Actually I think speeders are more dangerous. Rules are made for reasons.

I believe rules are made for reasions, but speeding, by definition is going over the speed limit even by 1 mile. So Not to get in an argument or start a flame war, but do you go 5-10 mph over the limit? Or do you go under? Have you ever gone over? If so, (Again not starting an argument) You are a speeder. So by your statement, you are dangerous. But anyway back on track.

This is also a reply to the post before this, we are not being sneeky, or anything like that, we are doing it to convenience other people, so they do not get vapor in their face. Take NYC for example, you can NOT smoke anywhere legally. Now, since you cant smoke anywhere, I can still vape, but will I flaunt it in a smokers face by blowing smoke? No, I will go around and hold my breathe so the vapor stays in longer.

Here, imagine you are in a movie theater, watching your favorite movie. All of a sudden half way though, a blue/green/orange whatever light comes out of no where every 10 seconds, isnt that annoying? Again stealth vaping for convenience. I would rather be the guy to say "Hey look at me, I can vape in here and you cant smoke" And honestly I am that guy. But I never do it where someone can be distracted.

Stealth vaping is for convenience and courtesy of other people .

What part of telling someone to mind your own business seems militant?.

Short of yelling fire in a crowded theater, I find nothing wrong with telling anyone, anything...

Vaping to prove a point? I tend to find that militant... just as I would if someone decided to smoke an analog to prove a point or drink a beer to prove a point.

It's about propriety and consideration... which seems for some, to be out of the question... both smokers/vapers and nonsmokers/nonvapers alike...

idk about you, but I personally refuse to act or be like those I complain about...

I agree with you on that statement that I highlighted and bolded. I will NEVER Vape if someone asks me to please stop. (Depending on who/where I am like outside I wont.)

I am all for arguing that because of the nature of e-cigs the smoking bans should not apply to them. However we have to be considerate of how we do it too.

I find it easier to ask owners of small business and usually I get told it's fine. Big chains not so much, managers there are not there to think they are there to enforce rules and fill out paperwork and they don't have a memo about vaping yet(please not I have been a big chain GM before ).

If I am forced to be close to other people I keep tend to stealth just to keep the vape away from them. Safe or not if they don't do it there is no reason to hit them with clouds of it.

We really need show that we are not going to be trapping unwilling people in giant vapor clouds where we vape. We should not hide it as much as possible, but also respect the situations were we need to tone it down. There are some places that do have rules forged in ignorance and we should fight to get the rules changed.

However, I don't see anything wrong with being sneaky if you need to when you are trapped and can't just step outside. Yes it could backfire on us. I just understand that being trapped on a flight for what can be hours and being told you can't do something that you need to do because the people who made the rules were idiots(sorry unlike speeding there rules were not made with any motivation other band wagon jumping and blind fear) forcing your hand.

As for me on flights I just pop off to the bathroom mid flight. Nobody to see and no evidence left behind. If there is a meal I usually run and scream "What did you people do to me!" first. Nobody goes in that bathroom for hours after that.

I appreciate your consideration of those around you. I was in a small room with lots of people (playing a Cthulu LARP) and one guy was vaping. I didn't vape at that point but knew what it was. I didn't say anything to the guy, I'm not the type of person who confronts people about anything ever. But I didn't like the smell of his vape, I don't know what it was seeing as I didn't ask, but it was kind of sweet and it bothered me. So I just wanted to say thank you! I wish everyone could be as considerate.

Krazie .. what is the law in NY State? I understood that selling of vaping stuff was no longer allowed. That would sure push it underground. Is my info wrong?

No smoking in NYC is not allowed at all, you can buy vaping eq. But in NYC you cant smoke >25 feet from a building.

Well, maybe not militant, but at the very least, deliberately confrontational. Which I don't believe is going to lead to a mutual understanding between two parties. I know it's a knee-jerk reaction when someone dictates your behavior, but you can catch more bees with honey than you can with vinegar.
