Why is it that sometimes my devices will ask me if there's a new coil and other times not? Example: today I switched out my PT for an Amor and I wasn't asked if it was new. Just curious. And hope you all had a nice weekend!

Depends. Typically it will be because the new resistance is significantly different than the last. Sometimes it's a just because thing. On my Alien, if I remove the tank, hit the fire button, then remount the tank it will prompt me as well. It really only matters in TC to be sure the mod recognizes the cold resistance properly so your vape will be what you expect.

Good to know, thanks Eskie!

I bought a pocket rocket... very billet box type device. It has WAY too much airflow for me and I'm trying to think of ways to close off most of the air. I tried duct tape (it fixes everything right!) but the space is too tight where the atomizer tank fits into. Wasn't enough room, its super tight fit. I can get to all holes from the inside but how to fill/close them off without taking up room?

So, any ideas are welcome or if someone has done something similar already:

Just put a small piece of cellotape over some of the holes from the inside. It works on billet boxes

You can also get in the habit of covering some of the holes with your finger when vaping.

I have both the V1 and V2 of the VVTF. The V1 is slightly easier, as Shawn said, but it is a matter of degrees. Both are an exercise in patience and the V2 would make a priest jump and kick a stained glass window in frustration. The V1 would fit perfectly in the Kabuki and/or Vika with a slightly longer glass, the reason I was using the Zephyrus (I think) glass on the Kabuki.
Zephyrus glass appears to be 2mm taller than Clieto/Vika glass... 29mm vs. 27mm

The vaporesso target tank replacement glass fits the vika fantasy tank
Good to know.

I bought a couple of Cleito replacements on the premise that the 5ml Cleito "pregnant goldfish" tank fits... they do fit.

I had a mass of pics here somewhere.
Remove pin, insulator and old coil/wick The casing comes off leaving a little core. I use a little punch to push out the core rather than pliers to pull of the outer casing. (i tried pliers and I crushed the threading.) once you have the casing off the first time its easier.

I us fasttech prewound/wicked coils with Nr-R-Nr The NR legs stop the insulators melting. I remove the silica wick and rewick with rayon. I then wrap mesh around the core instead of cotton (don't like cotton)

Pop the outer casing back on press to secure and install in tank to vape.

Excuse the meat mallet but its my main inside mallet. There are a lot of ways to remove and replace the cover. I do it this way beause it had the least chance of damaging the components

I just disassembled a few of these. OMG, how easy! Lightly tap the punch and they come right apart. Thanks again!

That's the BB4 clone?

It looks like the same design as the authentic, and the "AFC" is "adjustable" with your fingers. I use it all the time, but mainly for sound control.

It's basically a built-in silencer, available on demand with no adjustments required.

I know. Once you have a punch thingy that works...... its a piece of cake.
See what I mean about the little surround

That one (asmart pocket rocket) was out before the release of the Rev4.

You mean that outer wrap of material between the inner core part and the outer wall of the body? Yep.

You need something to go there or the case just falls off the core.
This was in response to someones question about wicking straight through the holes.

That would have been me who asked about wicking through the holes.

I don't see how that wrap between the core and the body helps to hold anything together... seems like the press-fit of the core to the body at the bottom is what holds everything together. I do see having something there being necessary to stop the coil from flooding and juice leaking out all over you.

Exactly! That is why you can use the VVTF rba v1 with the Kabuki/Vika without the space between the glass and the base. The v1 rba adds roughly 2 mm to the overall length of the chimney/coil assembly making the stock glass too short.

My Pico in SS temp mode is doing that without changing the atomizer. I have used two different Picos both do it. Probably 4-5 times a day. Rather annoying when I pick up my mod, take a vape and draw air. Then notice I need to click the up/down button. Otherwise enjoying tc in low wattage.
