I came to America from England almost 30 years ago. Americans know I'm English as soon as I open my mouth. When I go to England people I meet think I'm American. You never really lose an accent. Unless you're really young when you move I guess.
I get the same @englishmick .I came to the USA 16 years ago from England. Everybody comments straight away on my English accent. When i call or visit England i get called American.Weird.
Hmmm...english"mick"...Dub"miner"...There ya' go...Englishmen play'in with their names...It all now seems apparent...Tre, Pol or Pen, they all must be Cornish Men...Trig :D

I always liked the name of the town where Richard Trevithick was born: Tregajorran...
Easy...Starts with "Tre" and ends with a mouthful of vowels & consonants...

Yuk!!! I had my first ever dry-hit yesterday :(. I was outside working in my greenhouse and had my outside-yard-work mod with me and couldn't figure out why it tasted so awful…until I looked at the tank…EMPTY .
A few months ago I took delivery of an Evic VTC Mini. Immediately unboxed it and put it together with its eGo One Mega tank. Got distracted doing something, then after a while I figured it was ready to hit. No juice. None. Just pure, ole dry cotton. That's also when I discovered the VTC Mini comes pre-set at 60w instead of my normal 8 to 10w. I truly thought I had done some damage. I've never had a dry hit other than that, but I figure that one will last me a lifetime.

Oh, and hi, Bea. :D

The only bad hit I've had this time around was when thinking I could decrease my wattage from 7 to 6.5, on my Steampunk, only it only goes to 7 as the lowest setting (weird, but there you go) and it spun around to 120 watts, and unknowingly I took a long, slow, "priming hit" and it was the foulest thing I'd ever experienced.... Heh. I don't understand how folks with SS tanks can figure out when to refill them, though I usually never let my tank empty completely.... I guess the vape changes slightly before the dry hit or something? I still like having a juice level, though the pure SS look is so nice...

I was 13 when I came to the US and my Australian accent just faded away completely.... My brain's weird like that, I am able to speak French fairly well from having lived there.... But only when I return for a visit, until then it's really broken and difficult, but if I get re-immersed in the environment all sorts of words just pop into my brain from out of nowhere, and I'm rather fluent again... Until 3 weeks after I leave, LOL. My mom still has sort of an Australian accent, but not exactly and a lot of people guess she's from S. Africa, a Kiwi, or English. It's kind of this weird blend of Aus/American but she definitely sounds from Elsewhere. I remember when Madonna was running around with an English accent and everyone thought she was pretentious, which she is, certainly, but perhaps for other reasons.... It seemed her American accent returned during the big "Woman hat" speech though, some people are just chameleons I guess....

I can't believe I've read through these pages and not bought anything. Oh, I perused FT a few times but refrained. Hussar build went GREAT, so much easier than the first one... :) I really like the tank.

Actually, truth is probably around a quarter of the people I've met over here ask me if I'm Australian. I blame Mick Dundee for that. He's the only Aussie most Americans have heard speak.

I've never experienced a dry hit but I did have an accidental dry burn, with rayon in place.

When I drive in the mountains I place my mods, upside down, in the pull out cup holders to help prevent leakage due to pressure changes. When a nasty smell hit my nostrils, my first thought was it must be something electrical. As I reached down to check the 12v accessory plug I noticed vapor coming out of my mod. It seems that in a certain position in that cup holder, the fire button is depressed. Oops. Had I been thinking, I would have wrapped the tank in plastic and dealt with it later. But no, I had to pull over and open the tank releasing the full strength of the stench. It took 2 days for the smell to finally dissipate.

I have a very strong southern accent. When I find myself talking on the phone with a company from out of state, I'm often asked to repeat myself.

Bummer, Steely Dan was like the only music in my parents stash that I actually enjoyed. RIP :(

My mom went heavy on the WHAM! for awhile, and that was quite painful. Though I will admit that this video was the favorite of both mine, and my brother's. It's fantastic.

The only "good" GM I will ever hear, LOL.

Not to digress too far...A while back...The Men In Blazers played a brief clip of a Scottish Gentlemen who although we indeed both speak the "Kings English"...I didn't understand a words he said...They ended the clip..."...and for those of you across the Pond and elsewhere who feel like they needed an interpreter...pay it no mind because we couldn't understand a bloody thing he said either"...And I'm part Scottish as well :D

Most important is I just pulled the trigger on a TopTank Mini and a pack of 1.5ohm coils...I couldn't bare the thought of waiting for the Fast Tech slow boat from Hong Kong...So I bought it State Side...Over-All I paid about $8 extra...Not bad to have it in hand in 4-5 days...My other package is still lounging on the Beach in Tonga and hasn't moved in a week...Must be having a wonderful time...Trig

Vapers need to learn to observe their tank or find a way to live with temperature control
Actually since picos (which I have) and istick TC60 (which I also have) do temp control I want to set them up. Could someone please remind me what is the safe number?

Thanks for the recognition ma'am.
After doing BTech, MBA and scores of other post graduate diplomas - after being an Army Captain, a General Manager of a multi-national and now a licensed Crime & Forensic Investigator working with the Police - I can still be recognized with my original accent is some achievement indeed. At 55, I guess, I've now lost the opportunity to change, but my next generation would not. They've already picked-up the North American accent ;)

I'm from Greece. Been in USA for over 40 years. I don't have the typical strong Mediterranean accent but people up north always thought I was from the south! DH says it gets stronger when I'm tired.

Cornish names have nothing on Greek surnames. In addition to being long, the female versions have different endings from the males', kind of like the Slavic surnames.

Can you pronouce these names: Athanasiadou or Karakatsanis!

Where have you been? Good to see you!

    Hi Miss W.

Having left on Friday, we just got back from Georgia after having to attend a memorial. This has been a busy year, sending one child off to college and another moving back home. Oh, and we decided that we needed start watching Game of Thrones, starting with the first season this last month.

It's kind of you to ask and it's nice to see you, too :)

I can never bring myself to chuck a flavor, because it might be awesome in a month or 2. I have a peach flavor that tastes like Chanel for the first 30 days or so but is quite good afterwards.
Of course I'm also the world's worst documentarian. No spreadsheets here. Just little bottles of God knows what that's been around for "a while". Someday I'll fill a tank with something legendary and no clue how to replicate it.

I love a good peach flavor. When I diy my juice I mix 2% each of 3-5 different types of peach(depending what I have available when mixing) and it turns super delicious after 3 full weeks of steeping. Before that, tfa juicy peach is dominate.

    :)

So I assume you got pinched by the "styled" crap fastech has to offer. I stayed away from anything styled from there, the reviews pretty well stated the quality and reliability of the styled gear.
I've never seen subtank base pins for sale. I wouldn't know past soldering a glob onto the pin then some filing to make it pretty and the height you want. I've also never seen the subtank base positive insulator nor any of the RBA parts for sale either.
Yep, you guessed it. First few I received were fine, but lately the quality appears to have fallen quickly. Thanks for replying, I was thinking that was probably the case. I have been able to find some side screws at kangertech us, but they want way too much for them(even with a laborday discount of 20%).

    :)

I have had dry hits due to one alien mod. Every time I would remove the tank to fill and put it back on the watts had reset to the highest possible setting. After the 2nd time of that happening, it got retired. It now is sitting in my drawer altho if I really need it, it is usable.
    :)
