The later survey, CASAA I believe. I didn't like the options to one of the main questions. Among the answers it seemed to be slanted. Why did you start using an e-cig? For me and I'd guess many if not almost all it was "to quit smoking." It wasn't to get nicotine but in a way that's healthier than smoking, it wasn't because I saved money (although I do), it wasn't to reduce although that's how I started, e-cig and an analog when I felt like it based on advice from folks here and was off analogs in 3 days. None of those fancy reasons, none of that extra logic, just "to quit smoking."
Unfortunately, "to quit smoking" is subjective and doesn't quite mean the same thing to everyone.

To some, to "quit smoking" means to "to quit smoking tobacco." To others, it means "to quit using nicotine." So you see, I couldn't just say "to quit smoking" as an option.

Which does "quit smoking" mean to you then?

And you are actually mistaken - so far, 68.3% have chosen "To continue to have a "smoking" experience, but with reduced health risks" and 11.6% have said "To use as a smoking cessation device to quit my nicotine addiction completely."

Kristin - take out the ad at the bottom of your request and I will fill out your surveys. I found it highly disturbing, like finding an ad for Wal-Mart in the census request. I am not familiar with the CASAA. That acronym should also be expanded.
I'm sorry, what ad? I don't see an ad?

You can learn about CASAA in this forum or for more information on the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association (CASAA), please go to CASAA | The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association

When you compete the survey, it automatically takes you to the CASAA website, too.

Oh, I thought you meant ads in the survey. That was my automatic ECF signature - I totally forgot about it. I'll take it out of my posts here. OK??

BTW - they aren't "my" surveys. The one is by the University of Geneva (I have no ties to it) and all of the work done for the CASAA survey is in order to help you keep your access to ecigs. So, it's really YOUR survey. ;)

Did both of them.

Are the results going to be published for us to peek at?

I'm curious of what comes out of it.
Absolutely!! The University one intends to close their survey as soon as they reach 1,500, I believe. So, the sooner they get to that number, the sooner they can publish.

The CASAA survey would like to see the same kind of response - kind of hard for the powers that be to ignore the official opinions and statistics of 1,500 or more vapers! :D

The CASAA results will be made available on the CASAA and other group's sites to use for educational and advocacy purposes!

Done and done.

Kristin: Are you going to post the survey request on the other forums? (If you haven't already, I haven't looked yet)
Thanks everyone!! Up to 286 respondents - keep it going!!

Yankee - It's been posted on VF and the CASAA forum. I'm not sure if it's been posted elsewhere.

I (and I'm sure the University of Geneva researchers) appreciate posts on other forums, too - I know there's a lot of other forums out there I'm not even aware of!!

Please feel free to copy and paste my first post on this thread anywhere and everywhere a fellow vaper may see it! :D

I am only able to complete 67 per cent of questions before it stops and there is no submit button! What is the problem?
What is the last question you can answer on it?

Make sure you aren't missing a question or part of one. If you missed answering one or part of one, it'll say "This question requires an answer" somewhere on the page and not let you advance forward.

1) Thank you. Faulty surveys abound. Ever hear of "push-polling"? Certain things like that tend to upset me.

BTW - they aren't "my" surveys. The one is by the University of Geneva (I have no ties to it) and all of the work done for the CASAA survey is in order to help you keep your access to ecigs. So, it's really YOUR survey. ;)

2) You are so right. And I add you to the long list of people I thank every day.

3) Certain personal information is required in surveys for statistical analysis. The information elicited was normal, minimal and not invasive. I found the questions in total to be pretty good. The results will be definitely be valid, and should lead to further insightful study.

4) Yes I filled them both out.
