Hey folks, is there anyone here who can add me to the FB BAM group? If so, would you message me off-thread and we can sort out the "friending" and such.
Thanks!
Kelt.

It's closed right now. I'm sure there'll be a chance to get in for the next batch.

ok guys this current batch has been delayed quite a bit because I upgraded some of my tooling and procedures mid batch including building the new wet diamond belt sander, but that's all done now and this batch is nearing completion, I'll have some pics for you guys in a little bit, but I am also starting to put together the list for the next batch right now to avoid the overlap delay between batches, I'm hoping that by the time this current batch is ready to ship out that I will already have the new list in place and materials on hand so I can start working on the next batch right after I ship this batch. reminders have been sent to everyone on the reminder list and if anyone here wants a spot on the upcoming batch then let me know now :) I'm expecting to start finishing up the current batch by this weekend and should start shipping current mods right after the weekend :)

Welcome to the regulated side Sloth! You always end up in the best places. REO, CC, now the regulated world and BAM!:thumb:
Knowing you, you don't want much evolving around your peaceful world in the hills but the outside world of mods is evolving...fast!

Yeah, I'm curious about it all. Those ultem are clearly as durable as a mech mod. I imagine the chip can be replaced when it goes bad. I just can't resist trying this out much longer. :D

I've been reading back through trying to catch up and figure it all out. As best I'm guessing based on what I've read, the DNA200s in Ultem aren't an option quite yet. I think a 75 would do me fine anyway. I carry batteries around all the time and don't mind it, and there's really no way I'd make use of more than 75 watts.

Do I PM Turbo or is there a list?

If you want durable you hit the jackpot! :headbang:I was always sold on mechanicals due to their simple, rugged nature. Always afraid of regulated waiting for a chip to fail after a drop or getting worn out etc. then be out a mod or in for expensive repairs. No more!!!!! This BAM is a tank! Already survived a few instances of the dropsies and came out unscathed. Actually if I had the same drops with an aluminum mod I think damage would have been MORE noticeable.

Not going to hijack this thread with starting a mechanical vs. regulated debate but you owe it to yourself to explore regulated. Just think, no more contacts to maintain, cleaning etc., constant power from start of battery to end, no more fiddling with different coil resistance with different juices, dial it right in on the fly, adjust power and warmth on the fly. That's just the tip of the iceberg!;)

I am definitely ready to explore it. If for no other reason than educational purposes, but I do think I would enjoy it. Especially TC. The thought of just tossing a simple spaced SS build in and pushing 40-50 watts through it is pretty appealing.

hey Ray whats up brother :) man you are one of those real die hard mech dudes :)

the biggest difference I think you will see immediately is #1, no more weekly contact cleaning and maintenance, just keep swapping batteries or usb charging every night and that's it, always just a soft feather touch of the button and "click", full power hit, just like you would get on a good mech with all silver contacts right after cleaning all the contacts, but then it just stays like that, week after week, month after month, just a soft "click" of the fire button and instant 100% fire... that's probably the single biggest thing that drew me to regulated over mechs personally, I hated all the contact maintenance and having to keep pressing harder and harder as the contacts degraded....

then of course there are all the other benefits like rudy speaks of, the list goes on and on but the soft click, always fire at 100% is probably the single biggest benefit of regulated over mech to me. now aside from the adjustability and dial-in-ability of a regulated mod in general, secondary to that is temp control... temp control is the kind of thing that many will think they don't really need until they actually experience it, you don't really have to experiment with temp control on a regulated mod like this, you can still use it just like you are now with kanthal or SS in straight power mode but I would highly recommend at least playing with temp control a bit, it can be a little finicky and there is a slight learning curve as there are some differences compared to what you are used to but the benefits to me are well worth the slight learning curve I'd say ...

as far as size and weight, this mod feels very much like a woodvil in hand, about the same size and weight and feel in hand, except I think that the squonk hole placement makes it even more comfortable to use for most people, less shifting of the mod around in hand between squonking and firing position and you can tailor the left or right hand orientation and squonk hole preference to the way you yourself hold and use your mod. this mod is actually slightly wider and a bit shorter in height than a woodvil but it's close enough that it has about the same in hand feel overall...

as far as durability I would put this mod up against just about any other out there, the only achelies heal of a regulated mod like this is water, you are not going to be able to drop it in a lake and then fish it out and keep vaping but other than liquid damage this thing is just as durable as some mechs and even more durable than many too, the chip is a replaceable component so a mod like this will last for many years no problem and the chips are no where near as delicate as some people think they are, chips not going to break if you drop the mod or kick it around a bit, the chip can last for years, some of my very first regulated mods are still going strong years later, to me what I see is either the chip dies right away which is very rare these days, or it just lasts for years as long as you don't submerge it or anything like that, they are far from delicate...

I did just start organizing another batch of these and I have actually overfilled the spots I have available for this run already bro, but I did have one guy who backed out too so I'll send you a pm, maybe I can squeeze you in, if not I can def get you in on the next batch

    Yay!

I run my BAM ultem DNA75 at 425 degrees at 30.2 watts and a 0.91ohm coil in a Stumpy. I come no where near 75 watts but the vape is so tasteful and smooth compared to DNA40 devices. I am sold on DNA75 devices now. I have another that I do not use in Temperature Control mode and just use regular Kanthal. I get a really good vape out of it, too!

@Rayonati Sloth Tim. Be excited. Be very excited. Stoked that you finally trying regulated. Even more stoked that you are picking the regulated mod that not only looks rad, feels like no other material in hand, but is put together to last and for ease of upgrade. Its made to stand up to an ayuss whuppin too.
