The new Goblin comes with two decks and the single coil deck looks very much like the Merlin I think.
Yup... and an optional 4 ml extension. Forgot about those... sigh... adding to cart...

Just an aside. I like Roxy, and I like the Merlin, but the deck was borrowed from the Big Buddha Mini :)

Sorry Fuzzy, my attention was elsewhere
Would you believe my desktop background is actually a vaping picture? :) I mean, what about the cloud chucker blowing all that VG vapor behind Elvira? :D
(that's my excuse and it's sticking to me)

Yah and the Crius was in between the Buddha and the Merlin.

Three quick clicks of the fire button will switch you back and forth. But I doubt that is the problem.

Make sure your coils are firmly screwed down and making contact with the center pin.

I did try that, still no luck. Thank you.

I also love my Goblin Minis. Have the V1 and the V2. However, I do a lot of TC vaping, and I find that single coils behave a lot better. I love my single coil, mid-range air tanks... Monsters, Serpent/Serpent Mini, Bachelor/Bachelor Nano...

I am not a big fan of the single coil afapters, I find... odd... I waited months to get the Zephyrus V1 (the first to offer such a thing [well, ok, the Aqua II did it, kind of, first]), and I hate using 'em. In the new Genesis-style atties, they're ok... Calyoso, Theorem, Avocado, Limitless+...

Yes, that's the one.

Even at 30watts on the istick30, it still gives the "atomizer low" message. But there's just the tiniest amount of something trying to vaporize. Too low to call it a vape. I guess I didn't read the details on this tank before I bought it, I love that I can play with the airflow so much. But until I get a tc battery, I guess i can't use this tank.

You can use it, but you might have to purchase some non-tc coils. GS coils are available in .75 and 1.5 ohm variants, too... maybe more...

Ok, took a recovery break, that was anything but recovery, another story!
Anyway, @Uncle as the others said, you are way over complicating TC! It took me a little while to sort it out in my head as well. At first I thought you just left watts maxed and set your temp, unless you like a really hot vape, don't do that!
Think of the wattage you vape at as how fast you reach the temp. At 10 watts it's going to take a while to reach temperature, at 50w it will reach it faster, at 200w it's going to be almost instant. Like the others said, 20-30w (I use 30w on everything now) is a nice "ramp up" wattage. This doesn't heat the coil too fast and allows you some vape time before hitting protection. A lot of people see the mod hit "temp protection" and think it's an error. In fact this is the mod doing its job, the coil has reached the set temperature and is now cutting power until it cools, then heats it up again.
It's actually kind of funny, way back when people would complain about the "rattle snake" noise some of the cheaper mods would make because of the cycling of the PWM in their circuits. Now days we expect it with TC!
But to make this as simple as possible, set your wattage at 30, set your temp at 400deg F and try it, you want it warmer, turn it up, cooler, turn it down. If it heats up too fast turn the wattage down, not fast enough, turn the wattage up.
I'm sorry it's not as easy as take the resistance and add 2 to get the voltage for 11watts, like we did back in the day.
I hope this helps some, but it's not as scary as it seems.
Wow! Very simple. I don't have any particular intention of trying TC. But, now I know that I have a good basic idea if I ever decide to. Very simply written.
What's a Triffid?

How can I tell if I have the wrong coils? They look just like the 1.2 coils I've used in the GS Air tanks? Thank you.

If the band on the bottom is blue, you have the Ni coils. You can ONLY use those on a temp control device. If you do not have one, PLEASE do not use the tank until you get GS air coils that are not temp control.

Love my 22 mm Serpent Mini. Ran around 80 ml through it with a single 26 awg ss316l build on my Pico (nice match, there) before I set it aside to try out the Innokin Axiom (which is also nice, but no Serpent Mini). I even like the rolled over drip tip.

Hey, I just noticed something on my full size Serpent yesterday and was wondering. I built a new coil and while still on the ohm meter I twisted the JFC and the resistance would change, twist it back and its where I built it.. Same simple build as always and can not find a spot of the coil or leg touching the wall... Idk if it has always done that or not lol ?

I need to pull it out again, haven't used it since I moved so maybe I forgot something about it... Always gave a good vape for me..

yepper, all the coils look the same, what do you read on the side of said coils ??

the iStick 30 will only read/fire down to .5Ω ~ and NO TEMP CONTROL coils

try another coil that reads above .5Ω on the side of the coil

;) :)

WOW - Just
wow-smiley.gif
! ! !

I never thought that what I believed to be a simple question/post to "Tootle Puffers" who have more experience would cause such a flurry of great responses which were all quite helpful in understanding what I NEEDED to know . . .

SO - Once Again,
bouncing-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif
to one and all . . .

AND - On That Note - Just a couple of response from "Me" to a few post since the last time I was here . . .

First - @sawlight . . . Fully understand the NEED for a "recovery break", especially since I am still on that break/road myself . . . So - I really hope everything is alright or at least getting better for Ya' very soon . . .
crossed_fingers.gif

Now . . .
Anyway, @Uncle as the others said, you are way over complicating TC! It took me a little while to sort it out in my head as well. At first I thought you just left watts maxed and set your temp, unless you like a really hot vape, don't do that!

Yea Yea Yea - I probably am complicating things more then they NEED to be. . .
dramasmileyf.gif

However, in "My" defence at this stage of the game and as confusing as it can get for "Me", especially with all the new technology out there I know nothing about, I just want to make sure I do not wind up like some other people who exceeded their knowledge & proper use of the product/s available . . .
blowup.gif

BTW: I hear Ya' Loud and clear . . . NOPE - No MAX Watts/Temp for "Me" . . . Nor is there any NEED for a HOT VAPE either . . .
noooway.gif
. . . I already cough enough & even choke sometimes, on too much vapor production (and one of the major reason's I do not sub-oHm also ;) ) . . .
AnimatedRollingEyesSmiley.gif

Really well & simply written and I do appreciate the K.I.S.S. . . . So - BACK AT YA' "My" Friend . . .

It's actually kind of funny, way back when people would complain about the "rattle snake" noise some of the cheaper mods would make because of the cycling of the PWM in their circuits. Now days we expect it with TC!

Honestly - If I heard any "rattlesnake" noise with any piece of electronic equipment - I would be . . .
runforthehills.gif

I now not only have a better idea about what to do - I have a great basic benchmark to work from . . .

I'm sorry it's not as easy as take the resistance and add 2 to get the voltage for 11watts, like we did back in the day.

Never understood or did that for Volt - to - Watts . . . AND - As for what "We" did back in the day, I don't think "We" should go there . . .

I hope this helps some, but it's not as scary as it seems.

Not "Scared" - just trying to be careful and make sure I understand what NEEDS to be done to avoid as many problems as possible . . . More importantly, I know this information from "You" and everyone else, will be very helpful to "Me" and hopefully some others that come across it too . . . Once again -
cute-thank-you-smiley-emoticon.gif

You'll either love it or hate it. I can honestly go either way. I see its merits and it's limitations.

I see lotza chatter on TC (TG, right?). Uncs dahling....... I tried it one time. Huge fail. Having said that, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.

I doubt you need scholarly diplomas prior to trying it out! Just Nike, baybee.

Yep - Easy for "You" to say, Ya' Got "DP" to get "You" out of trouble . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

I cleaned up a lot of my gear last week and on the weekend, sold off the surplus and decided that that was me and I was going to commit to what I had.........no more.

Yea - I said the same thing a few months ago and gave away/PIF almost 1K of Vape supplies I was hoarding and never even used for the past few years (thought it would come in handy some day - but na didn't happen) . . .

AND - Like "You", I finally decided to try to use some of the other "Stuff" I have besides VV/VW - like the TC Mods, but wanted to learn more to see if that equipment will assist "Me" in my endeavors . . . We'll see, especially now that "@Katdarling" (and everyone else for that matter) has encouraged "Me" to jump off the DEEP END . . . TC - Here I Come . . .

bungee-jumping-smiley-emoticon.gif

OH YEA - I forgot to mention that taking over 2 & 1/2 - 3 hours to type up a post is pure :censored: . . . NOT NICE . . . Just Sayin' . . .
