Canadian Thanksgiving

As I mentioned - That's happens in October a month before "We" eat Turkey/celebrated in the USA . . .

Thanksgiving (French: Action de grâce), or Thanksgiving Day (Jour de l'action de grâce) is an annual Canadian holiday, occurring on the second Monday in October, which celebrates the harvest and other blessings of the past year.

Note to self: Read carefully (maybe twice) then write.

I don't understand what you are all saying.

It's not christmas without turkey, stuffing and yorkshire pud.

Christmas pud and custard for dessert.

Oh - Well, sorry to disagree . . . However, I find that a very rare Standing Rib Roast or Roast Beef - which is always served with Yorkshire pudding in "My" kitchen - makes an excellent Holiday Meal (except I cannot have/eat it anymore :( ) . . .

I thought maybe you were having a winter solstice celebration. Spring is right around the corner!
And down the street.
Bear left at the fork.
And through a long dark tunnel.
Watch out for the icy patch.

I'm really excited because it looks like I may be helping someone kick the habit and switch to vaping.

We have a handyman doung some repairs on our house that we are too old to do ourselves :( and he smokes…about PAD. He noticed that I vape and asked how long. He told me he tried vaping about a year ago but gave up on it. Apparently he tried Logics…no wonder he didnt like it.

It really is amazing that so many of us who started with those gas station cartos stuck wirh vaping. Anyway I showed him the different types of tanks and mods I have and told him about the costs of vaping versus smoking. That hit home because he is not a rich man.

He said he thinks he needs to give it another try…yeay…but he roesnt think he can quit cigs cold turkey. I assured him that manu people dual use for a while and that's ok.

When he comes back after Christmas to finish the job I'll lend him a couple of mods to try. :)

Showing the newbie how to vape properly right from the get go will almost ensure them to continue to vape. I've had others have a hit of my vape and if they hit it like a smoking a ciggy then guaranteed to cough like hell then vaping is crap. A quick education on how to vape and I get OMG thats cool. That quick education also saves me a burnt coil when I'm at a party.

Something must be in the air lately. Either that, or more people are at least interested in trying vaping now.

Sorry this is so long, but like Bea is...I'm excited, too...again!

I've also got 2 more newbies I'm helping to hopefully switch to vaping. They're both neighbors in another town not far from me, where I've got an investment house. I was visiting with them while they were working on a couple cars in their driveway about 3 weeks ago. Both smoke and have for years, and I was vaping while watching them work and talking to one guy's granddaughter who also lives there. Robbie (grandpa) had no idea when he asked the simple question, "So...has that thing really worked for you?"...that to me...it was like a door opening and I had at least a foot through it already!

After my pretty lengthy response to that (ie. details about money saved by vaping, my improved health, how I'd gladly help them if they were interested, etc.),...both ended up saying they'd like to take me up on my offer and try it. So we talked about types of set-ups they might like to try, what flavors of eliquids, and what nic levels might be good to start with.

A little over a week ago, I had them over to my house to check out various set-ups, explain how they work, about the parts, charging them, etc. Also had made 2 eliquids for each of them to try based on their earlier comments. After they tried their chosen set-ups with 1 of their eliquids (while coughing alittle at first of course), and some basic reminders from me about their set-ups, eliquid safety, etc., they left with smiles on their faces, like kids with a new toy.

Visited them Thursday again, to see how they were doing and if they needed more eliquid, info., etc. Both are definitely really liking vaping, loving their eliquid (the ones that aren't tobacco by the way), and commented about how many fewer ciggies they've had already. Grandpa Robbie is loving his super simple TFA Peppermint, and his son Brian is really liking the Caramel Latte! So, I went back to my house and made them each a 30mL bottle and took it to them before I left to come home.

Their parting comment to me, after talking for about another 15 minutes, was, "Oh, almost forgot...the nextdoor neighbor wants to see if you can help him get started with vaping, too. He came over and tried both of ours, and he really liked it!"

So...looks like there may be yet another one soon!

An update? Sure, why not...

I've not been around much. You noticed? No. Oh, well...

First it was end of season for the broom shop. Then it was year end for the business. Talk about a lot of paperwork and hair pulling.

However, that's not the real reason I've been more or less (mostly more) absent.

I went in to get scoped... both ends... asked the doctor to dress like an alien so at least I'd have a good story.

The story is not so good.

On the down low, I'm fine.

Up top, my esophagus is a wreck. Barrett's esophagus throughout, ulcerations, dysplasia, hiatal hernia. I've had some 9 biopsies (throat feels like I swallowed a cheese grater). I've been ordered to give up all caffeine (coffee, tea, chocolate), sugar, alcohol, spicy foods, fried foods... might as well just shoot me.

Silver lining? None of this has anything to do with vaping.

Heelllllooooooo Tootle peeps. No I did not fall off the face of the planet
Just did a face plant off of a pallet in the barn. Thrashed damn near everything, most significant was my neck. Have been on reading, knitting, typing, iPad, keyboard, spinning, every damn thing restriction for months now.
Still limited, so consider every message read and liked. I will catch up over time I’m sure.
Missed everyone, especially my Hump day cheer.

You jumped off a pallet in the barn, girl??? ;)

Zen, I'm thrilled to see you again, and hoping with all sincerity that this heals quickly and your back to your own beautiful self!

I NEVER get tired of hearing stories like these, I just love it when others start on their vaping journeys.
