hey all, i started e smoking about 3 weeks ago, totally stopped smoking cigs which i was real happy about but after like a week i realized that i was smoking the e cig just as much (at the end i was a really light smoker, down from a pack a day to 2-6 a day) so i decided to just see what would happen if i just didnt put together my ecig in the morning and guess what? i was in a great mood all day with no cravings until night time but they were totally bearable. since that day of not smoking anything ive prob puffed the ecig like 5 times randomly just when im bored. i plan on getting o nic juice so im not getting my body to think im back to being addicted.

anyway the point of this rant is just to tell you guys to try and put the ecig down for a day and see how strong your addiction really is, i know this wont work fot everyone because i weened myself down and was determined to quit before i even got an e cig but hey maybe youll join me in the freedom of having killed an addiction!

That is awesome!!! I'm working on trying to put it down more myself. I do find myself vaping a lot more than smoking. In a long conversation with a new supplier I'll be doing some testing for last night, he really gave me an idea to have a smoke break like I did with a ciggy instead of just vapin on this thing 24/7. LOL I just put it away in the drawer vapin on low Bannana from Parked at Diet Smokes, pretty yummy, but I'm going to make myself put it down more and go do other things. It's hard!

I think I've noticed this too. When I'm at my comp, I pretty much vape constantly but when I go out, I usually just forget to until I get home for the mostly. maybe I've weaned myself all the other gick in 'hot fags' or else it is just a psychological thing.

For example> when I smoked, As soon as I got off work or went on break or came out of a restaurant/bar or just before work etc, I would scoff down a cigarette because I knew I would not be allowed to a have smoke for a while so I had to get that nicotine into me in the hope of preventing a craving attack, but now with the ability to vape anywhere for the most part - it's not a concern ergo It's not on my mind - know what I mean? But at home on the comp, I guess I've got myself into a bit of a habit, somewhere where I never used to smoke.

She's totally right!
I do this same thing, I was vaping like crazy so each time that I'm done I just disassemble it. The huge difference is that there is no .... end to a e-cigg so we keep going to we need a visual cue. This turned out to be very true when you look over and something clicks in your brain that you have to assemble but most importantly why you disassembled it.

I started a thread to this effect a few days ago. This is really all about your mind set, and my purpose was to warn folks that ANYTHING in life can become a crutch. Used as a tool, e-cigs give the user the ability to self moderate nicotine intake to a degree, and truly step down. Once you hit very low to no nicotine, you've got a habit, not an addiction. Habits are tough for many people to break.

I have little doubt about my reflection on my own case. Smoking was an addiction. I would curse at my best friend, almost as if I wasn't in control, if I didn't have my smokes. For me, the e-cig made quitting real cigs almost painless, because I replaced almost every habit, and maintained the addiction. Now, with this tool, I have weaned myself down to very low and no nic juices with no effect noticed at all because the habits are still there.

When I decide to put down my e-cig for good, I'll be ready to somehow replace this habit of picking it up, and inhaling from it. This is already going to be much easier, as I've found that my old smoking triggers are GONE. I no longer NEED a smoke (or vape) right after a meal, on my work breaks, right after starting my car, etc.

Better than just doing something and hoping for the best, you've got to have a plan and stick with it. I never thought I'd be a non smoker even one year ago. Now, I know I'll never smoke again. It was the right plan, and the right tool for the job for me.

Don't make that ecig lonely tho, hes always there when you need him :) I have trouble putting mine down at the computer but when I am busy I completely forget to vape! Its always refreshing to go back to the e-cig after a break, bigger throat hit and more flavour!

Excuse me! She's a girl and her name is sasha:evil:

I did some 18 mg early yesterday morning. I had another m401 loaded with no nic juice that I used all day. Swapping to the 18 mg after dinner and once more just before bed.

If I'm doing something mindless like browsing the web or watching TV, I don't want to be sucking down nic juice. I want to consciously be consuming nicotine. Paying attention to how much my intake is.

Here's my biggest request of former smokers/vapors. PLEASE do not become the ex-smokers from hell, preaching about how wonderful not smoking/vaping is and how everyone must now follow your example. The addiction to smoking/vaping so often turns into a more obnoxious addiction to preaching the wonders of not smoking/vaping once people quit. Please be happy for yourself and then make a vow to only offer advice about quitting when someone asks how you did it. Thanks.

I will say that I make it 6 hours without my e-cig at work. I get in at 6 AM...get annoyed around 7 AM and hit the e-cig. Then I hit it again around 8:30. Then I hit it at lunch.

From lunch until the time I go home, I don't use it...I don't even think about it.

But, at home, when I'm on the computer...I can't put it down.

Either way, I can say that it is much easier to ignore.
