OH wow, I forgot about that!!!! Thanks, DH, for making peeps aware.

DPL & I don't normally upgrade anything, so we BYPASSED that fear (pun intended).

@Katdarling gave the ones we know, Mel. Unfortunately, most of the plate offerings are geared to 12 year old boys. We did pick out a few that we like though, and ended up getting them (back when we got the mods).

  • Stars
  • Samurai Sword
  • Tigress (something or other)

I like all three a lot, and swap them out semi-regularly.

I think that's it (Kat?). They're MUCH nicer than the stock plates, which protrude slightly, and aren't all that pleasant to the touch. Me NO like the stock plates. Gar-bage (IMO).

All korrectamundo, sweets. Stars, Samuri Sword, and Tiger (Tigress was a sweet UNIQUE tanks we had many moons ago)

:thumb:

Altho, I must say, I have less "hate" for my white stock plates than he.

Stuff I've won

Wow That's a bunch...
I've won a few things from contests here at ECF over the past few years,a couple mods and an atomizer.
Haven't entered any contests in a while though.

I just got home and watched the PBusardo review of the Dagger. If you accidentally select "Upgrade", it bricks the device?!!!!!

I totally forgot about that, DH, and I'm glad you pointed it out.

Basically, the battery door is so easy that I rarely ever plug it in. If I do though, I just plug it in and leave it. If one hits Enter it's fine, because it defaults to "CHARGE". One would have to click over to "UPGRADE", then hit enter for it to brick.

I don't know of it ever happening to anyone but I do understand it's an issue. I see no reason to test it.

Altho, I must say, I have less "hate" for my white stock plates than he.

I hate 'em.

I'm interested in the Carbon Fiber (not an option back when), and possibly black matte. We shall see.

I should have also mentioned that if you just plug it in and leave it, the menu disappears quickly. So it's not like you'll hit the button by accident if you leave it that way.

I don't know if this helps but wanted to throw it out here.

You're pulling me back in.

I've been having the urge to buy a mod. It was between the Eleaf Invoke and the EHPro Mod 101. And now the Bad Santa VO Tech Dagger. Decisions, decisions.

Dunno the Invoke, but I do know the 101, DH. I like it, but there's not a true comparison since the Daggz is a box and the 101 is a tube.

Any preference on style?

If you choose the Daggerette, you shouldn't have a prob with that "BRICK" thang. The battery change, the battery door is one of the easiest on the scene.

Write if you need enabling. ;)

The 101 I actually already have. I bought it because I wanted a tube mod that could handle lower resistance than my Provari. But, I like it so much that I'ld like to grab a backup while they're still available.

The Invoke I"ve been wanting for a while. Not really, really jonesing for. But, it's supposed to be about the smallest dual batt mod around. So, I think it would be a good mod to have.

The Daggz I hadn't really heard of before. But, it's cheap, colorful, and apparently recommended. So could be fun.

Ya'll seem to really, really like the Daggz. Can you tell me why? That might help with the decision.

Eleaf.

Eleaf and Joytech have some parent company that manufactures both of them. I think they put all their new engineers at Joytech and let them "make" mods until something good comes along and then graduate them to Eleaf. Or, if there is a Steve Jobs type like the person who designed the CLR coil, he is quietly stashed away somewhere making custom mods for like the Chinese elite.

That's my explanation for loving Eleaf and hating Joytech, but it's mere speculation at this point. LOL.

For me it's a combination of things (and I think KD might be in the same kamp, not kounting the stock plate thingie) :D

  • It's sturdy (very well built)
  • All edges and corners are nicely rounded off (no sharpies)
  • Fantastic battery door (easy to use and stays in place at all times)
  • Ability to swap plates (Bling kounts!)
  • EASY menu (besides the forgotten Brick thing, of course)
  • VERY smooth vape (surprised both of us)
Like Kat, I'm also fond of the 101 mod. It's a VERY nicely done visual knock off of the Dani tubes, even if it wouldn't be mistaken for one when held and used. If not for the auto cut-off it would be one of my favorites.

I like the Invoke but haven't been drawn enough to buy one. My experience with eLeaf products has been "Okay" (not great). VERY personal/subjective though, and I'm expect it's also a good mod for the money.

In other words, go with the one that appeals to you most. You can't go wrong that way. :)

Well, the website decided for me. It wasn't happy with my billing address. (I'm in a moving around period). So, I just went to FT and used PayPal. Ordered both the 101 and the Invoke, plus some orings.

New shinies on the way!
