So I just smoked my last stinkie and only smoked 1/4 and tossed the rest. As I head out the door hubby (non smoker) says "and this is why u aren't getting anywhere u just need to not smoke". He just doesn't understand. Neither do the people at work. They say "yeh yeh we've heard it all before". I just wish I had the support sometimes. I haven't found the perfect juice yet hopefully its in the mail. I wanna be smoke free and healthy, I just need to find my ADV and the sweet spot for nic content. I found my setup ( kanger evod) might upgrade the battery to a twist eventually. Anyone else come across this, I'm really frustrated and kinda sad tbh.

Nice to have support......but remember, you are doing this for YOU.

I don't even know anyone who smokes/smoked, but my friends are intuitive enough to know this is "better". So they don't exactly give me any kudos but they are not at all nay sayers about vaping.

So, just live within your own time frame and goals.........it doesn't really matter if they "get it" or not. YOu get it, and you are vaping so you're already 100% better off than you were a short time ago. :)

Its not a huge thing but at least its a step. Tonight my inlaws puffed on their stinkies right in front of me and I just busted out the pv and vaped away. Chain vaped the whole dang time I was over there haha

I would say it is a HUGE thing. That first 24 hours without even one is really a mental challenge. I wish you all the best. If you read this tonight you will notice today is my 4 month anniversary. This is the longest I have ever went since I started smoking 38 years ago. I know how hard it is. I belive you want to do this, and that to me is the most important factor. You have to WANT it. I still get a desire for a smoke occasionally but I make it. I will never go back. Someone above mentioned the variety was what helped them and I would agree. My tastes were changing so rapidly I couldn't finish a bottle and still like it much. I have half a dozen at least that I thought I had found the mythical ADV and now can barely tolerate them. The tastes are still evolving by the way. Good luck and stay strong.

Generally, the very fancy ones are mechanical mods -- just battery holders. Very pretty but not as functional as an eGo Twist, even if you get the little "kick" doobry to make it variable wattage. They do use standard batteries that you charge in an external charger, so they do have twice or three times the mAh that an eGo can have. Lithium-ion batteries have a limited lifetime of maybe a year or two. After that you throw away an eGo and buy another. With standard batteries you just get some more batteries. Which is just as well, because mechanical mods are strangely expensive.

It's when you get into rebuildables that mechanical mods come into their own, since they can supply a higher current than an eGo. You can run them right up to the edge of what they are capable of and straight over it if you are not careful.

In between the two are the variable voltage (VV) and variable wattage (VW) mods. Those have electronics in like the eGos, but they can measure the resistance of the coil and the voltage of the battery, and they hold standard batteries too. They are capable of supplying a bit more power than the eGo batteries, but not as much as a mechanical mod. You can recognise the difference because VV/VW mods have displays on them.

MRS B.X., don't let hubby, in-laws or anyone else dissuade you from gettiong off analogs. You are doing one of the best things for yourself you can possibly do. They are uneasy because you are messing with their precconceived ideas about you, but they are just going to have to adjust. You can come here and vent, or rant, or cheer, any time, and someone will be here to reply.

I'll admit I'm a nagger. However, Boyfriend DOES have his ADV, and has a handful of APVs that he loves for various reasons. However, he ran out of his ADV and his favorite APV died last year and he went back to smoking-- again, even though he hated it.

I just bribed him this time-- yes he wanted to quit, but he wants a big thingie for his CNC machine so I told him for V-day, if he made it that far (which was about a month), I'd buy it for him-- that way, instead of crabbing at him every time he whined about wanting a cigarette, I would just say a variation of one of two things, "You cannot have just one cigarette. You are an addict. It would taste horrible, and you'd waste all this painful time you've had trying to transition to vaping," and "go ahead but you're not getting you're Fusion."

He's going to make it :) My hope is that after a month of carrot and stick, he can resist cigarettes on his own without added inducement on my end. He has quit before and vaped for months on end so I'm not too worried about it-- we're now set for juice, batteries, and APVs, so I don't think he'll go back to cigarettes.

I'd consider that a success. Way to go! With this 1/4. You'll get there. It takes time. My mother smoked stinkies and laughed at my ecig. Then she basically used it the whole time I visited and bought her own set up. Who's laughing now? Haha. She already feels better and can breathe better.

I started vaping in July of 2010. It took me a while to get to where I was comfortable with ecigs. I knew the mall kit I had just bought wasn't going to do it but I was intrigued. I did some research and found ecf. I bought a 510 kit and some different juice and vaped and smoked for 3 months.. gradually cutting down on the cigarettes. Finally I was down to the first one of the day and the last one at night before bed. I was able to finally stop in October of 2010 but it took me those 3 months to get my "ducks in a row" so to speak.

I've read multiple accounts of people here quitting smoking the day they got their first ecig but I couldn't do that (at least with the mall kit I had) I had to ease into it.. make sure I had the gear to sustain me and juice I liked (back then it didn't take much LOL) When I finally quit smoking, I was using 510 batts and attys from cignot.com (or was it notcigs.com?) anyway, back then we just had cartridges and I would drip into the cartridge.

If you really want to quit smoking, this is the way to go. I loved to smoke.. but I also hated it. Vaping gives me what I loved about smoking without all the things I hated about it. (if that makes any sense) If anything, I am more passionate about it almost 4 years later! I haven't touched a cigarette since I smoked my last one Oct 2010. There's only been one time that I can remember that I was really tempted and that was after an argument with my husband LOL

I feel like an ... I cheated again :( I just want to find my adv! :(

You're doing fine. I used a mall e-cig for a year before I quit. I was just using it to keep the number of cigarettes down, and even that wasn't very successful. It took my partner issuing an ultimatum to get me to make the commitment to stop.

For what it's worth, since you may want recommendations, the mall e-cig was vanilla flavour, and that isn't bad as a non-tobacco tobacco substitute. My all day vape right now is Hangseng HS Delight from their Pemium PG collection. Not too sweet, subtle, but with enough bite to fool myself that it's smoke.

Look for more than one flavor. Get sampler packs from several places.
If you only vape one flavor, you will get the dreaded vaper's tongue!! No fun at all!

The whole All Day Vape (ADV) thing is unintentionally advanced by our beloved reviewers... Who don't actually vape WHATEVER all day. They are trying out other flavors throughout the day... And you will notice that they constantly talk about their new ADV.

I personally try to switch between flavors throughout the day, matching the flavor to what I may feel like at the time.

Also, remember that you are just starting out, and your sense of taste is going to change DRASTICALLY over the next 6 to nine more months. So keep the ones you don't like today to try again in a few months. Put them in a dark bag in the refrigerator and they will keep for up to two years!!!

Thanks all! I have a total of 9 flavors coming from mt baker vapor and jugheads so ill be stalking the mailman in hopes my adv is in one of those packages :)

Well, should all the ready made flavours fail to please you palate - there's always DIY with tons of recipes.

You'll also notice that juice might start to taste a bit different over time - after lacing your sense of smell and taste with tar and smoke, it'll take a while for your system to clear that gunk out.

Been experiencing that myself. DIY-liquids that tasted bland at the beginning of my vaping career are now intense enough to peel my toenails off...
