I'm vaping 2.5% FA Hazelnut steeped 16 days. I'm declaring this flavor a keeper. It leaves a very realistic hazelnut taste in the mouth. On the exhale it's slightly musty like wet hazelnut skins, nutty and slight sweetness. I think this'll complement tobaccos really well.

I received my new FA order: 7 Leaves, Maxx Blend, Maple Syrup, Black Currant and Cream Fresh. I mixed them into juices and started steeping.

7 Leaves and Maxx Blend don't have much strong aromas right from the bottle. Maple Syrup has a strong caramel like aroma. Black Currant smells good with little bit on the perfumey fruit like. Fresh Cream is interesting, it smells like kind of sour milk. We'll see how that'll turn out.

I smelled the other FA flavor bottles. The best aromas I'm getting are from Virginia and Hazelnut. This is in line with what I liked so far best when I vaped them. Pineapple smells too artificial. I'm not liking caramel either. Coconut is in the middle range, some realistic coconut notes in it. Cigar Passion is very perfumey in line with what I got when I vaped it.

Meanwhile, based what some nice people here recommended for Hangsen and Inewera, I've been going over these threads:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-no-perfume-no-caramel-no-vanilla-no-tba.html
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/477601-inawera-few-reviews.html

In the first thread, people were mostly discussing Hangsen with RY1 and Indian Tobacco leading as top tobacco flavors. Then, they discovered Inewera and that thread fizzled :)

In the Inewera thread, RY1 was still mentioned but some people suggested that most Hangsen tobaccos are similar compared to the uniqueness of Inewera tobaccos. In terms of Inawera tobaccos, so far I couldn't find a very strong contender. As Blueser suggested here, Toni D Milano S'Camel was mentioned quite a bit. Some people liked it, a person suggested that it tastes like FA Desert Ship. So far overall, from what I gather, Inawera's strength is in its tobacco additives which enhance tobacco juices.

I found "three classes" of Inawera tobacco additives:

1) Wera Garden Tobacco Absolute Virginia (and other TAs): Fresh, sweet and dry tobacco leaves taste.

2) Wera Garden Dark Tobacco: Flavour used to aromatize Tobacco Universal Base. Very characteristic "tobacco” taste, quite dense and heavy. 1%

3) Wera Garden DNB, This is characteristic "ashy" flavour, quite thick and heavy. Recommended dosage is 1%. Gives tobacco, cigarette - "ashy" flavour to each aroma. Added to ready tobacco aroma, double it "ashy" ...

I understand what DNB brings to the table, but not sure about the differences between what TA and Dark Tobacco bring to a vape.

I'm still working on finishing the Inawera thread.

I'm making a tentative list:

Hangsen
RY1
Indian Tobacco

Inawera:
Toni D Milano S'Camell
Smooth Leaf

Toni D Milano Amphora, Full pipe tobacco aroma. Begins with slightly sweet fruity taste and smoothly changes to dark coffee-chocolate taste to end up as dark, bitter tobacco flavour.

Wera garden Tobacco absolute Virginia, Fresh, sweet and dry tobacco leaves taste. Dosage 10-15 drops on 10ml e-liquid.

Wera Garden Dark Tobacco, Flavour used to aromatize Tobacco Universal Base. Very characteristic „tobacco” taste, quite dense and heavy. 1%

Wera Garden DNB, This is characteristic "ashy" flavour, quite thick and heavy. Recommended dosage is 1%. Gives tobacco, cigarette - "ashy" flavour to each aroma. Added to ready tobacco aroma, double it "ashy" ...

Wera Garden Symphony, Gentle salty tobacco taste with a hint of sweetness - perfect flavour harmony

Thanks to all here again for suggesting the various FA, Hangsen and Inewera tobaccos!

I have always wondered if Inawera DNB works the same way as Bitter Wizard from Flavor Art. Has anyone compared the two? What is missing from my vape is that slight bitterness that comes from smoking. I have tried adding a couple of drops of coffee or espresso and it helps to some extent.

Try 1 drop/10ml of apple cider vinegar ACV.

I may have poor taste buds, but could someone explain what ash tastes like?

Tastes and smells what you might think the bottom of a used ashtray might be like.

Here is a very good example of a flavoring that tastes and smells like a half-full ashtray of cigarettes:

TFA "M-Type" flavoring .... 10 ml M Type Premium Flavor (TFA)

Tip ..... Use very little (contains the "Tabanon" molecule) !

Thanks! I was thinking along the lines of cigarette butts in a watery ashtray plus kind of how fingers smelled after chain smoking half of a pack!

I retried 5% FA Cacao. OK, the cacao is definitely there but not very inviting as a stand alone vape. And I don't think it was meant to be.. I will most likely keep this as an additive to tobaccos at this time. It needs some creaminess and some sweetness to make the cacao jump :)

Or use with tobacco for a drier vape.

I put an order in at Bull City Vapor. The descriptions are what I gathered from reading various places:

VT nicotine (very clean nicotine with no after taste)
INW S'Camel (Analog like.. )
INW Little Space Drops/ L.S.D. (Strong tobacco with walnuts)
INW AM4A (Amphora) (Complex pipe flavor: tobacco, caramel, fruits/raisins, chocolate, coffee all blended smoothly)

Bases/Additives
INW Virginia TA (tobacco + ash)
INW Dark Tobacco (tobacco)
INW DNB (ash)

I was going to order HS RY1, Red USA and Indian tobacco too but they were out of these at the time.

I'm receiving my order tomorrow. I'm planning to mix S'Camel, L.D.S., AM4A and Dark Tobacco at the recommended dosages. Then steep them two weeks, then taste. Then add Virgina TA in all, steep two more weeks, taste. Repeat the same with the DNB by mixing it in all. Crossing my fingers here :)
