It has more to do with the protection circuit used than the battery its self. I have used standard attys and cartos for a while with out problems. But after a bit of use the resistance of an atty or carto can lower dramatical causing greater drain on the battery. The circuit can also clip if the connection on the pos and or neg side of the battery bad. Once this happens the protection circuit can kick in and "clip" the power to prevent damage to the battery. Normally this will happen on 14500's or smaller batts. But it has been known to happen on protected 18650 as well. AW uses a superior chip compared to ultra-fire or trust-fire batteries and the AW's are less prone to clip under higher loads.

My Woodvil has the same issue with the off/on switch. I followed Rob's pm'd instructions, though, and it took care of it. It's happened once since then, so I simply went through the couple of steps again and it's been fine since. :)

Thank you, Rob! I wasn't looking forward to sending my Woodvil back and glad for the quick fixer-upper advice.

I LOVE MY WOODVIL!!!!
