Lithium batteries should not go in checked luggage. Take them all in your hand luggage.
sure I plan to take my Riva501 kit including spare battery in hand luggage and put it into a clear bag with a spare atty and cartridge also.
however the charger, spare attys, cartridges and extra juice will go into checked in luggage, will it be OK there?

I wouldn't put crucial supplies like liquid & my charger in a checked bag unless they were back-ups. I put everything vaping-related in my carry-on. Best rule of thumb is to treat vaping gear like prescription meds.

I carry a huge load of all my gear in my carry on nap sack, I have had to show it many of times, TSA is fully aware what ecigs are and have no problem with them at all. There is nothing illegal with these as well as carrying them on a plane, I keep everything separated, batts in one bag, Juice bottles in a big zip lock, attys and other stuff in another bag. Yes they have stopped me quite a few times but after looking at everything and me just saying they are all my ecigs and accessories they have never given me an issue at any airport in this country and others, again nothing illegal about the stuff or carrying it. Now using it on a plane is another story and if I do it is stealth only and in the bathroom, why push your luck and vape where people next to you and on the plane should be taken under consideration
When checking in at the US Air gate in Charlotte, NC the ticket counter clerk saw my omega e-cig protruding from my shirt pocket. She asked me if that was an e-cig and I said yes. She called TSA, and after a pat down I was told US Air does not allow functioning e-cigs on their aircraft. Basically, I had the choice of throwing out the batteries or the Omega. I through out the batteries. Just a heads up.
I'm not sure I wouldn't have argued that one if I wasn't rushed for the flight.
I may have mentoined this in a previous post but I always carry a self-addressed paddded envelope (with sufficent postage attached) when I travel in case the TSA (or now over-reaching check-in agents) have a problem with my PV or gear.

I have my first business trip since vapping next week. I called Airtran and spoke to the Director of Customer Relations. She said exactly what you did. Treat it the same as your prescriptions and medical equipment. She also advised that if I had original packaging it would speed things along should I run into a new person at the gate that had not completed training and was not aware of what an electronic cigarette is. There is a 3oz carry on limit for our juice. But to feel free to pack the rest in sealed containers in my checked baggage. Happy Flying everyone, not all airlines are ignorant.

Monarch Airlines do not allow ecigarettes to be used on the flight BUT if you get a window seat you can stealth vape all the way Smiley
Gatwick Airport was really straight forward, nobody batted an eyelid, the xray screener did not say a thing. Once I cleared customs it was a case of vape anywhere and everywhere, it was so good, it was my first ever flight whereby I did not feel anxious due to not smoking etc....this ecig thing I thought it fantastic in more then one way...
Taba Airport in Egypt was fine also, being in the sticks with like 4 flights a week only arriving there and taking off from there I thought there would be trouble but they were fine. The screener there asked me if it was a cigarette I said yes and that was it..
On both inward and outward journeys I had some e juice and spare attys and carts in my checked in luggage and walked through customs with both batteries and 2 bottles of 5ml juice
It was so straight forward and simple, no stress no worries and stealth vaping on the plane is the future...

Holy crap! My Darwin costs more then the price of airfare. I think I would have to leave, take my Darwin home, and buy another ticket

Hubby is flying out of a small airport in IL to FL tomorrow. He's a smoker but where he is staying at is nonsmoking and he is driving back a vehicle with his asthmatic Dad. So I have a very small shaving bag packed in his carry on. He isn't checking luggage. Two chucks, several sets of rechargeable batteries (should the batteries be completely removed from the chucks) two cartomizers and four clearomizers that are filled and ready to go, the clearos are in a zip locked baggy but i can throw them in the original box and then baggy them. None are attached to the pv's. I also put in a Chuck business card. He should be good?
I know some of this is redundant but the rules seem to change daily and I never fly, heck I don't really do airports period so I know zilch about any of it.

Sounds like you have it covered. Boxing the clearos before putting them in the zip-lock may be a good idea; would minimize any explanations about the wicks not being fuses of some sort.
People (TSA "agents") can be ignorant but cell phones and laptops don't require the removal of their batteries so PVs shouldn't be any different. Doesn't mean they would be, just that they shouldn't be.

Just for commuter info, I've flown with an ego, with all the trimmings including a 5 pack of clearo's and two 15ml bottles of juice on my carryon and had no problems whatsoever, and this was through two of the toughest airports around, Newark and Philly (both were flights to cleveland, return trips from both places.)
I heard one of the TSA agents say once to a trainee "See that? That's an electronic cigarette, you can pull that to check it if you want, but it's fine." So they know what they are, and how to deal with it. If you have a particularly large travel assortment, just check it. If you have an ego and a handful of filled cartos like me, you'll be ok. Just don't expect your syringe and needle tip to make it through.

I have flown with ego's without even a second glance. But now that I have a Darwin, I wonder about that. Obviously there are not a lot of Darwins out there, so the chances of security having seen one before is slim.
I got the close inspection because of my Provari leaving out of Phoenix on my way home. They pulled my bag aside and went through the routine. They were interested in the Provari. I explained what it was and they put it through the xray machine again along with my other stuff. I was asked to demonstrate it also. After that, I was good to go. I honestly think it was because my bag was so packed with stuff, they had a hard time seeing everything with their machine. All my ego-Ts (4) had full tanks and I had my extra nic-liquid in checked bags. They did not bother me regarding the liquid in the tanks at all.
My Darwin has been to five countries and through airport security at all of them (US, Netherlands, Germany, Finland & UK). Not ONE checkpoint even questioned the Darwin. In the Netherlands they asked about the eGo/Riva batts, not for security but because three of the agents smoked. I gave them the name of Liberty Flights UK and they all took notes as I took a few pulls off the eGo to show them what it could do. So travel with the Darwin.
Even after reading all this I admit I'm still nervous about my first trip through security. I'll have a 510 and an eGo when I go from Fairbanks to Boston and back. Sounds like I should just carry it all with me in my purse/carry on and keep my fingers crossed. I WILL cry if it is confiscated though, no question about that!
