I have been off cigs for over 40 weeks & tonight I drank heavy with two friends I haven't seen since I quit who are heavy chain smokers.

I was twitching for a cig, couldn't think of anything else, was vaping like a beast, and somehow managed not smoke.

I consider this my biggest challenge yet! Amazed that I didn't give in.

I'm actually shaking right now, cause it took so much out of me to not smoke.

Thank God for vaping! Woo that was close!

Tell me about it. I work in a bar. I am surrounded by beverages of the cold filtered and adult variety. I drink often. The hardest test I've had in my second week in has been handling drunk cravings for a smoke. I find tobacco flavors to make it worse while non-tobacco flavors instantly kill cravings. Funny how that works. Now it's about finding flavors that pair well with my favorite beers and drinks.

Congratulations! way to go.
Now celebrate, buy yourself something with the money you are saving.
Doesn't have to be big, a little something just for you.

Maybe a picture or picture frame, little peice of jewelry, nic-nac, key chain. Something you will keep that you can look at periodically and be reminded that you won that day and will continue to do so.

That is absolutely awesome and inspiring. I am still pretty new to all this but to see that you made it through such a major temptation gives me hope for the future! Thanks for your post!!!!:toast:

I give you mass props, don't think I could work in a bar, and not think of cigs & booze all day! Most the people I know gave up smoking, are light smokers or have never smoked. I actually drink regularly but that was the first time with friends who are chain smokers whom I used to see and smoke with on a weekly basis.

Nice job!
I keep a couple bottles of higher nic/ strong flavored juice just for social drinking situations, does the trick and I don't feel tempted.
I feel like at this point in my vaping career I would want to yack if I took a puff off a cig.

I have it down to 9 - 6 mgs, but may buy a bottle of 18 mg, for those break glass in case of emergency days!

Congratulations! way to go.

I have a tattoo from a failed attempt 7 years ago. Jewelry, picture frame; great ideas.

Congrats. I'm surprised you made it through.

I try not to hang out with my smoker buddies anymore, lol. I call them and try to encourage them to try vaping sometimes.

I don't want the smell on me or my clothes, myself. My wife hates the smell and my cats and dog never really liked it much either.

Yeah, I've been avoiding them like the plague! Its hard being around people you associate smoking with, especially when you throw alcohol in the mix.

Thanks to everybody for your kind words and support! I was pretty amazed the next day that my post was actually was readable!

Here's to all of us trying to get past that dirty **** habit. :toast:
