They may just have different low resistance settings. Dig out your magnifying glass and check the itty bitty booklety.

Check the 510 connection on the mod and the tank. A tiny bit of condensed juice could cause that.

I didn't check the manual because it had been working fine with that tank beforehand

That worked, yay! Now, if I could figure out how to get this broken drip tip out (I just dropped it on the carpet and it still broke!)

Try gently puttin a screw in the drip tip hole and pulling it up.

Good idea! I tried a toothpick and of course it broke

Remove top cap, turn upside down on hard surface, use a punch of some sort to push the broken piece outward.
May have to tap on the thingamajig you use as a punch with hard object / hammer.
