So I have a few coils (Triton) that are good but no wicks to go with them. I tried some pretty aggressive juices that for some reason did a number on the wicks (Voodoo and Boba's Bounty to name a couple). I have been to a few B&M's but no one seems to carry just wicks, and definitely not Halo coils. Is there something else I can use as a wick? Would cotton work or is that just for bottom coils? SS mesh in a Triton coil?

I believe the coils are 2mm silica and I think you can buy some on Amazon. I've replaced some flavor wicks w/SnC cotton that I boiled, dried overnight and that works too. I've never replaced the bottom wick before or totally rebuild the coil.

One of the guys on the Chat thread suggested 2mm braided Ekowool wicking, also available on Amazon. I've got several feet ordered for my triton tanks and it looks like good stuff. A bit pricier than the 2mm twisted, but it shouldn't fray or unravel because of the braiding.
i have a few feet of that...i build coils with it...its no better or worse for fraying that the twisted wick. the one problem i notice with the ekowool is that it gets bubbles stuck in the middle of it that seem to restrict its wicking ability...
Agreed, not a big fan of ekowool but some people seem to like it.
Will do. I was looking for straight up braided silica, but could only find Ekowool. I'll give it a try, the local B&M sells regular 2mm silica if the Eko is crap.
I have replaced wicks on several Triton coils with 2mm silica and it works PERFECTLY. I have yet to burn up a single coil in 6 months! 
I see there is a lot of interest in this! Me, too. I vape pretty much straight VG juice which does not wick as well as the higher PG blends do. All of my used wicks have little burn marks that I am either pulling left or right when I clean or just tossing the bottom wick altogether. But the coils themselves are still in great shape. I know they are cheap to replace, but I would rather use the money for something else, like more tanks, batteries or juices I called all the smoke shops near me and none of them carry 2mm silica wicks, but I found several sources online. I ordered 3 feet for $2.00 which should be here in a few days. Sounds like it might be hard to replace the wick that goes through the coil, though. I have heard the teflon tape works well, but I guess there is a learning curve. I have needle threaders for sewing, wonder if those would thread the wick through the coil without damaging it? Guess I am about to find out! Is it just the tanks with top coils like Halo that tend to burn wicks? I am tipping and swirling to keep the wicks saturated so much I am gonna get carpel tunnel, but it does help a little. I am wide open to any ideas ~ Wampscut, have you tried it yet??

I have tried the Teflon and it worked for me. Going to try the scotch tape after I clean my coils. Also, I learned not too long ago that the wicks do not burn, they can be cleaned as well. The burn marks can be removed by just rubbing them under warm water or burning it off with a lighter. I try to get as much life out of everything as I can ;p
I cannot get my (orig) bottom wicks to move from the coil. I'd like to move them just to expose a new part of the wick under the windings. But they don't budge.

I would think holding each end of the wick and twisting counter clockwise from each other will tighten the wick making it smaller.
But I'm not a tinkerer.
