Dryburning should be no problem with PT coils. Just keep it short-n-sweet ;) I did that for years without any problems, no insulators melting on me. But perhaps they've changed them since?
Every time i tried to Dry burn the coil on my evod about 1 second after it started to glow the grommet burned through and I had a dead coil and melted grommet.

Progressions? I started with a Haus by Mistic kit from Walmart after being unsatisfied with cigalikes. Of course, it was impossible to keep the batteries charged, so after running through every eGo battery up to 1000 mAh Twists, I decided to to upgrade to an original iStick 20. To go with that, I bought an Anyvape Davide that would yse either Protank coils or Aspire BVC coils. At the same time that I bought the iStick, I bought a Kamry K1000 18350 e-pipe. That came with a Kamry K6 tank... silica wicks (ugh), in no real way rebuildable (ugh ugh). Then, I found ECF. I won a Copper Overdose, a 2 bay charger, 2 x PVTSO 18650, and a Copper Little Boy. I also won a Kanger Subtank Mini. Sigh... In order to properly use these, I had to learn to build... up until this point, I had no interest in building... I discovered that building was quite rewarding, and I went nuts... I have not purchased ANYTHING that does not have a rebuildable section or is, in itself rebuildable since.

Today, for tootling, I have a new Smok Spirals tank on an eVic VTwo. For non-tootles, I have a Geekvape Karma on a Black Ring mech. I have the Digiflavor Pharaoh on a Noisy Cricket II-25, and a Kanger Dripbox 2 with the Kanger Subdrip 2.5.

Of course, there's a lot more at home... that's just what I brought to work.

For batteries... I know, now, that nothing but authentics from trusted sources should be used. The PVTSO batteries are only used in devices that require less than 15 amps... SVDs and Vamos, and the like...

My progression went from the original cig-a-like Logics for close to a year because I didnt know anything else existed. Then came my first "real" mod, a X2O proV Twist with an Aspire tank that takes BVC coils, then an Eleaf istick20 with a GS Air-MS tank. Last summer after I joined ECF I discovered building and juice making and the vapicalypse.

My next step was, and still is, Provari minis still with GS Air-MS tanks for my all day and a Pico with the same tank for when I'm gardening which is every day for a couple hours. For when stealth is needed I use an icare. Now and then I use my Kaufun Monster mini/KL+ base.

I'm strickly a Tootle Puffer. I have never been interested in squonking, or DL or cloud chasing or dripping. I'm happy where I am!

Chelsea that's quite a haul!

Mine was small. The Ego one and CLR coils arrived. Those coils are just a tad larger than the GS Air coils and look very much like them. I'm not sure how the 1.0 Ω will work for me because I use 1.5 Ω but I can recoil it if I dont like it.

That may be true with the rubber grommets. The silicone ones don't have that problem, and they don't taste like rubber either.

You have 18 months. You have enough to get going now. When you see something interesting, or at a price that you like, grab it. There is no need for hysteria, just pay attention.

I throw them in a box and cuss when I can't find the right ones...

I had them by category. But since I got such a big shipment today I am re-organizing them alphabetically

So even though they look different these will work on the joyetech bf RBA?

These will not work on your AIOs. BF now stands for 2 different things. Coils that are fed from the bottom (like the AIO and Cubis) and BF which for the longest time has stood for pins that go in an atomizer to make it a squonker.

How do I know if I like squonking?

Sent from my iPhone, please excuse any typos

Squonking is another way to "drip." I find it far more convenient to dripping, because the liquid is with you. If it is something that you want to investigate, buy an inexpensive squonk mod, and an inexpensive BF atomizer. If an atomizer that you like, comes with a BF pin, that would be ideal because you would already know that you like the way that atomizer tastes/vapes.

Kanger made a relatively inexpensive mod that is for squonking. If you are not used to "building for the mod" (meaning that you build for 3.7 volts as opposed to adjusting voltage to the build), then don't buy a regular dripbox or the frankenskull squonkers. Both are inexpensive, but both are not adjustable. It will be hard to judge if you like squonking if you don't know how to build for a squonker. The drip box comes with a "squonk atty" with premade coils, but I personally think that the atty is awful. (Others at differ on that opinion).

Squonking is finally becoming somewhat "mainstream," but it is still not easy to find good squonk mods on a budget. Make sure that you like it before you invest too much.

Thanks for that detailed explanation, pokes. Although I am intrigued, I think I'm going to hold off for now. Wait until I have more knowledge of vaping in general. [emoji4]
