In my opinion a variable watts (and keeping extra heads) can eliminate a lot of frustrations for new vapors when quiting cigarettes. When new, you're often shooting in the dark on issues encountered. While, with experience, you likely know right away the cause and resolution. While I don't have the experience of some above, this is why I'd recommend a VW and keeping plenty of extra heads. And personally I've found the MVP2 an excellent choice at it's price point.

Best of luck to you.

I'm checking the shipping rates from Provape and its like $47. Anyone know why so high to Canada?
That's not including currency and duty/tax etc yet?

That's ridiculous. I have to believe that anything you would want is available within Canada though. I would never pay that much to ship anything that could fit in my mailbox.

I know. Wow living in Canada is again such BS at times like this lol. I'm like buying Small items. I bought a ps4 and Xbox one for the kids and Wii U with accessories with free shipping lol. I guess I gotta try and find another place. Wow this is such I mission.

Seems reasonable since Canada Post only delivers via dog sled. (Sorry, j/k.)

Just went to 101vape.com (where I bought my mode) and they have a big banner "Now shipping to Canada". I checked for you guys and their shipping to Canada is $6.99. However, they will not ship any batteries... Perhaps you could buy a mod and then source batteries locally?

Hi. I suggest getting the mvp2 for your brother. The provari is awesome, i have two.
But the mvp2 is great too.

They both have pros and cons.
The pros of the mvp 2, it uses your phone charger so you can charge in your car. It also is a pass thru you can vape while charging, even in the car. The battery life is over two days on one charge. Fits great in the back pocket. Has variable wattage. It will charge your cell phone or ipod though i have never used that feature. Has a solid sturdy build. Doesnt roll around. 101 vapes sells it for $40

Provari is expensive as heck but is repairable. Extra features such as longer battery life and pass thru cost more.
It is built solid. Looks great,,feels, great. You can buy more batteries pretty cheap. One button navigation.
But it looks like it will cost even more for you!

Its a great device and i use my provaris a lot. But when leaving the house i have a tendancy to take my mvp. Even if i have been using it all day i have plenty of battery life left to take out. If it does die i use my cell phone car charger or sit next to an outlet. For the price you can get two and never have to worry about battery life.

I like my mvp 2 and provari equally. Im glad i have both. And again i usually use my provari. But alot of times, with 4 provari batteries, i end up with 4 dead batteries. My provari dies on me alot when im out and about. Im not good about bringing extra batteries and you cant charge the batteries over night safely, that i have read anyway. The mvp2 stops charging once its done. And i love that i can plug it in and vape.

Before i bought my provaris,
I charged my mvp every other night. I plugged it in next to my bed and vaped while watching tv while it charged. Unplugged it in the morning and was good for another two and a half days. And im a pretty heavy vaporer.

I have held other mods and have vaped off them at a kiosk where i hung out and the quality of these two devices is supurb!

I think you cant go wrong with either one.

This is all my opinion. Hope it helps you somehow

Great advice and I think I'm going to pick up atleast 1-2 for a back up and my brother. For that price can't go wrong.
thank you:)

I bought an MVP2 (clone) for $40. However, it has a non-replaceable battery, so I'm dubious they'll ship to Canada. You can also buy this same unit (I think) from FastTech.com at similar price and free shipping. This could be your best route. This company is reliable but shipping can take 3-5 weeks. Just go ahead and order -- and then keep yourself distracted until arrival. Don't forget to order tanks, extra heads or coils/wick, and juice. I wasn't happy with my juice purchase there (Liqua) and would suggest trying elsewhere. YMMV.

Hi
I made a purchase at FastTech but canceled it this morning due to being the MVP not MVP2.
Hours later I guess they never checked messages in open ticket and sent the canceled item.
What to do lol.
They don't carry the MVP2 on website when I checked just now.

ProVape got back to me today saying they couldn't do anything about shipping price and that to find a local dealer through their site.
Problem is there are no canadian dealers from their site. I found a great dealer in Minnesota called ecigclubhouse.com. Their prices are higher but the owner was a super great guy and going to ship it free to make up for it and spent like an hour telling me about all the other models and basically the industry.

If all goes well hopefully I'll have 1 Provari 2.5, 2 VMax V5's, 2 MVP2's not MVP's I canceled, amd some good accessories. ;)

Roflmao I never saw that. Well then I must contact them again. I wish they had the carbon black color?

Is there a reason you got the clone instead?

Check wattage and voltage buttons and you can see they're clones (ref. youtube comparison video ). I got the clone cause I'm cheap and wasn't sure if VW would be the cat's meow. It is, and these are a nice solid devices. Original fasttech order was twice returned and finally refunded during the Hong Kong battery blockade of 2013. My unit then came from 101vapes in the US at same or better price -- and I believe they're identical.

I quit smoking after me and my wife got married 9 years ago and found out we were having our first child. It was luckily easy for me for some reason. My brother on the other hand has now got a wife and first child 14 months old and I really worry for his health and his wife's. He is a heavy smoker and heavy gamer and has really gotten out of shape. When we were younger all we did was go to the gym to work out or do martial arts.

First of all, congrats on quitting, and second of all, thank you for caring about your family members as well. I've recently quit smoking and started vaping this past Christmas. My advice, is buy something inexpensive such as an iTaste VV 3.0 Starter Kit.. It comes with all your brother needs to start vaping and to figure out if it's something he likes.. It's a variable volt / watt unit, and has EGO / 510 threads. I own one and imo the best "starter" vaper without a huge investment. It's not overly powerful, and technologically advanced as a ProVari and the like, but is easily upgradeable for what a new vaper would need it for.

Sorry I don't exactly understand what that all means. So the ones selling on FastTech and 101Vapes are clones?Don't they have to advertise that they're clones or do they have to advertise as being a genuine model like Ebay?

Why not just go to Canvape which is in Canada? They have everything you need. They have almost everything in your original list. Online. For brother, I would just start him off on Ego Twist, with some nice clearos and juice. You do not even know if he will like vaping, he might not?
I'm pretty sure he will love Vaping and not worried about it. He chases the nicotine buz and hates the gross taste of cigarettes/smell. Hes also wanting to get back in great shape again. He's got 3 bad addictions as of now smoking, World of Warcraft, and drinks only diet drinks nothingelse(not even water). We are gonna start with the MVP2's for now and maybe the ZMax V5's. I don't really like the look of the twist and heard they break alot but maybe that's just a few bad reviews.Canvapes don't have some models I'm interested in and prices are a bot high for me.I will probably get the Provari Zombie w/ green led lights for my main ;)

Hi Messiahlee and welcome to ECF! And thank you for the honorable mention in your OP. I'm flattered.

I've been gone for a while and just saw your thread. AFAIK, Fasttech and 101Vapes sell the genuine MVPs 2. A friend ordered recently from the 101 Vapes and she's happy with her purchase. Fasttech has been pretty good with their listings--if they say that a battery is Innokin itaste, that's what it is. The only problem with FT is that some of their shipments are being stopped at customs, so be prepared for a long wait.

That said, everything on your original list is top notch gear, so really you should choose what you like. I do own a ProVari and there's nothing wrong with it, believe me, but I use my Sigelei Zmax mini (stainless) all the time and I like it a lot. I actually reach for it (and for my VV eGo batteries) more often because I use a lot of eGo-threaded atomizers, and they are a PITA on my ProVari--you'll have to use a 510>eGo adapters and they are just plain awful.

Happy New Year and happy shopping!
