Thanks for your response! I saw this review! It's a good one. I always do the counter clockwise rotation until I hear the thump as Phil suggested. I think I must have gotten an atypical Vika clone in this regard. My husband suggested I lubricate the o-ring a few days ago and that may have helped. We haven't had to use plyers on it again, but I have had to get him to open it for me twice since then. I'm hoping it will continue to get better.

Your post has been very helpful in letting me know they aren't all like this, so I am not gun-shy about getting another one. Today, however, I saw a post in the Vika thread that there is a new authentic Vika, called the Vika Lite with a bell cap on it. It looks great and it costs only $30, which is much less than the others that go for $60 and $70. At that price, I'll probably go for the authentic Vika Lite and will plan to pick up another FT Vika clone as well. Hope they don't kill me on shipping.

I ordered regular Cleito glass as replacements for my Vika(S). They're half a mm taller.

I'd say the o-ring is plenty lubed by the juice. On mine it's not a tight seal. I actually blew juice past it once trying to clear a fuzz ball that got into the air hole from my pocket. If you get a chance when it's empty, clean it out and with the glass off, try screwing a coil into the chimney to see if the threads are binding. You might just have a defective one. Other than that, after you fill it and screw it back together, just very lightly snug it tight. The o-rings seal the tank so as long as it doesn't unscrew a few turns, nothing should leak... not saying to leave it loose, just snugged and check it every so often that it's not loosening up.

I saw the Vika Lite... I'm not a fan of rounded end anything when it comes to tanks. I have another clone on it's way here.

Thank you. I don't think the problem is the chimney, but I'll do the check you suggested, just to make sure. I want to make this tank work properly! The flavor is sooooo good!

According to these fine peeps, I need to get ultra comfy with my current methods first! And that's exactly what I'm doing! Feels good to slow down and smell the roses or however that saying goes[emoji4]

That is sooo true! I just got the Pico-s tank (not to be confused with the Pico mod)and it is a very nice vape, but, I like the Kayfun mini v3 better.

Good afternoon!

We've had a foot and change of snow, weather warning extended a few more hours, travel advisory.

Snow blowing was easy, but I'm doing work from home today rather than mess about with traffic. The newer snow is fluffy lake effect, which plays hob with visibility when the wind kicks up.

Mechs are really pretty simple if you aren't aiming for high power. Make sure screws are tight to hold any coils. Check the resistance of the fully assembled tank/RDA (either a standalone meter or a regulated mod can be used for this). Put the battery in the right way (most are battery "up", but my microstick, for instance, is battery "down" due to how the tank mounts). Only use a battery with a good wrapper (should be normal practice for any mod). Change the battery when you notice warmth/vapor production drops.

I use around 0.4 - 0.6 ohms most of the time, a trivial load for a modern 18650 (with a good battery you can safely go a lot lower) . For the microstick, 18350, I limit myself to 0.75 ohms minimum, again plenty of margin with a decent battery.

Sure did! I ordered a five pack of CLRS along with the tank. I also have a couple of the Pico clones with the CLR coil adapter. The Pico-s is much easier to fill and has a tighter draw but I am setting it to 1/2 a hole for my MYL preference. I think that may result in a little less flavor and slightly warmer vape. By comparison, the Origen Tiny has somewhat better flavor (imo) because it was designed specifically for a tight draw that you can open up to a restricted DL.

Only a very few use the CLR, but the Pico-S @brewbear just got is one of them. I've been waiting on someone to get one and give me the go ahead to order one from FT. Sounds like brewbear is twisting my arm to do it.
