Yes. Dry burn, lightly brush. Dry burn, lightly brush.

I use a small brass brush that I bought at Harbor Freight. I think I had to buy the assortment of several just to get the brass one that I needed. The others will come in handy *some day* (if I remember where I put them). ;)

Isn't it amazing how easy it is to lose vaping stuff? I'm constantly losing the top or bottom to a tank. Not to mention those tiny screws!

So have any of you used metal brushes to clean your coils?

I just use an old toothbrush. Soft brass might be ok, but in either case, gently!, or you'll be rewinding ;)

+1 on that sinus rinse. I used to have chronic ear and sinus infections. It really helps!

I need to start doing the sinus rinse. I used to use a neti pot everyday and it was great, but I fell out of the habit. Now my biggest side effect from vaping is that my sinuses and nose are super dried out. I think a daily rinse or two and maybe some sort of spray would set me straight.

+1 for the old toothbrush for coil cleaning. They sure come in handy!

They are good, but you can't do the inside with a toothbrush. The small flossing brushes are good for the inside, but the tiny nylon bristles can get caught between the wraps and stick there. That's where I reckon a metal version would be useful.

I trimmed down the fuss. Took this clipping Zorba Paster: A Natural Remedy For Treating Nasal Congestion? Sinus Up! to my ENT doctor, and she said that the use of distilled water was instituted when someone on well water got a NASTY infection from the water. If you have good quality city water it is OK. I have two different nasal sprays to use after the wash.

I use a spreadsheet for date of last coil. Two months-ish. But, I still scrub a bit and fire the coil to get ride of gunk when I re-wick. You can see that the 5" handle was sawed off the right side.

I use a brush after cleaning the whole topper. Actually, each time I change the wick , too.

I can't believe I didn't think of the pipe cleaners with metal in them. Hub already has some. Will try it out now along with a toothbrush

I used pipe cleaners for a long time. But I noticed that they had a tendency to shed small bits of cotton or whatever they are made of. I would see shreds of cotton stuck between the wraps on a coil, or even on the inside of a drip tip. Noticed one of your pics said bristle on the wrapping, maybe that kind is more stable.

With metal? Is that strands of metal mixed in with the cotton or whatever?

Yeah, I think it's this kind with the metal

Get the Neilmed Sinus Rinse. It's an amazing product, and very inexpensive. Be sure to only use purified,DI or previously boiled water.

I used to get 1-3 MAJOR sinus infections per year until I started using it (on a daily basis). In 3 years I've only had one and that was due to my own stupidity. Played in the attic (re-wiring stuff) and didn't wear a dust mask. Promptly started using it 2-4 times per day which greatly reduced the pressure and shortened the recovery time.

The instructions list several ways of cleaning it but I simply rinse with tap water followed by a small amount of hydrogen peroxide.

Thanks!
