I don't have a 5, but looking at your pic it should be pretty close. About 1-2mm, 2 may be a bit much even. I build a smaller coil than that in mine, a 2.5mm mandrel, because of the limited space, but again, I don't have a 5.
If you are using the same juice as you were in your TFV4, that is a VERY strong juice! It will taste sweeter on an rba deck than on a factory coil. Most factory coils tend to mute flavors some, some more than others. That may be why it's tasting so much sweeter, I seriously had to wash that tank out three times with alcohol and even then got a hint of tropical flavors with my tobacco juices!
When you say "smokey" are you meaning more vapor is produced? Is so that is because of the larger surface area of your coil and better air flow around the coil. Rba's aren't covered in wicking like most factory coils so with better circulation you get better flavor and vapor production.

Im sorry but you lost me at strong juice. I had Clapton in my tfv4... Did you mean it's strong of im using it with a factory coil? I couldn't use the factory coils no matter how high in ohms they were those things were humongous! Maybe it is the vapor production in not used too? Is alot of vapor with this v5. The most out of all of mine. I will try to move the coil closer to the hole next time n maybe that will help. Thank you!
