To keep this short I have been in the market for a new flavor rda lately and somehow keep finding myself looking at a tugboat v2, the reviews for the thing are stellar but the pricetag...well...eh. I don't exactly mind spending 75 dollhairs on an atty, but I could also see myself content with waiting on a mako to come back into stock. So is it really worth the price? If not I would love to hear your suggestions, unless said suggestion is more expensive than the tugboat, then we are going to run into some issues lol

Looks to be a nice atty, but low air flow. If your use is just going to be a low resistance atty with good flavor, it looks like it would be a worthwhile purchase. Copper center post is nice, single screw center instead of dual makes it a bit easier to rebuild on. It has a copper firing pin, which the V1 did not, that is always a better choice. 75 bucks looks pretty good. It just depends on what you expect for it, and what you will be mating it to.

They now have slam caps and competition caps if the stock airflow is not your thing. It's a great rda. Here's a picture of mine that I posted in another thread. Highly recommended.

The Tugboat V2 is one of my favorites.
Easy to build on, looks great, nice and solid and the internally domed top cap seems to help give thickness to the vapor. As stated previously the draw with is moderately tight, but for sub-ohm builds down to 0.5-4 ohms it's just fine. The airflow can be increased with the use of after market AFCs and top caps.

$75 is actually pretty normal for an authentic RDA. I bought a clone which I liked so much, I invested in the authentic.

I bought my Original Tugboat from my local B&M for $45!! What?! Yes I did!! When I saw the online prices I was aghast! Couldn't believe it! I would NOT pay $75 for ANY atty, but *if* I were too, I would spend it on a Tugboat. Plus now with those new slam caps for additional airflow, pretty good choice if you ask me (which you kinda did...). I usually build at 0.5 ohm w/24 ga and I love the Flavor *and* clouds, it's a Great combo!

I own an authentic Tugboat v2. I think it is a fair price for an authentic American atomizer. I have many RDAs. But the Tugboat v2 is one that I still use frequently. I only use it with the flawless wide-bore top cap though. That really makes it so much more awesome.

ETA: if you doing dual coils, and you should, 24g should be closer to .2 ohm on a mech or unregulated mod.

I love both versions of the tugboat, as stated before you have the ability to get different top caps down the road. Another big plus is being able to call/email to get replacement parts directly from them. If you need something like a insulator, screws, or o-rings they will send them to you for the cost of shipping. I know the price can be a big pill to swallow especially with all of these inexpensive authentics that have come out recently but it is well worth it.

I have a question for you, Todai, if you wouldn't mind. I'm looking into purchasing either the (1) Slammed Cap, or the (2) Anarchist Competition Cap for my Tugboat V2. I can see how the six staggered air holes in the Competition Cap allow for greater cloud production. Is it safe to assume with the shorter profile of the Slam Cap that it would produce more flavor with average cloud production? I would greatly appreciate it if you, or anyone else for that matter, could do a short compare and contrast for me.

In case it would better help you make a suggestion, I'm using the Tugboat V2 on a Tugboat [Copper/Cerakoted] Mech Mod.

I love my tugboat, though I have recently had some major problems with my screws. It seems that the threading in the center post got messed up at some point , and is stripping it off my screws..ruins any screw I put in there...making it pretty useless. Sooo now I just use my Kennedy.
