but very solidly buiilt. All of those are 18650, work great at the low end for us tootlers.

Might also consider the Cloupor Mini 30+, another fine device.

What's nice about shopping for tootlers now is that, with the big rush to huge clouds and high power, many of the "low" power (up to 75 watts ) are not in high demand, so prices have taken a nice tumble for us.

    O.k. I'm STOKED!!!!!!!!

Rebuilt my KF V3 Mini this evening. 28g Nichrome, 2.5mm, 10 wraps. Just under 1.2 ohms. Best vape from this lil debbil yet. Running on Glovari like a BOSS!

A bit higher PG in my juice seems to be helping as well.... yee-haw!
