Speaking of squonking, here's one of my pride and joys. I don't have a picture of my copper vein REO mini which is my other pride and joy. Neither mods never leave the house.

The mini pt2 was the 2nd tank I used when I started vaping almost 3 years ago. I don't think mine was that tall on a spinner 2 or I guess I just didn't notice.

I don't know why I like the PTs so much, but they work for me! I know they're not the latest and greatest, but I like the flavor they give me. As a matter of fact, I ordered 5 more!

Yes, and I like non metallic tasting. Hopefully I'll get along better with this one than the k5

If there's a metallic taste you're getting, then washing it out won't help. It has to do with your coil. Metallic taste is usually the sign of a hotspot or hotleg. So remove the wick and pulse your coil. Check to see if it glows brighter in one spot than anywhere else. If that is so, then remove and rebuild. Also, when you pulse your coil, it should glow from the middle to the outside. If it doesn't, get that blue screwdriver and run it in one direction across the coil two or three times. It should glow evenly from the middle to the outsides of the coil now.

Thanks very much, @Muru

@Two_Bears when I was looking for Cheesako's blog for the link above I came across one of yours. You said in it that the KL+ V2 base is the best one made. I have the original plain KL+ base. What's the dif between them?
Simple.

The KFL+V2 has more airflow than KFL+.

It has a nice screw on the bottom to adjust airflow. You can tighten it down like a cigarette, or loosen it up for a restricted Lung hit.

But the real reason i say it is the BEST Kayfun ever made; is the combination of the KFL+ V2 with flat top bell cap.

1. Pull the deck to rebuild or wick
2. No need to dump Juice to tweak build
3. Bottom fill without using fill port
4. Light weight.
5. Pocket Friendly
6. Doesnt leak
7. Better flavor than most Kayfuns imho.
8. Old tech wick easily like the old Kayfuns. No stupid wall around build deck

Now you know why i wish Kayfuns had Post holes.

With 1 1/2 hands trapping leads under screw heads is a real PITA.
Post holes you say, you need to check out the Kayfun 3.1ES then...

3.1 deck sporting the FDV thumbscrews.

A really simple fix is to cut a pair of grooves in the deck with a small file. I do it to all my Kayfun style decks and never have a problem trapping wire.

You can cut them on the left side, the right side, or both side of the screw.

never understood why kayfin don't go velocity style with post holes i remember all too well the annoyance of trapping leads under screws.

Trapping leads under screw heads is a real pain in the never mind for me.

My left hand is messed up with Duprodens contracture. Only the thumb and index finger work on my left hand. The other fingers are curled up in my palm and useless.

Some times it takes 10-12 tries to trap the darn leads.

She uses a LOT of Protank attys, and she can't Dry burn coil or she will melt the insulator.

Once you get through the experimentation stage and sort out what you find works best for your tastes, vaping becomes easy. Nothing against trying out every new type out there, but finding what work consistently and gives you satisfying flavor is the real goal as far as I'm concerned. Manufacturers and resellers want us to keep chasing the next big thing to increase their bottom line.

The constant stream of new stuff makes what is great today obsolete tomorrow, then prices and availability drop rather quickly. That's prime time to score a bunch of what you prefer, sit back and know that you are self sufficient no matter what!
