One of my tornado battery is getting stuck on.... The light will not go off!!!! Anyone else have this problem?

ok i smacked it off my desk and it turned off... i googled this issue and it seems others have experienced this, but i didn't find the reason why this happens?
I haven't experienced the stuck on but I have issues with how you press the button. I need to press it dead smack in the middle. If I press it off-center, it won't work.
