I am returning my starter kit today, which I received yesterday.

I ordered the 8mg ("high") cartridges, hoping the taste would resemble tobacco. I can't quite describe the taste, it's a tossup of either drywall/retirement home or bad breath/veterinarian clinic, can't decide.

Have been researching PV's through this forum for weeks, am considering calling Jack at Happyvaper and getting either a Joye 510 or Ego. Is the Joye Ego and Happy Ego identical? I have seen the Happy Ego for less money but I'm not sure if it's a knockoff and not made by the original Joye mfg. I am not a heavy or regular smoker. Can anyone tell me if the Ego may be overkill for throat hit as I've heard some people have almost choked on it, and maybe the 510 would give me enough vapor and TH, but I'm not sure. Can anyone offer comments on this?

I'm also looking for a nice-tasting tobacco flavour with nic (not like US/Marlboro taste). I've been smoking American Spirit blues, have found that flavour on only one site - wordup - has anyone tried this American Spirit eliquid? Does anyone know how much nic is in American Spirit blues? What a great forum, am looking forward to a satisfying vaping experience!

I hesitate to recommend the Eluma only because I got a bad battery in my starter kit and have yet to deal with their Customer Service BUT I really like the Eluma. have tried the 510 and like it, too, but learning how to get the right technique for you is a learning curve. The Eluma was great from the get-go. I would definitely order the variety pack of tobacco. I ordered low as I smoked Capri 120's but it is too low. As far as flavor goes they are okay but not awesome. I am going to reorder med strength to see if flavor improves. Hope that helps

Sweetie, check the mg strength again. '8' is considered very low. When I smoked analogs they were Capri Ultra Light 120s so I ordered everything low and they are horrible. If you can, return or swap for at least 24 mg if you are looking for stronger nicotine. I'm not sure but in some cases, the strength of the nicotine seems to equal strength of flavor. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong because I am a newbie, too.

I don't know but I smoke camel filters 1 pack a day for 35 years. I started vaping over 3months ago. I haven't had one analog since I started vaping. I started vaping with Green Smoke 8mg, it was fine for me (I personally think each person is different). I am now down to 6mg and holding and happy.

In regards to Green Smoke, they recently started getting the cart's from an American company and since they switch from their Chinese supplier to the American suppplier it sucks. The American tobacco taste like crap to be honest. However, if you know this and call them on the phone and request the Chinese tobacco supplier they will send you them (the lousy part is most people don't know this and than walk away getting a lousy experience from their product).

I had a good discussion with the sells person about this very issue just a few minutes ago (doubt it will do much good). Green Smoke pricey - yes but do research and you will find that their $50 battery can be found at LeCig for $17, same batter as Green Smoke uses E9 aka KR808D-2 (note the 2, not a 1) LeCig Electronic Cigarette Store

I'd take a trip over to the ECF Supplier subforum. Plenty of deals with reputable vendors going around!

Personally, I would suggest getting a Riva from VaporJunction. I've done business with them and sent friends there. We were all very satisfied with the customer service, great prices, and fast shipping.

They have a 2 battery Riva kit for $50 right now. The Riva is basically the same thing as the eGo, but has a slightly higher capacity battery. It's a great little PV.

Well I've yet to find a juice that taste like a analog, first thing about vaping is well you are vaping so your not going to get that burning taste or anything like that..Though I personally have found some very nice juices that i enjoy a lot more than analog taste mainly "Halo torque56"...Then again its a little higher than 8mg more like 24mg.You have to be careful buying starter packages a lot of places charge you way to much for them compared to picking the items individually and putting them in you cart..When you do order try to order from one of the suppliers listed on this forum..

Hello everyone. I'm new here, haven't even started vaping yet. Ordered my kit last night. Xntrik I had looked at the greensmoke site too and was trying to figure out they nic lvls compared to everyone else. I decided to pass and keep looking and gaining knowledge on this subject. I hope I am happy when my kit gets here.

Wanted to let you know though if you are looking for a 510, wordupecig.com has they chrome 510 pcc kit on sale for 27.99. Not sure if it is the real joye/janty but he does sell their stuff on his site. Have seen some good reviews for their site and CS.

That's a shame. Actually, the GS Chinese cartos weren't all that bad and a few were very good.

Kinda hurts my heart that they would go with an American company and end up with an inferior product.

My head is spinning with options, but there's one thing that I forgot which is automatic vs. manual batteries. I would prefer not to have to push a button to get a nice TH, but I've read that some autos can kick in with loud noise or wind. Does anybody know if this is an issue with 510's, or whether specific models, like the 510, VK, or other PVs are best to get in auto or manual, or pros/cons? Thanks!

For myself I can be satisfied with the Chicom Marl juice. The only juice I have had that is anything close to tobacco is a cigar flavor that was surprisingly pretty close to a cigar. but then again I have not sampled many juices. I got some ivape Sweet Caroline juice thats supposed to be pretty good on the way, we'll see.
As far as juices go it is so subjective because so much falls on each individual's tastes.

Hi

I've played with number of different e-cigs and am from Canada also, so I figured maybe I could offer some insight. My Dad has a greensmoke. I love their cartomizer design, hate the flavours, and hate the quick cut off on their automatic batteries. All in all I must say that the value is simply not there. I would say that the Ego with the 510 cartomizer is a very satisfying vape (I've been running that combo for about a month). Happy Vaper sells both these items & they're reasonably priced for a Canadian seller. The Happy EGO is an authentic Joye product. Nic Fit Nation (Out of BC) also sells an authentic Joye EGO. Premium E-cig in Ontrario is a distributor for Janty, and sells their EGO, which to my knowlege is manufactured by Joye as well.

EGO throat hit varies on your liquid basically. The cone tightens up the draw a tad, so you can get away with a little less nicotine than using a standard 510. This is what I've found at least.

As far as liquid is concerned, it's really hit and miss. Nic Fit Nation sells and "ultimate tobacco" which is pretty close to an analogue & produces a wicked amount of vapour and throat hit. I ordered their 18mg and it almost knocked me on my @$$ using my EGO & cartomizer. So far, this is the closest to an analogue that I've tried. Vapables (Ontario Supplier) sells a Du More Eh liquid. It tastes like how a DU Maurier smells, if that makes sense. For whatever reason, I can't stand the flavour. I guess my advice is that with juices, things aren't always as they're labeled, and tastes are VERY subjective. If you get into a bit of DIY with your liquids, you can tweak a pre-made liquid to your preferences. I find that for tobacco flavours, they are very hard to replicate, because when you smoke you get the ash flavour. I find that DEKANG, which is a Chinese manufacturer of E-Liquid has hit the nail on the head with their tobacco flavours. I have tried tobacco flavours from many North American manufacturers, and they just don't measure up to the same level of authenticity.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions - maybe I can help.

Okay, usually I'm a maniac with research and know what to get after a FEW WEEKS. Now I've read almost everything out there, and have narrowed it down to these ecgis: Vapor King (808?), Joye 510, Joye Ego, or the Riva. Some say the Riva batteries last a bit longer than the Ego, but as a social puffer who doesn't need 8+ hrs of battery life, perhaps the 510 would suffice, especially if PCC's for it are available? Also, I've read that the Ego is only 3.2 volts, less than the 3.7 with VK or Riva (is that correct?) If so, I may rule out the Ego and decide between the VK XL Ultimate starter kit or the Riva starter kit. It also seems I still don't know which models have both auto and manual batteries though, I would prefer to draw as normal on an auto, but want the option to change to a manual on same model, so any info here would be helpful! I should say I am really only a 3-5 cigs/day smoker, blue American Spirit, and I do not like the US tobacco tastes since I'm Cdn.

First of all, welcome to the board, and any other new people. I am NOT the 'new kid on the block' anymore! :D

The people on this board are so very helpful. Remember one thing....what works for one may not work for another....and that is absolutely fine!:p

I use a Joye 510. I got extra stuff, though. I was a Salem smoker so my husband thought the Sam Menthol might work, but got menthol as well. Trust me when I tell you the 'Salem (Sam)' e-liquid was just plain ol nasty. I too smoked ultra lights, but got the 24/26 mg e-liquid. I was buzzed for a few days, but will cut back sometime in the future. Imho, I like the button over the auto battery. We got 2 buttons and 1 auto. The auto was the back up's back-up. I change out my battery 3x's/day. I have a plug in battery recharger and a usb recharger case that can be portable. We were determined to get it semi right the first time. The liquids are a hit and miss until you find the right one for you. There are many places to buy it. I have gotten used to the taste, and nothing smells or tastes like an analog. But, this is the first time in 200 years that I haven't smoked 512 analogs. I never thought I could do that.:)

I'm new to vaping and have started with GreenSmoke. I like the convenience of the two piece system and it produces adequate "smoke." However, my starter pack contained no menthol which is what I smoked and I'm biding my time until the new carts arrive.

I really hope the menthol carts approach the taste of my old analog brand but I can adjust.

I suppose this new adventure is all about trial and error. How many analog cigs did you smoke until you found "your" brand?
