I hate to admit it but your right. Unles someone can come up with some unicorn hair and gypsy tears all hope is lost. I'm going to watch the Harry Potter marathon that's coming up and try to find more clues.

Oh dear. Somebody doesn't know a farthing thing about agriculture, and tobacco agriculture in particular. In addition to Virginia, Brights (Orientals) and Burleys, there are a whole bunch of other tobacco strains grown and used for cigarettes, cigar and pipe tobaccos (and now, natural tobacco leaf flavor extractions). (And no, those other strains are not called "Marlboro" or "Camel" or "Salem". :D)

Finally, I am happy to report that my 11/08 bottle of "Original Gandalf" tastes remarkably like the inimitable Gandalf #1 that got HHV off the ground and into The Big Leagues -- THIS is most certainly not "Cherrydalf"! (Current Gandy, aka Gandy #3)

Pray tell what, besides derision and ridiculing, are you contributing to this discussion? If you can put down everyone else it will mask your ignorance of the subject matter? Why not just listen and learn?

All over the place
1971, while the term exotic may not be part of your lexicon, it is being used by me and others as the definition states:

exotic: introduced from another country : not native to the place where found <exotic plants>

strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual <exotic flavors>

Exotic and fantasy (which it seems as if you are thinking) are different, though some have had exotic fantasies of Gandalf.

Here is an interesting book: Tobacco: A Cultural History of How an Exotic Plant Seduced Civilization: Iain Gately: 9780802139603: Amazon.com: Books

Hey, sigaro, still looking for that Gandalf clone? I think you should try TFA Asian RY4. To me, it tastes like a partial Gandalf (or, tastes like Gandalf has some sort variation of this flavoring in it).

Anyways, check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks, I am still searching and I'll give TFA Asian RY4 a shot!

I have found that the 12% Graham Cracker destroys my SS wicks in one 3ml tank. So I've adjusted it down to 5% in my latest batch and I'm testing now. Still searching for the right pipe extract to produce something close enough to Gandalf to make me happy.

Just got to reading this thread and I have some thoughts.

I don't have any "gandalf" to test and I refuse to buy vendor juice. However I think I may be able to contribute.

All this talk about a tobacco mix having a 0 nic option reminds me of many of the Chinese supercontrates Ive tried. They have a vast selection, cheap, and echos precicely the "YOU'LL NEVER FIND IT! " angle.

I have heard that several HHV mixes are from chinese super concentrates. There is a list here: http://www.ecigexpress.com/flavorsexpress-tobaccoexpress-c-16_96_98 and here: DIY-Flavoring-Alcohol Base | E Liquid Flavoring-Alcohol Base - E Cig : Joye eGo & eGo-T | Boge Leo | Cartomizers | E-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes | eGo Tank

It is probably a mix
And probably several more places to get Chinese super concentrates. These ARE alcohol based.

I'm going to mix myself some "puff the magic dragon" and some "Zeddicus" and maybe some "Nicodemus"

Maybe I'll make up some graphics and put them in my signature

Some threads just die a natural death.

Death is so final though...

With some of the advice in this thread, I have actually made some progress on my HHV clone recipe. After experimenting with many of the TE concentrates, I've found French Pipe and Captain to provide the best match. Here's the latest recipe I'm vaping right now. Still wouldn't call it a "perfect match" but it's fantastically close.

TE - French Pipe 4%
TE - Captain 3.5%
TFA - Graham Cracker 3.5%
TFA - Cotton Candy 0.5%
TFA - Pumpkin Spice 0.5

Sorry, but which flavoring supplier is "TE"?
