Thanks turbo I should find out more in the morning already had surgery once but It does not look good already had 2 herniated discs and now he says 2more have obliterated (not a good word) still keeping my head up and hoping for the best. Thanks for all the concerns. Will keep you posted. As I'm sitting at work with a bag of broccoli on my hamstring and peas on my back[emoji27]

Hey turbo been away a while. After asking so many times about that black ultem, let me say, they look awesome, especially the high gloss ones! Sorry for not making a choice yet. I'm pretty sure I will be going ultem dna 75 but let me confirm in some time.

And also I see I am number 2 on the list, you can bypass me without issues, don't want to keep people waiting.

hey Aal whats up

originally I set my doors to slide up because I felt that a door that can only slide up is the most secure against accidentally sliding down and falling off. in order to have the ability to slide the door off with a 22mm atty still mounted, I had to offset the atty slightly towards the rear to allow the door to slide up past it.

I have since had several people comment on the atty being offset so I took a poll and it seems that most people didn't like the offset atty, so I have since modified my design to a down sliding door, so now a centered atty will still allow the door to be removed with the atty centered.

all current dna75 mods now use this new down sliding door setup and all now have a centered atty so it's really not necessary to request this as this is now the new default design for all dna75's


also worth mentioning is that my dna200 over and under design does still have the original design of an offset atty and an up sliding door, simply because that design doesn't allow for a down sliding door because of the lower bottle chamber

So, am I the only person that uses trigger finger instead of thumb on firing button? I'm so used it since I've been using my custom woodvil that Turbo masterly crafted for me. I can't tell by the pictures the amount of taper on the new mod. Wondering if it will still feel good in my hand reversing it and using trigger finger. The woodvil feels good in my hand using trigger finger, tried turning it around and using thumb, feels weird to me, I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it. I'm thinking perhaps having the squonk hole made for a lefty so when I reverse it, it will be for a righty?! I think the smooth curve would feel good inside of the hand with the fatter square edge on the outside of the hand. I guess I may be getting ocd as the moment of truth is near!

Thanks peng I thought I had my back issues behind me as I do stretching and exercises just to keep it in good condition, was not expecting something like this to happen. Neuro surgeon is scared to operate as there are many risks involved so going with 6 weeks of intense PT, hopefully my spine responds and I can continue to manage through PT but if it doesn't then it's under the knife. The other great news the surgeon gives is he will someday have to put rods in my back something fun to look forward to. He won't do that till it gets real bad and he understands the advantages to doing it close to retirement age as he says I will be a disability case after that. Sorry for the long rant and interruption just giving everyone an update, probably won't be on much for awhile everyone take care and thanks for the concern.

I had a request from someone for something like this so I tried it and honestly, although personally I've been doing ok with the threaded 510 pin to the bottle tube connection, after using this setup myself in testing past few days I gotta say that it's actually much better, much easier to swap bottles out and also really makes it easier to get a 100% leakproof seal to the tube.

with the bottle tube going on to the threaded end of the pin there have been a few occasions that I've seen a drop or so of juice in my mods here and there but I always just chalked it up to being sloppy with a bottle swap or not getting enough thread engagement by being lazy and only pushing the tube on part way, but since doing this new style pin it's been bone dry and it slides on and off so easy.

I sealed off a 510 and put a lot of excess pressure on the bottle to pressurize it and torture test it and try to really make it leak and couldn't make it leak no matter how hard I tried, I think it actually seals better than the threaded connection to the tube even though the tube now slides on and off much easier, so this will be the new 510 pin going foward on all of my dna75's and all the current ultems being sent out right now also have this new modified 510 pin

the varitube 510's have been pretty awesome from the beginning but now with the few mods I've done to them there even so much better. as far as the modifications that I do the the varitube 510's, first I slot the head to accept a flat screwdriver tip making removal and reinstall and adjusting them much easier, then I added the o-ring at the atty base since the last batch of mods making the atty base totally leak proof at the top of the mod, and now this new smooth bottle nipple winds up making it what I think is the perfect 510. I also have been soldering the wire to the 510 directly to one of the brass nuts and it's been working fine with no failures, but I did have report of one mod that seems to have pulled this wire off of the nut, so as an added precaution I also have now made a new copper ring terminal specifically for this connection as just an extra strengthening measure.

another tweak that I'm now doing since switching to the down sliding doors is, I'm now using a total of 6 magnets to lock the door in place very securely, 3 on the mod side and 3 on the door itself. it may be a little overkill but I really like a secure door and since there now down sliding I wanted them to still be very secure to eliminate the chances of a door sliding down and falling off accidentally. the door retention with 6 neodymium magnets is really nice and secure and I no longer am apprehensive about a down sliding door being less secure, it locks in place with authority and it's very secure, I like it

I'm amazed with the way your mind works and your ability to thoroughly explain every detail. I sure hope this pt or even surgery goes well and quickly so I might have the chance to get back on the list.
