I realize it is early times for you, but eventually you'll dip your toe in the coil making side of the pool! The advantage of an rta is that you make the coil to suit your vaping taste. You make the choice in wires and how low a resistance to built. I get the feeling you'll be there in a few months' time.

I have a question about the eleaf Mini 10W mods. It says that they can go to 10 Watts, and they can go to 5 Volts, and they have a 510 connection. If I slap a NaughtyX on there with a 1.8 Ohm atomizer and set it to 5 Volts will it let me fire the thing at 13.89 Watts or will the Wattage max of the device not allow that? Will it only allow me to set a 1.8 Ohm atomizer to 4.24 Volts in order to keep from bypassing the Wattage limit or does that limit only apply to what you are allowed to set it to?
I believe the set max. wattage will come into play.

If I'm understanding your question correctly...The CoV Mini Volt 40W mod doesn't have the TC feature. You can only adjust the wattage and the Ramp Mode on it.
I believe there was a mix-up in names: Minivolt = 40w, no TC and Megavolt = 80w, has TC. Both from the same company.

That's what I was thinking would be more realistic. Still, I've definitely found out that 10 Watts is nothing to poo poo at. How soon we long timers forget the days of vaping below that. I was surprised somewhat recently when someone asked me how my MTL tank did down below 10 or so and I had to admit that I'd never tried it. Never even thought of it. I got it down to 8 with a serviceable vape. I was very surprised. I had to remind myself that I had used a Vision Spinner at around 4.2 Volts on a 2.0 Ohm clearomizer.

@listopencil - To answer your question...IMO it will not allow that, but I've never tried it. I use various tanks and coils on my Mini 10W mods, and the coils are always 1.5ohm, 1.6ohm, or 1.8ohm. With any of them...I don't ever vape above 4.2v. Sorry that's no help for you! ;)

I prefer the istick Pico.

External 18650 battery and can fire 1-75 Watts.
Opinions Please !!!...I have also been looking at Box type devices with the one main prerequisite being a Fixed Battery...The T18 I got is fine but it would have been better with at least VV...I think the T22 is a bargain but again no VV...Here are 2 batteries and 1 Kit I've been looking at...I skipped the links...common stuff...

eLeaf iStick mini 1050 mAh VV...Sneaky Little Booger...Would be quite tiny with my T18 Tank...
eLeaf iStick 40 2600mAh TC / VW...I'm assuming that would be just fine with a Nautilus 2 or my Prizm ?

Aspire Zelos 50 w/Nautilus 2...The battery looks like an eLeaf(?)...TC / VW / VV...Anybody have this one ?

Also...For a fairly light hitter like me...What would be a good guess for the life expectancy of those batteries ?

Thanks Much For Any Insights / Opinions You Might Have...Trig :D

    Never say never, friend!

lol ... yeah I tend to blast away at higher wattage from time to time (don't tell anyone though)... although, I have "mended" my ways in the last year or so as I am currently vaping at 14 watts, which is excellent for a once die hard cloud blower :)

OMG! From all your posts, I thought you only had a few old school and a few home made. I guess impressions are deceiving. You've got quite a stash!

Yabt .... what I didn't say was that they're all 4-5-6 years old

All I use anymore are Provaris with carto tanks, & mechanicals with A7s.
In about 50 years or so I'll be forced to use those others. ;)

Just get a dang Megavolt! It's a kit and you may not use the tank, but at $24.99.....The Mega Volt by Council of Vapor | 80W Mini Box Mod + Enigma Tank (BUNDLE)
I love the little Megavolt. Perfect fit for my small hands as a stealthy vape with a 22mm shorty tank. And it charges super fast and lasts a long time when I run it at 10-11w.

My wife discovered a drink that's mega bucks in a bar but cheap at home and OMG a great drink that refreshing and low fat compared to beer. We can pound a 40 of rum in less than a week
    The Mojito:
--Make a simple syrup of equal parts sugar and water(1cup water/1 cup sugar) just to a boil then cool and put into a bottle to dispense.
--Lime..peel the skin off cause the skin makes the drink bitter, cut 1/3-1/2 lime or too taste into thin slices...add to glass. Lime juice isn't as good as lime
--Mint Leaves...fresh mint in the store, break the leaves into glass, again amount to taste.
--Pound the lime and mint down with a muddler (I use a piece of wood dowel) to break it all up into mushy, don't look down or you'll get lime in the eyes
--equal amounts of simple syrup and booze(rum or vodka). Syrup too is to taste, I tried less than equal amounts and IMO not as good
-- stir the base of booze and ingredients
--add can of club soda then ice but don't mix too much after you add ice it will froth the soda over the cup
--stir lightly to mix, then add ice, push down the leaves under the ice.
Drink, enjoy then get ready to make another
    Mmmmmm... mojitos...

Thanks JC...I'll do a little more sniff'in around Council Of Vapors...But I think I'm still fuzzy on the settings...Say I'm using my T18 tank w/1.5ohm coil...Would the Mini Volt be set purely on temperature ?...And when everything comes full circle I'll probably end up with more than one of the several that have been mentioned...Still kind'a think that Aspire Zelos W/N2 Tank might be a good place to start...And FT has them stupid cheap !!!
Nope, runs in wattage mode just great. With a 1.5ohm coil I'd start around 8w and inch up until you hit your sweet spot.

    I prefer the istick Pico.

External 18650 battery and can fire 1-75 Watts.
I know you asked for an fixed battery device but the Pico is a good suggestion too. I know several people who put an 18650 in it and then treat it as a fixed battery only charging via USB. At around $20 if you end up killing the charging port it isn't a huge loss plus you do have the option of getting an external charger and going that route. Running at low wattage it lasts ages between charges.

lol ... yeah I tend to blast away at higher wattage from time to time (don't tell anyone though)... although, I have "mended" my ways in the last year or so as I am currently vaping at 14 watts, which is excellent for a once die hard cloud blower :)
I was considering breaking out one of my cloudier tanks just a little while ago. We'll see though, feeling a little too lazy to build right now.

yeah I get the "itch" from time to time :) ......... But, I have been doing really good at TP by running a mere 14 watts............ If you would have told me a year ago that I would only be vaping at 14 watts I would have thought "no way"...... But the way I vape now is so close to smoking (the sensation and vapor production) that it is really awesome.

I started out in cloudz bro land, because that's what the b&m sold me. My first RTA was a duel coil set up and I managed to somehow figure it out. When I started researching other vaping methods for my husband, he can't handle larger vapor volume or higher wattage, I found that it suited me better than the juice guzzling cloudy method. Coming from duel coil RTAs made single coil building an absolute breeze.

I only have 3 mods capable of 75w. I doubt I have a tank that would work at that wattage.

I will just go back to sleep now and vape at 6w.

6 Watts?! Man, that wouldn't even be enough for my high powered tank to make any vapor........ In other words, 6 watts would not even produce any vapor from my tank ............. Of course, I need to get a TP tank but I just never have (yet) lol ....... I am still using a cloud blowing tank it's just that I have the airflow almost completely shut off so that I can tootle puff .... Hey, don't knock it, because it works :w00t:

You sound very similar to myself........... Hey, this forum can't have two weirdos! .... yeah I know what you mean about single coil building being a breeze compared to where you came from ...... I was involved in Electronics for most of my life, as a career, and so building coils and anything electronic never phases me in the least.... Well, that's not exactly true because working with Nickle coils can be a real b*tch lol .... But the Mathematics and the theory are nothing to me as I have done that stuff for years.
