I've been vaping since march and I'm in love. When i'm at work or anywhere really and someone asks me "what is that thing in your mouth?" i answer my new BFF. Now i'm sure the large majority of us, if not all, started vaping to stop smoking and i'm no exception. After finding the right pv for for me (Joye ego with a drip tip, and only after 2 purchases)i felt like problem solved, but no, then there's juice, replacement parts, and the everlasting question "If i can't drip and drive then what do I do?". That's what lead me here!! Everyone's info here was a little overwhelming a first but i found my way around and found what i thought would answer my biggest question and a good way to get through a day at work without having to carry a small arsenal of equipment, the Ego-T. With my next purchase of juice i bought a tank atty, then ripped my hair out in a constant fit of anticipation for what seemed like a decade (actually 3 days of checking my email every ten seconds for click-n-ship updates but who's counting). When the package finally arrived i rushed home from work ripped open the box filled a tank put the atty on my battery and was in vaping heaven THE END... ...(Two weeks go by).... So, now I'm back to using my regular ego with drip tip because my tank took a turn for the worse. Half of the time it was dry hits and the other half was weak semi-moist and more importantly semi-satisfying hits. I tried all the cleaning methods and adjusting the wick and all the other tips and tricks but no results. Next juice order i bought a 5 pack of empty cartos filled one most of the way using the condom/spinning method rotating flavors, which i actually liked a lot since i have flavor A.D.D. and love mixing flavors. The only thing i didn't like was i work 10 hr day and one carto just doesn't last and IMO mutes the flavor of the juices i hold most dearly, which brings me to the mystery and my actual question. The mystery started last night when i was filling a carto. Now I've read that a standard ego carto holds around 1ml of juice and 1ml of juice is around 25 drops, so i filled a condom with 20 drops to start then spinning to pack the carto. Once i felt i spun enough i followed with 5 more drops then 5 more and another 5 when i finally saw the juice come out the hole at the top followed by more spinning then in attempted to fill with 5 more drops but the liquid immediately came out the top again so i figured i was done replace the condoms on the carto and let it sit over night while i slept. When i woke up in the morning i put the carto on a freshly charged battery and tried vaping and barely any vapor came out. I tried a few more times and still barely anything. I figured it was just slow starting so i went about my morning and tried again before pulling out of the driveway and still no luck, so i dripped in my regular atty and left for the day. When i came home with what i figured was a bum carto i decided to dissect it out of anger and curiosity to find that the filler was almost dry, i figured if i had squeezed it out i would have had approximately 15 drops come out of the 35ish that i put in. So where did it go? I'm no scientist but I'd think it wouldn't have evaporated would it? I would think i inadvertently drank it except for the fact that was Djrum clove flavor and i'd be burping up spiciness all day. This leads to my question. Has this happened to anyone else and How much does a empty brand new carto really hold? Or if i gave up carots all together What type of tankesque device could i use that holds 1.5-2mls of juice and wont be too much work to refill which i could preferably see the level amount of remaining juice and could last 10-12 hrs. I've been looking at clearomizers and the elusive Go-Go but i'm not trying to shell out another $70.00 for a new starter kit just yet. Please help a conflicted and very long winded noob.

From what you said there I think you are very happy dripping, just don't want the hassle and problem driving. If that's the case I too think a bottom feeder will be perfect for you. If I use a filler carto I just keep dripping into the top until it pools and I get a little gurgling when I pull on it. Clearomizers are my go to carto and you can see how much is in there. Get a bottom feeder and you will be happy.

That is indeed a mystery!

I always wonder a little about where the juice goes myself. When I first fill, I get around 30 drops in the carto. When it's dry and I have to refill the most I can put in are about 10 drops. I know we don't vape it bone dry but you'd think you could add more than 10 drops.

Very odd. I never experienced what you did except when I had a bad carto.

BTW, you might be interested in the echo cartomizer. They're huge and on the website it says they can be refilled 100 times. They're a bit expensive, I think $5.95, but not that expensive if it lasts that long.

they look pretty nifty and for that price, just to try them out, it isn't too bad either

Here's one more vote for the REO. It's the absolute end-all of vaping. It's actually easier than smoking used to be. But....if you can't/don't want to shell out the money for that yet, you might consider a Vapemate. Super T Manufacturing, Innovative manufacturer of electronic cigarette products. They're not as good as a bottomfeeder, but they hold quite a bit of juice and once you get it down, it's pretty handy. I used one with my eGos for awhile until I got my REO.

Well, to your original question. It's possible that you were "over spinning" the carto. That is, have you checked the ceiling for juice spots? LOL. Really, that is the only thing I can think of.

I use the same Genuine Joye cartos. But I fill with a syringe. I can tell you that with the first fill it is important to over fill it just a tad. Takes about 1.2ml. Then I keep adding a tenth of a ml at time until it drips out the bottom.

Then blow out some of the excess from the top, into a piece of paper towel. Thats the only way I get by without the burning of dry filler taste on the first puff.

After the initial filling, it only holds around .8ml. And no worries about burning.

My mileage varies, but I can get by on 4 cartos every 24 hours. Heavy use.

BTW, if you are going to try the syringe method, you will need a 20ga sharp to puncture the seal, and an 18ga blunt point to fill. The 20 ga is so small that it is hard to get the juice into the syringe.

The 18ga blunt will just sit on top of the fill port as you slowly depress the syringe and rotate the carto.

LOL, it's really not as complicated as it sounds.

Funny you should ask this because I did hae a carto that that same thing happened with. It was like it was perpetually dry. It was from sitting. I'd fill it it wouldn't vape very good and after a few minutes I'd look at it and it would look dry. Where the juice ended up I don't know it was like it ate it... strangest thing. I've only had it happen with the one carto so far.
