Might you link it please? (the lazy hazy tank?)

THE Egg Rolls

(sigh...... the joyetech.Ego_One.Mega.V2.tank) (you have to know I can't even type that with a straight face!)

Wow I never saw the v2 I don't think. I have the one with the metal "stripes" over the windows. Came with the evic mini in matchy matchy white. And the tron t which I think is the same design with different window placement.

You made me go get out a tron t tank and a brand new clr coil (don't have many of those left) to compare with the vapefly head to head.

I made you? WOW!!!!!! I am POWERFUL!!!!!!

And so? How is your comparison test?

I believe those are the older version of the Ego One tanks...... V1 perhaps. I don't care for teensy windows, so I've not owned those.

I think I have to be fair and put a brand new coil in the vapefly for a real head to head as this coil has had four different juices through it. First blush the clr coil seems more flavorful with this one bright juice.

And yes you forced me; not fair!

Hey Chels, this is America. It wasn't your fault. You need to sue that woman who forced you to hurry. And the PO. If they had more people on the counter you could have taken your time. I'm sure there's a lawyer out there who would take it on.

Boy Howdy, isn't that ^^^ the truth in this "New America" (as I call it). You hit the nail on the head mick. :thumb:

I really don't understand this "polluted" taste you are talking about? I understand some flavored juice work better in some tanks than others but "polluted" is a strong word to use to describe a flavor prebuilt coil.. if that were the case I don't think the they would be that popular for years in the Nautilus line, and other designers would not have built tanks and bridges just for a coil they did not create ex...the Billet Box (bridge) and the Kabuki...

I'll have to get in here and agree with hOOl on this one. I have a Natalus mini and have experienced the same flavour perversion with Brand New Coils myself. I was using my Arabic HS 50/50 mix in it and the flavour was really different than it has always been in all my other RTA's/RDA's, so much so that I didn't vape it anymore and just dumped the tank full into my Lemo to see if I screwed up my mix somehow. I didn't, the flavor was back to normal, so I figured that somehow during production of my batch of coils that there was a contaminate introduced into the cotton before/during assembly. But after reading hOOligan's post I'm thinking that there's more to it than I thought, and I didn't just get a one off bad pack of coils.

I agree with everything g you've said. The one issue I have is aspire coils have a false flavor to them. I think it's due to the wick they use. Doesn't matter if it's the nautilus or cleito or Atlantis ego coils. They all have this same polluted taste to me. That's why I was so excited that the nicolas tank uses the same technology (Bvc coil) but doesn't have this flavor pollution that I can see.

For what it's worth the new generation of Bvc coils from aspire seem to be better about this. They did revamp the 1.8 when they made he .7. They're aren't the same coils as they used to be. Imo they're improved.

The n2 is just a matter of taste (pun intended) . Given that kite removing what is an entire top tank they should have just made it bottom fill so we could get more than 1.8 ml in there without flooding. That's my main disappointment with the n2. The filling is just fiddly.

Once the tank is filled or the coil is in I junk it vapes just great. Don't think I don't like the new coils or the tank.

Thank you for your feedback and input. I appreciate it. Just wanted to clear up my thoughts since it probably seemed I was being hard on the n2 and new coils. They're still at the top of the mtl heap for flavor.

I also agree my builds are usually better. I just need a break and to thin out my collection.
i used to be quite pleases with the aspire bvc coils but recently they changed the label on the packages,(before it was a plain aspire logo and now there are some 'Tips')and it seems that something changed;at first there is a bad and bitter taste and the braking time is much longer and even then, i feel it's not like it used to be.
maybe they changed the wicking material.
for the nautilus2 1.8 coil,i see divided reviews;some say it's exactly the same and others that it has bigger holes.

Just tried out my Kayfun filling tool for the first time to rewick a couple of KFL's. On the first one the tool wouldn't go in. After a while I gave up and emptied a tankful of juice in the trash bin. On the second one I decided to push really hard to see what happened and the tool went in. But then I couldn't figure out how to get the base back on and the tool out without all the juice spilling on my desk and one leg.

On top of that when I got the mess cleaned up and went to reassemble the tank I noticed what looked like a black hair stuck in the hole in the top of the tank. Turned out the tool had shaved off several small pieces of rubber from the captive o-ring.

Guess I need to watch the videos and try to figure out where I went wrong. Or maybe the tool doesn't work in that particular KFL clone.
i also have a kayfil tool(non authentic)and it doesn't go all the way through(i think it can't with the kfl+V2 because it has a different top cap than the v1)or it'll push the o-ring or damage it.
i just put the kayfun(without the DT) on it until it stops, unscrew the base from the tank and gently balance the tank on the kayfill so the juice doesn't spill(and some times it does a bit).
and when done, i just put the base back so the upper chimney part goes through the kayfill and gently screw it back to the tank.

I was having trouble with my provari firing all of a sudden. It worked fine and then it didn't with the tank I've been using for several months. At first I thought the tank pin wasn't making a good connection with the P. So these are the things I did trying to solve the problem.

I changed to a fresh coil. Nothing. Then I switched tanks with one I use on my istick which works fine on that device. That worked on the provari. (Both tanks are same make/model). So it's not a provari firing issue.

Took out the coil from the istick tank and put it in the first one, the one that's been on the P. Not working on the P. Changed to a third coil (new) in original P tank. Not working on the P. So I'm assuming it's something in the tank's base. Switched bases (using brand new base) with the same (third) coil. Success…so far.

Checked how far out the 510 pin sticks below the tank base on the original P tank vs the istick tank vs the third one. All stick out the same.

Any ideas as to what can go wrong with a base? All tanks are GS Airs. And that original base looks fine.

O.K. TOOTLE PUFFERS PSA, MFS has had another cyber breach! I was hit about a month ago, new card issued. Assumed this was solved, made another purchase last week! Now waiting for CC company to issue another card.

That's Horrible!

I've had some rare base failures, Bea. None with the GS, but I did have a Nauti or two that went, and one Cerotank. After wrestling a bit, I decided that these things weren't going to be perfect, and chucked them.

This is where backups pay dividends. Sorry for your loss. :-(

When was the last time you thoroughly cleaned the 510 connection points including all threading?
Really scrub the threads in the 510 clean & shiny, get all the thread gunk.
Provari routine maintenance certainly helps, be sure to keep the base cap & tube threads clean & shiny too,

I'm far from a cottone aficionado, but I do know that the Aspire coils have been very good for my vape (style).

Thanks, H00l.

Mine too. I just think we may finally have a tank that dethrones the king :)

Thank you too!

The other posts where too big to quote. I have vaped aspire coils since the day they came out and loved them. There are the backbone of my vaping. A couple of years ago they changed the wicking to cotton and they lost me forever. I bought every old coil i could find and the future was looking grim. Then i learned how to rewick them with rayon (both the littlies and the nautilus coils) and i have never looked back. Each coil lasts weeks and my flavours are always clean.

To me.........Cotton in all shapes and brands tastes like old wet washing smells. Rayon rules

Forgot to mention that I do provari and current tank clean up with alcohol every Sunday although I rarely see any gunk but I do it anyway.

@DPLongo22 I guess this base is dead but I have 20 other tanks in my stash :)

we just started a 10 gallon tank, not sure what exactly were gonna end up with, but we only have 3 fish (2 zebra tetras and dalmation molly) and now two snails. lol

it's a snail. lol.

the tank is only a couple weeks old. we checked the water every couple days and now once a week. our local pet store does free water testing, and with the zoo at our house we're there 2-3 times a week anyways.

the "cleaning" part was more referencing my over eager 4 year old who likes to feed the fish when we aren't looking. lol. tank is way too small for any of the cool bottom feeders. lol.

used to have a 500 gallon tank growing up, had a blast with it. i'd set it up, cycle it, get bored, set my friends up with tanks, give them my fish and start all over.
so it is I feel dumb haha :)

I hear taste is subjective. Is this true?

I agree he n2 has better airflow for ease of changing but the kabuki is a much better tank for usage. The n2 really only holds 1.8ml and filling it or changing the coil is a giant pain imo. You should try this vapefly nicolas I've been talking about. It's under $10 and a five pack of coils is under 4.

By. ThE way all

Wholesale.3avape.com is selling out of these so if you wanted to get one cheap time is running out. The .6 coils at 14w and the 1.8 coils at 14 watts are pretty similar. The 1.8 has a smaller inner bore but not substantially and the .6 has better flavor. Either coil will work. Don't be put off by the fact the coil is rated at .6. I agree usually sub ohm tanks don't work closed down but this is a mtl tank and the .6 coil is very misleading. It works very well for mtl. Just keep it under 18 watts and the flavor is great.

6ce56094bff57ac38905e7af30f56fdf.jpg

Thanks I'll probably end up trying one. Did you prefer them to the n2?

Tcr for 316L is .00089 for 304 it's .00092

If you like stainless and you're was tiny very accurate temp control try nife48/52 which has a tcr of .00405. Much higher so more accurate. Imo the best wire for tc

I build a lot but I'm getting tired of the bits polluting my house. It's not just the building part that's frustrating. It's the fact in this small condo I don't have place for a bench or similar. Once you build and start making your own juice the space becomes an issue. I've already dedicated half my kitchen and it's not enough. :/.

Best in mind there are coils under an ohm now which are meant for mtl and work well. They don't need to be vaped direct lung and they bring a lot of flavor to the party even at low power. While I tend to agree by and large sub homing is not for mtl people there are now good exceptions. Depends how much density you like rather than volume. The lower resistance on mtl can offer more density. If paired with the right airflow.

I like building because I can get what I want. What I'd been doing was building to around .8 for my mtl rigs with clapton wire. Special clapton not the regular awful for mtl stuff Clapton made for mtl vaping. But now that I can get coils build how I build for under a dollar a piece I don't know if I'll continue building. At least take a break for a while. Except they don't make these coils out of stainless steel! So building is kind of necessary for me personally.
they are a pain your right, but no nothing beats nautilus for stock coils. It is a reasonable vape but the kabuki an Nautilus 2 are my favourites.
& I will pick up one of them :)
I haven't done any building yet but gonna get a couple rtas soon

First - Congratulations on not smoking a cigarette (or any tobacco product) today . . .

AND - I agree, most of the conversations about the different RTA/RBA & other tanks and rebuilding coils can be overwhelming to read all the time. However, there are a few that I follow just in case there is something interesting or I can learn something new from them, especially if there is a product or something I NEED to avoid . . . BTW: Although I am not interested in rebuilding coils - I can tell someone how to do it if necessary . . . As for the any sub-oHm vaping - NOPE - NOT GONNA HAPPEN EVER AGAIN . . . I lose "My" breath and coughed enough already . . . Worse is walking into a vape meeting or BM filled with a haze of vapor from cloud chuckers (which - IMHO - is even worse then walking into a room filled with a blue haze of cigarette smoke) . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)
I know how to build, I just don't cos happy with my Nautilus 2 and t22 :)

Nothing but builds, here... all my tanks that use drop in coils are equipped with RBAs, or they've been given away...
